Wind of Change

Scorpions first live concert since Covid-19 - Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas - March 26, 2022. The Scorpions were formed in 1965 in Hanover, Germany and have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Two of the original band members are still with the group after all these years (Klaus Meine on vocals and Rudolph Schenker on guitar), and they showed no signs of slowing down anytime soon. I've attended hundreds of concerts in my lifetime and this one was one of the best. It's really cool to see seventy-year-old men rocking just as hard as they did in the 70's when they were kids. They played all their classic hits and debuted several new songs from their upcoming album (which sounded great the first time I heard them), but the highlight of the show for me was "Wind of Change," originally written to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall and the liberation of Eastern Europe from the Soviet Union, which was hauntingly relevant in the wake of the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine. The crowd was on their feet from start to finish!
