      I am shocked by how well it has done. So... I finally broke down and bought a GoPro. I figured I would take it along and see how it does. I wasn't able to or lost a lot of footage, but figured I would just slap together what I could salvage. I wasn't sure about posting it, but I had not posted for the week and being consistent is a goal so I posted it. Now I'm just hoping the people it brought to the channel stick around. Some people are into this and some are into that. I hope they like this and that.
      Thank you very much.

    I have two of those winter helmet liners, one in camo and your favorite one OD green. They are very warm. I used them when working the flight line in the winter when i was in the USAF. It's the ONLY thing that kept my head and neck warm. The polypropylene thermals were awesome also along with the camo gortex pants and coat. That commination kept me from freezing for 20 years.

    I’ve got one old school army/navy store close north of Atlanta called the military depot, lots of great stuff but kind of expensive. I go to the Blacky Thomas gathering every year in south Alabama and go to the HUGE Kaufman military warehouse, I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve melted several credit cards there. Also Fort Rucker is not far away from the gathering and has 3 very nice surplus stores. If you ever get to go to his gathering I highly recommend!! Cheers

    Back in the 1960's downtown Philly had a great Army Navy surplus store ( I Golberg ) . Had a little bit of everything military. Think they closed up 30 years ago. We had a small so called Army Navy store on the Avenue. Over the years they had less & less military items but had great prices for cub & big Scout uniforms. Would purchase a nice hoodie & work boots from them every year.

    Really miss the small town military surplus stores from back in the 80’s, when you walked in the store their was that aroma of military surplus , you know that storage smell. Now most of my military surplus comes from the flea markets or I order from some of the Army Navy on line stores. This past summer I purchased a GI cavas butt pack from a fellow, has that storage aroma to it, brought back such pleasant memories. I still have lots of my military surplus that I got from the 80’s, was much more plentiful then

    I like shopping in those stores.
    There is a small one about 3 miles from my job.
    There is a huge one about 70 miles away but they sell mostly online.
    If you want to shop in the store you need an appointment to go in.

    We had Herb Philipson's in NY. They had 10 stores with a lot of new proven outdoor gear plus surplus and firearms. Bought quite a bit of gear from them. Sadly the father wanted to retire and his kids wanted nothing to do with the stores so one of the employees bought the stores, and promptly ran them into the ground!

    When I was a kid we used to go to an Army surplus store at least once a year and blow everything we managed to save on the stuff there. That went out of business decades ago along with another favorite railroad salvage store. I haven't even seen one since the 1960's? Wait I did go into one maybe ten years ago and found nothing I wanted or could afford. All I get now is catalogs with overpriced surplus.

    • @OliveDrabAlliance
      @OliveDrabAlliance  18 днів тому

      There are some good deals online, I am as much to blame as anyone for the disappearance of surplus store because I primarily shop online.
      I'll admit it.
      eBay and shop Goodwill .com are also places I look. There is a lot of overpriced stuff there, but every now and then you can find a good deal.
