@connormclernon26 Yes!! I tell people about how this is brought up in TechManual (they specify controlled conditions like a mechbay, but still) and people are so influenced by MechWarrior, a spinoff that doesn't reflect canon, that they reject the point entirely. Same thing happens when you talk about the _size_ of mechs. I actually did a scale comparison once where I showed that a 45 ton Medium mech, listed at nine meters tall in a novel, was only slightly lighter than the original M1 Abrams configuration, which is nine feet long... I stuck the Abrams on its butt at scale to do a proper size comparison. One of the most frustrating things in BT to me is how they don't enforce some level of scale consistency among their artists. It doesn't help that the cockpits are sometimes described as extremely cramped to the point where only the pilot's torso is even in the real cockpit section, and other times described as entire little rooms with storage and a toilet.
I fucking love how some of the mechs use the PGI/MWO designs, but the Atlases are just the old ugly look from the early days. It's truly a thing of beauty.
I fucking love it. perfect blend of niche battletech details and endearingly janky animation, that's actually objectively better than what professionals were doing a couple decades ago. Subbed and hoping for more.
And all the jankyness wasn't able to dillute the beauty that is the RAVEN! That Mech looks so great and I love the fact that it's the first inner sphere ECM mech. It's also the first one I completed in Mechwarrior Online.
I gotta say, i wasn't really feeling this at all at first. And then i saw the Raven's running animation and giggled like an idiot for the rest of the episode. Well done.
I can't help but get bad-early-90s-CGI vibes from this. But I assume that is simply from learning the craft. The intro, however, REALLY capture the classic art, and bring it to life, extremely well! Keep it up, I do hope to see more.
That blade on that Banshee’s arm… That mech becomes a lot more formidable with such a modification. Would make them much more threatening if they had similar equipment in MW5.
It was the design of the Banshee 3E that made me choose that mech, with it's one arm just hanging by it's side in MW5, only acting as a side shield I could see more potential for it.
Imagine being a small time merc and getting hired to take out some pirates. You and the rest of the lance think it’ll be an easy payday cause it’s just a few pirates until you get jumped by a trio of Atlases. Must but one hell of a piracy operation.
The atlas explosion being a single gunshot *chefs kiss* This is how you deal with a scout lance. These are just the right amount of unhinged, keep it up!
You used not only the sound of Duckula Castle teleporting for a hyperjump, but completely rolled with it and animated it accordingly. This. Is. Brilliant! :D
@@MrTooncat No kidding about that creativity. Those whack-a-mole machine guns were a stroke of genius. Makes me wonder why we don’t have something like that.

As with your last episode your efforts are just.....super duper:-)
I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be funny or not. I felt bad for laughing like a moron when the Atlas slowly descended from the heavens before exploding with perfect comedic timing. Then I saw the pirate captain's running animation toward the end and determined that comedy was your intention. Well done!
Sir we're arriving at Twicross. Why? Well...weĺl you asked us to er go there. No I didn't ! When did I EVER say that? Sir? You said it tomorrow. Tomorrow ? You'd better get to the med bay stat. ( love the animation though, tops in the style it's done. )
The theme song only has to last for the intro / credits. I do have an old 90's Yamaha synth, and with all the sound editing software available today I might give it a go but music is not really my thing, so if episode 3's intro sounds even more janky than the stretched out version I've used on the first two episodes you'll know why.
@@MrTooncat cartoon theme songs now a days are lacking the punch they used to have back in the day. like now it just a few notes and thats it, and given that the artist of older work are showing off the full version of the show music now its geart hearing the full version of it then the chop up bits of it.
@@zsewqthewolf1194 So many great intro's from the 80's & 90's. I don't know how a new singing BattleTech intro with 90's synths in the background would sound. Or what the words would be. I was thinking about calling this mini series - Adventures Of The Inner Sphere. So that's a start at least :) Like Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers that was actually a proper over 3min long awesome song just cropped for the intro. It would be pretty cool to have some sort of rocking track to kick off the next episode, I don't know if you've seen the video of the guy recording the original Pokemon cartoon theme, while playing air guitar and check out his facial expressions as he sings it, really gives it his all. Great stuff. What do we get nowadays, Regular Show, two farty sounding notes and that's it :(
Can't really do worse than that now can I? Time to dust off that Yamaha Synth I think it had some sort of foot pedal with it, I'll try to find it and play with that for a bit see what sounds it can make.
@@MrTooncat the regular show did that for having more air time to tell a story, given that shows now want to tell a story and not just sell toys all the time. this in turn make it hard for them to pick of "should i give up 3 mins or 2 to tell more of the story better?" or "should i have a theme song that will be rememeber for 40 or 30 years?"
@@MrTooncat oh I will, but I can see a group of mercs finding some lost tech Naval weapons and strapping them to a jump ship only downside is that they now have to deal with Comstar as they have an unfair advantage over the rest of the innersphere. I've never seen an Invader class JumpShip that had armaments strong enough to destroy a Union Dropship in one attack before. Still, not bad. Pirates deserved it for killing that poor defenseless Urbie in Episode 1.

Episode 3 has a battle scene that was played out on tabletop to see how it could go. About to start making that last part of episode 3 soon. As for more voices, episode 4 might need quite a few so the doors always open on that.
It feels like it's an in in universe low budget show. The atlas trio are designed from old school designs but the raven, commando and even banshee are designed from the more modern Aesthetic. It feels like it's kind of the set design has seen the other mechs but only heard about the atlas but in an in universe way.

Great, but should have spend some extra time with some Aerospace Fighters to destroy the Dropship. (besides where could it have run off to) A Jumpship equipped with with NavalLasers isn't worth it. As losing the entire Jumpship due to some misunderstanding or ComStar shittery is expensive.

This has the makings of being retconned into an in world low budget animated series that became popular on periphery worlds.
Would not even be the first time that happened.
The way that JumpShip entered and exited hyperspace had damn well better be canon now.
Perfect mix of "Mechs are big rock'em sock'em robots" and "Mechs literally have muscles and can do handstands, though"
Even the Atlas if the Pilot is good enough
