For the record, the one on The Storm is possible to skip without any skulls on. Speedrunners do it to save the time of killing the scarab. The trick is to drive the mongoose through the door right when it opens and if you time getting off it right it will have enough momentum to get in past the elastic barrier. Sometimes you have to punch it a bit but it can definitely be done without skulls or grenades.

I know it’s kind of late but you can take the transport hogs from the beginning of the mission all the way to this point and use them to block the space around you
i think in the covenant instead of using the time travel glitch, i think you can actually position the hornet just right and glitch through the door (i may be wrong though most my memory of these glitches are like years old)
Im certain you have to be at the front of the scarab, the green laser, standing right on top of it will make it move to the direction your facing, i think, ive done this only once
If I were you I'd just be hoping for it to work and if it worked how cool it will be because you could genuinely say you beat HALO 3 without destroying a scarab!!!
How in the flying heck does a guy figure this stuff out.... Like does he have a program where he reads the code of the game, and then he knows how to read said code, and then is able to do work arounds??? I'm genuinely baffled. I'm also baffled on how this guy was just like "eff it, Im going to glitch Halo games for a living, yep, that's what Im doing now..." hahahaha nevertheless, I love watching these for some reason. I've binge watched these for like 3 days in a row.

I think a big problem with the scarab on the Ark was that you had a low difficulty, so the scarab didn't agro/follow/charge as much

Halo 3 Speed runners- You can skip a lot more than just scarabs.
If I remember correctly, the trick to clipping is getting out of the vehicle while it's moving.
