Also, for this recipe, you can use any canned fish you prefer, or any leftover baked fish.
Next is my advice on how to cook patties, there's a good reason why cooking temperature is important here.
At the end of the video you'll find 3 additional recipes on how to prepare quick healthy dips you can serve with them. These are: no-mayo tartar sauce, easy guacamole and olive oil garlic aioli.
I'm pretty sure whole family will love these easy tuna patties. It's healthy, delicious and cheap to make.

I absolutely love how straight-forward, no nonsense, fuss-free and just well put-together these videos are! So many healthy eating channels are preachy or loud. OR, they often call for "super food" ingredients that are hard to find or expensive. These videos are an excellent reminder that so many everyday, basic ingredients are all ready super. Thank you so much. I've subscribed - so glad I found this channel!

Hey there! Loved this video. I am gonna switch out the oats for parmesan cheese or grate a bit of normal cheddar cheese in there as I am in a low carb/keto lifestyle. Just mentioning this for anyone else who may be reading in the comments section! Gonna add some more spices to mine, but thanks a million for explaining your technique. All the best!

Instead of carrot, you can grate parsnip or daikon. If you want crispy edges to the patties, you can flatten the edges so that they crisp up when sautéed. If the patties have mushy centers, try steaming them on lettuce or cabbage leaves before frying them. Another way around the mushy centers is to make something else the center such as a slice of cooked portobello, a gherkin or a bit of roasted bell pepper.

Everybody on UA-cam still doesn’t know how to drain tuna out of the can the easy way. You take the can opener, cut the top off “all the way”. Then keep the top on top of the tuna in the can and squeeze it out into your sink. This way, you don’t lose tuna down the drain and all the water is drained. You use the top that you’ve just cut off to compress and squeeze the water out while still keeping all the tuna or salmon in the can for your meal. Very easy dah.

Good work. Does your stick blender actually chop up the garlic? I make aioli with the stick blender all the time but I always put the garlic through a microplane grater first. I love how you are always offering alternatives to ingredients and techniques. Looking forward to more content from you.

Thanks Howard, so good to know you like my multiple-option approach with recipes. I think that's the best thing about simple cooking, to be able to make the same thing in many different ways, depending on how you prefer it. Talking about stick blender, it worked just fine for me, no chunks of garlic in aioli. Sometimes I get surprised what this little fellow can do, anything from smoothies to making an oat flour, and it is much easier to wash than food processor.

Sort of off topic, but the cheapest canned tuna in oil would work great for tuna patties, but if you want to eat tuna out of the can or like with some cheese and wine I recommend starkist selects yellowfin tuna and extra virgin olive oil, it's about $1.89 at walmart, it's the best tuna I've had out of a can I really like it, just thought I'd throw that out there, for you to catch! 😎👍🐟
P.S. I've also tried the roasted garlic flavor of the same kind and liked it a lot too but for pure tuna flavor just get the basic regular starkist yellowfin tuna in extra virgin olive oil, is seriously taste good and is in chunks and flaky it's really good!!!!!

Hi Lisa, thanks for liking! Yeah, these patties turned out good, even I had a problem, my oil was too hot, and when patties are dry it's easier for them to get burned.

@@HowToCookSmarter Well despite the oil being too hot the patties are still perfect 😊
