- In the final round of the 2024 Valspar Championship, Peter Malnati carded a 4-under par 67 and was able to secure his second win on the PGA TOUR.

The PGA TOUR’s Florida Swing reaches its conclusion this week as the Innisbrook Resort hosts the Valspar Championship. Xander Schauffele tees it up again after his T2 at THE PLAYERS Championship last week. The American has five top-10 finishes in seven events so far this season. He last played Innisbrook in 2022 where he finished T12. Justin Thomas will be in Florida this week and hopes to turn things around after a missed cut at THE PLAYERS Championship. He finished 10th last year and was third the year prior. He’s missed just one cut at the Valspar in his career. Jordan Spieth will also be at Innisbrook this week. He claimed victory here in 2015 and has finished in the top-20 in five of his six starts, including a T3 a year ago. Others to look out for are The Open champion Brian Harman, Tony Finau and Sam Burns.

He hits into the rough and then you cut to him putting from the fringe. This was a key moment in the tournament and you provide absolutely no explanation. It’s like “The Heidi Game”, but you have the benefit of doing it after the fact. Some footage of him discussing this with the rules official would have helpful.
you can just tell how much this meant to him, all those long days working on his game, finally paid off once again.

Professional golf have got to change the sprinkler head rule,joke he got to drop on green from being deep in rough.

A drop at 17 for what ? They get it too easy these days, that's just not right.
Relief from a sprinkler head.
Any interference from a man made obstruction provides relief.
One club length… along your line… no closer to the hole.
Sometimes this rule works against you.
Your relief might be worse…
As if your previous shot crossed a hazard or boundary marker.
You wouldn’t be able to follow your line back for relief.
Or in some cases non existent.
As if your line of relief puts you behind a tree or other natural obstruction.
In this case it was an extremely lucky break.
As his approach line on the previous shot crossed the green.
Allowing relief along that line.
Most people consider the rules in terms of the penalties they incur.
Occasionally the rules work in your favor.
This is one of those times.
I’m sure a rules official approved the relief.
In fact I’m positive of it.👍🥃

Sprinkler head rules a deep rough lie for a nice lie for putting. Seriously?! This completely absolves Patrick Reed from that penalty he took from the bunker, or Dustin Johnson when he lost his major hitting from the ambiguous edge of the bunker and Tiger's day-late penalty at the Masters for dropping 2 yards BEHIND the ball and away from the target penalizing himself distance wise from his original ball position, just because a former player caught it on TV---not even on the course! forced the hand of the tournament director due to a quarrel they had years before about something of the likes ... and many more silly PGAT disgusting rulings. Bummer!
