  • The Ananda Nano is a fairly new planar magnetic headphone from HiFiMan. It's supposed to sound even better than the Ananda Stealth, as it's a newer version that has been upgraded with the nanometer-thickness diaphragm.

    I've been using the Ananda Nano with Oratorys EQ and Xduoo XD-05 Pro with Sparkos SS3602 op-amp chips and ESS dac chip. Currently waiting for the R2R dac chip to be released from Xduoo to install on the Xd-05 Pro. But this combo so far. It really is impressive how much quality you get from the sound considering price. With EQ and a good dac/amp that provides good clean power. You get about 94% of what the Arya Organic can do. Yes the Arya Organic will have slightly larger staging, slightly more detail etc. But it's not a huge amount. Considering the Nano gives 94% of what the Organic can do. Now compare it to headphones like the Meze 109 Pro, Focal Clear OG/MG, Audeze LCD-X 2021........ My personal pick. Ananda Nano 😁

    Iam enjoying this headphones with Oratory 1990 EQ preset, and with an inexpensive tube (hybrid) amplifier xDuoo mt604 streaming QOBUZ classical music. I am in love with it honestly

      @@TheAudioStuff I would not say so - you want precision, and this one slices like a scalpel. It's hard going back from that. For the advantages of the V3, you can certainly appreciate them, but the question is, will you at some point not want both? Then anyway, upgrading to Arya Organic or HE1000SE becomes an option.

      @@Reaper-kf4ybExtremely good clean power and EQ on the Nano, you already have about 94% of what the Arya Organic can do. I'd skip the Arya Organic and go high up to the HE1000 line or Susvara

    I get the nano, is my first HP and I'm happy with the incredible detailment and dynamic level and ruge bass but very disappointed with the aggressive hights in some songs. For now I'm using a dongle to amplifie. Do you believe that a good amplifier can make this more "soft" in the highs?
    In time, congrats for the excellent job. Direct and solid approach.

      Driving them with a not very powerful dongle, that’s likely using overly analytical sounding chips. Using a smoother sounding, more powerful DAC + AMP would be better for you, but you’d have to try to if it’s enough. Alternatively you can watch my ananda stealth review, which I think could be exactly what you’re looking for.

    Hi, could you tell me the soundstage, instrument separation, clarity, vocal, and dynamics difference between the Ananda Nano and Edition XS? Sorry for the long question, I am trying to decide between those two and it’d be super helpful. (I run a JDS Labs Atom 2 stack for my source)

    • @TheAudioStuff
      @TheAudioStuff  15 днів тому +1

      Hi, no worries, I can help you out!
      The soundstage's total width is a tad bit wider on the Ananda Nano, but what it does much better is placing sounds inside of the given soundstage. The imaging is much better and more precise.
      Instrument separation is about on pair. Headphones from HiFiMan at this price point can't do much better (meaning they're already very very good)
      For the clarity the Ananada Nano slightly outperforms the Edition XS, partly due to its more bright-leaning tonal balance, but the Edition XS won't leave you craving for more, it's also a very clarity focused headphone.
      Vocals are a bit dry on the Edition XS, they aren't on the Ananda Nano. On The Nano they also pop more from the mix and are more forward - that's a preference thing.
      The dynamics is what the Ananda Nano does MUCH better. It has a significantly thinner diaphragm and is more sensitive.

      @@TheAudioStuffThanks for the really detailed response! Will be subscribing. Carrying on this same topic, I do have the Sundara which from other reviews the Edition XS seems to beat Sundara in every category though (especially soundstage I hope this is the main thing I want in the upgrade). I haven’t heard if XS has more punch and dynamics than Sundara or if it’s just equal though? That would be a good reference for me

    • @TheAudioStuff
      @TheAudioStuff  15 днів тому

      @@Enzo_560 Thanks a lot for your support!
      I also have a review of the Sundara - feel free to watch that if you have some time.
      The dynamics on the Sundara and the Edition XS are about equal. Both have slight roll-off in the sub bass.
      But if you find your Sundara a bit too bright, you might be interested in the Ananda Stealth, not Nano.

    • @Enzo_560
      @Enzo_560 14 днів тому

      @@TheAudioStuffI went ahead and watched your Sundara and Ananda Stealth reviews. On the Sundara, I agree with your findings there. Now as for the Ananda Stealth, I do have some unanswered questions. In the review you mention that Ananda Stealth’s stage isn’t that wide, so to clarify then is it smaller than XS? Second, is the Ananda Stealth just as punchy as XS? From some people I hear it is soft in dynamics which is what turned me away and I also heard it was bass light in comparison to XS. Last, you mention that QC issues are behind Hifiman, so in your experience are Hifiman products safer buys for longevity now?

    • @TheAudioStuff
      @TheAudioStuff  14 днів тому

      @@Enzo_560 Thanks so much for checking out my other videos!
      I'd be glad to help you out even further, by clarifying some stuff.
      The Ananda Stealths's stage is not smaller than the XS. It's about on pair, maybe ever so slightly better - but that's arguable. Neither is particularly wide, but they're both for sure wider than something like the HD660. Super nice stage width is what you're getting mostly with the Arya and above.
      The Ananda Stealth is definitely more punchy than the Edition XS. That's the first thing I noticed after trying it. Its bass is clearly more extended, faster and better controlled than on the Edition XS (which has a slow roll-off). So, whatever you heard about the Ananda Stealth being bass light - in comparison to the Edition XS, it's NOT. In fact, the bass quantity is a bit larger on the Ananda Nano, due to its extension.
      For the QC issues - I've not had any. Of course, I don't want to be liable for your pair, so I can't say for sure that you won't experience that. But what I can say is that HiFiMan's customer support is always doing their best. In the worst case, you should be getting a very quick replacement.
