Adjustable benches in general are just way overpriced, IMO. I’ve never liked using an adjustable bench for actual bench press so it does truly become a luxury where I would always want my fixed flat bench...and an adjustable.

Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.

Ho coop, its a shame you have never reviewed the ironmaster super bench, for me that's the best bench I've used and seen in the uk. Small foot print genius design on the detachable seat, true decline with leg attachment to hold you from sliding, plus other attachments. Anyway keep up the good content like yourself I love gym equipment.
Unless you're just starting out or don't plan on going up in weight, I wouldn't recommend cheaping out on a bench (like something under $100) You don't want it to snap and have you decapitated when you're hitting 2 plates incline.
Hopefully they take your advice for the bench centering device and making it work for other racks. I really like this bench and it would be nice to be able to use that feature on a Rogue rack.
1. Which is better, rogue 3.0 or Prime Adjusible bench. Which you recommend buying more? 2. Does the Prime Adjustible Bench) have a little shake/rattle? ( compare to the rogue which doesnt shake at all or the Rep5000 which does shake/rattle) Thanks
The thing I like more is that it has enough space down so chest supported barbell rows can be executed, about that weird pads....I imagine myself lying face to the floor doing double supported heavy kickbacks, something I already do with the help of a scott attachement
Those bicep pads use for bench for a floor press with leg drive. Half bench racks with floor press pads are a whole separate piece to have in the garage. Great idea actually.
Dont mean to bother you, but how do you like it/how has it held up? Thinking about ordering one today since the rogue adjustables seem like they wont be in stock for a while same deal with the Rep adjustables. Will mostly be for dumbbell work with the occasional incline bench press.
redrider132001 no complaints with it. I’d forgo the arm pad option, and maybe even the foot attachment. The pads are low enough to engage too much hip flexor when doing sit-ups. My one knock is that compared to the Legend Fitness bench I have on the way, the pad looks a bit thin. I think the three way bench from Legend is a bit cheaper and you can customize the colors at no extra cost. I went with their darkest gray for the frame, Candy Apple red padding.
Good review. I’d like to know more about those Sorinex adjustable benches. If you decide to let one go give me a shout I’m only 30 min away. I think Prime has some great ideas, but the lack of transparency on the website is going to turn off garage gym owners. Even Sorinex started listing their prices and has a much more user friendly site.
Let me give you some feedback on video editing. First of all you got really good content and valuable info! But, the music that you randomly insert into your videos are overwhelmingly high compared to the voice you talk with. It would be better if you try to match your sound levels on your decibel meter. When I watch your videos I have to keep my hand on the volume sometimes because I never know when the video is going to scream at me, and then turn it back up when you're talking again.
Another thing that the extra “arms” can provide would be floor press. Instead of being on the floor and throwing heavy DBs back in an uncontrolled way, you can easily “floor” press by yourself using the arm pads.
Here we go ! I bought on based on coop vid. Few things...1) Pad not only soft but THIN - often feels like I'm right on the wood support structure 2) TOO Narrow 10.5 in vs 12 in Coop should have addressed - I'm not tall either but that 10.5 in just doesn't feel as secure/supportive, especially on decline press (Spoke to Prime about this and the noted looking into a wider option, but c'mon why 10.5 in make NO sense to me. because every other bench...Rep Rogue Titan etc. bla bla bla ) and 3) Of course price high... uugh Look, I love made in USA but this bench is just ok but it absolutely is NOT the "best adjustable bench" ...and I think Coop knows that---- I like that it is a bit lighter and nice design otherwise, but rubber hits the road when back hits the bench pad - and this one is NOT the best. Strange it would have taken so little added effort for wider thicker pad and it would be a really good bench. Hard to understand what is going on in these designer's minds with nice product sabotaged with thin narrow pad.. Prime - you can do better....!
So glad you mentioned all this because I was thinking the exact same thing on all points. I actually ordered this but then cancelled because I just don't think it's worth the pricepoint when there's so many other better available options. I just got a rep PR-4000 rack and narrowed my options down to the Prime bench and the Rep AB-5000 Zero Gap. I'm heavily leaning toward the AB-5000 for the quality, price, and value. The padding on Prime's is just too thin - I don't think it would be good for longevity. Why is it so damn narrow??? I love the innovative elbow pads but even those are $250??? The foot plate seems like it would be too shaky especially when doing decline anything with the leg rollers. I think I'm going Rep. I just sold all my Titan stuff and converted to Rep - they're not 100% USA but they're doing some high quality, innovative stuff for a good price.
Hey Coop! Those side pads could be attached and you could basically do like a Floor press (bench press) from the bench instead of on the ground. Put the pads where your elbows would come down too
Really nice bench. I have the Titan MAX adjustable and love it. This looks like it has more quality touches but the 449.00 at Titan was already a stretch for me. This is definitely a nice bench though. Decline variation angles on both of these benches crazy.
Yep the Rep Fitness is great, it is the one I bought, just had the hardest time connecting the seat attachment bracket to the bottom of the seat - wish they would have made the screw placements at different spots...hopefully they improve this design flaw on the new models...
That's exactly what my husband is doing now at home. We have two coolers. We took some eggshell foam mattressing we had but weren't using and cut it to size. It looks like a single size bed. He bench pressess on it and he says it's comfortable.
I did that too. It ended up collapsing and the bar landed right on top of me. Ouch. So be careful! I should probably mention I used a soft-sided cooler. Live and learn.
I want a FID bench thats semi commercial / commercial that can do biceps, leg extension/ curls, and also pullups and dips. It's out there, but I dont remember from what manufacture I seen the video. It was quite sturdy.
Very informative video. Not too over the top. Some critiquing and recomendations to the manufacturer who I hope listened as I am in the market for an adjustable bench. Thanks Coop.
I actually just picked up a Monster Rack. The Fortis rack specifically. I actually got to talk with Steve Slater and told him they need to do a drop in comp bench for their racks. Their showroom in Columbus is pretty cool.
@@Pler1978 I thought hard about the rml 490c. And seeing it in person it's a nice rack but the monster series just has a really cool look. And being $200 cheaper for the Fortis rack didn't hurt. I should have my bench mid week so then I am set. Went with the Rep fitness fb5000 and a fat pad. I need to grab the spotter arms for things like pin pressing. The pin safeties will be replaced by the safety straps but for the time it works. Next up a good set of steel plates, good set of bumpers for Oly work (which I enjoy a lot), and a few different bars. All in time. But first a new platform. I have an 8x8 one that this thing basically filled. So I plan on making another 8x8 but in 4x8 pieces. Easy to store and I can move it into my driveway since cleans and snatches in the garage are a bit sketch.
So what makes you prefer this one over the zero gap FID from Rep for $175 less? Based on your reviews of both I'd probably go with that over the Prime one simply because I don't think the small weight disparity and those gimmicky arm pads would make up for the price difference--- especially if the padding is too soft.
For the value, the REP AB-5000 is better. No question. Review coming on that. However, I like the lightness of the Prime along with some of the features like bench docking, wings, and the overall quality is better. That said, for the majority of people, we'd recommend Reps. That's an incredible bench.
The side attachments would be great for replicating a DB floor press! It’s a pain in the butt trying to get the dumbbells up when you’re on the floor with them.
I think for anyone that's on a budget what's gonna cost more is not the bench but the weights, whether you go dumbells or barbell, right now it costs an estimated $2 / lb .. so if your looking to get a 60lb dumbell your looking at $120, for a pair your looking at $240. You can find used ones on kijiji but with the pandemic many people are hanging onto their home gym equipment because gyms are closed or have covid rules (wearing a mask, have to book your work out time, etc ).
Thinking about getting the prodigy rack. Coop, plate loaded or selectorized? Are you going to make a video on the selectorized version? I like the casual style video much better.
Thinking about buying this since the rogue ab2/ab3 and even adjustable bench 2.0 havent been in stock a while and doesnt look like theyll be anytime soon. Also wouldnt mind a rep 5100/5000 but same deal who knows when theyll be in stock and theres a 30 day shipping delay through rep when they are. How has it held up? Ik you got a ton of benches and probably dont use it a ton just wondering if you have been using it/have it in your gym how it has held up/how people like it. Will mostly be using it for dumbbell work and the occasional incline bench press.
I've been binging your channel from the start. This review was amazing! I really like that rack, though not sure if the pull up bar is tall enough for me. The bench looks really tall so would probably fit someone like me who is 6'4.
Hey Coop, Iove the product buying guide but wondering if you can provide info to help us be better informed consumers. Not just which bench or barbell is best for the price but what makes a bench a quality bench vs garbage. What features and specs make a barbell better than another, etc? Thanks for all the content!
@@Death_Strong Any reason for not giving the Prime bench a shot? Seems like it surpasses the rogue at a cheaper price point. I'm trying to decide between the rogue ab-3 and the Prime so I'm curious why you went with the former>\?
Thanks for the great review. Around 9:15 I thought you were alluding to doing barbell bench work with the lock in function, but there was no footage of it unless I missed it. Is it safe to say that the bench goes far enough back while still being locked in for heavy incline, flat, or decline barbell bench using J cups? Also, I love the shirt! Thank you again.
Yo Coop-what's your _Second Best_ adjustable bench? IDK if I'm a fan of this one given your cons. I'm wondering if there is another one that has a better balance of pros/cons for a different home gym user. Do you know of one that can do a short back support for overhead tricep lifts (with dumbbells), and with better padding than this one here? Thanks man.
Hey Coop, great product and another great review. Any gap issues? I'm just not a huge fan of a noticeable gap, particularly with dumbell presses. Also, can you easily do a dumbell decline press? I'm accustomed to the adjustable bench declining rather than the seat to do decline work. Lastly, I would appreciate your review of the Prime accessories like the 4N1 and the RO-T8 handles. Why? You're just a trustworthy guy. Thank you!
I would need to test it out but I’m pretty sure you can use those pads for floor press too. Floor press without having to fight with the dumbbells on the floor.
All these people crying about the price🤣🤣 look up any high quality benches, made in USA and rugged, they’re all 700+ lmao. It’s a competitively priced bench for its class, people are crazy lol. Gym equipment is expensive, you would think people interested in it would know that by now lmao
Do you like the selectorized prodigy rack more than the plate loaded. I noticed that your review was on the plated loaded but you appear to have the selectorized in your garage now.
My situation is one you haven’t mentioned yet, maybe this is the wrong place to ask this... In my situation, I don’t see myself lifting over 200 lbs in any fashion for the foreseeable future, so I have opted to go with 1 inch standard weights. The area I have to work out in has 7 ft ceilings, so I’ve also opted out of a rack... my current plans include a power tower, a weider 6.1 bench and a piece of equipment ive picked out for helping my core (sore back is main reason I’m build the gym), and cap weight plates... I’m curious if you have any good recommendations for an all in one bench press station... preacher curl would be nice, but in no way is it mandatory... the butterfly looking attachments on the sides of some I’ve seen just seem like something I’d rather use dumbbells for... thanks in advance!! Also, if I’m messing up here, I’d love to know how and why... also, the main reason I’m not lifting heavy is I live in a mobile home and I dont trust the floor with too much weight so I’m trying to stay light and spread the weight out
Coop, any noticeable wobble when using the decline feature? I'm making a final decision between this and the AB3. Prime is 200 cheaper shipped to my door. Please help decide for me lol!
Did you ever get a reply? What did you decide to go with?? The rogue “appears” more stable to me but dang that price. I have been wondering how comparable the Titan Max adjustable bench is to them. People’s reviews say it is rock solid and definitely has commercial feel for 1/2 the price.
@@meisdetermined I bought the AB3 bench. It’s expensive but the best bench I have ever used in my opinion. Zero wobble for me even when doing sit ups. I’m really happy with it. Hope that helps you in your decision.
@@markcaravella68 Is there anything that pushed you to go with the AB3 vs the Prime Bench. For me it comes out to be $325 difference between the two. I am concerned like you with the wobble, as like you, I really value the ability to do crunches. My back isnt what it used to be and doing crunches on the floor even with an ab mat is just becoming too straining so i wanted a bench not just to lift weights but to provide a stable surface for crunches. I have no issue spending the extra $300 for Rogue but just curious as to what pushed you AWAY from the Prime to finally settle on the AB-3
@@MrGreed2000 for me it came down to knowing the rogue brand better and having previous good experiences with them and their other products.. It was a $100 difference for me so it was an easier decision for me than you’ll have. At $325 I may have went to prime. I have heard a lot of great things about their products but not enough about their bench. All this being said I don’t think you can’t go wrong with the AB3. I am super happy with mine. As mentioned before there is no wobble (which sounds important to us both), the padding is really nice (perfect firmness butt not too firm for me), and the overall build quality is great. Also, Rogues customer service has always been top notch for me. If you buy the prime I’d love to hear your thoughts!
@@audiblefart6211 The AB-3 comes out to be $1250 shipped whereas this one is $918 - about a $300 difference. I just wonder how much better the Rogue is since it costs $300 more. Im assuming because Rogue is more well known but Prime is no slouch either and i believe both offer lifetime warranties. Buying gym equipment is hard!

Never heard of Prime before this video. Also, thanks for “calling out” Sorinex on the “reserve your [if you have to ask, you can’t afford] now” policy. Also, what the hell did you do to your elbow?
There are a lot of great affordable fid benches out there - Rep Fitness, Titan Fitness, Body-Solid, but you will probably have to spend at least $250 for a new one...If weight capacity is not an issue, then that opens the door to a lot more choices....

Another thing that the extra “arms” can provide would be floor press. Instead of being on the floor and throwing heavy DBs back in an uncontrolled way, you can easily “floor” press by yourself using the arm pads.
Have you reviewed the IronMaster bench? I love mine and it is super versatile for a home gym
I haven't. I'd like to though.
Stopped reading at Titan
Man that rack bench combo is sweet.
The only problem is it’s not in a lot of people’s budget.
The FID w best bang for buck
Rep Fitness !!!
Yep the Rep Fitness is great, it is the one I bought, just had the hardest time connecting the seat attachment bracket to the bottom of the seat - wish they would have made the screw placements at different spots...hopefully they improve this design flaw on the new models...
When I was broke I used a cooler as a bench.
Was it a Yeti Cooler because if it was, that is probably why you were broke. lol
BeerScout Was it filled with ice and beer (for stability). Cheers on being innovative.
For fuck sakes.....GENIUS!!!
I purchased this bench and I would love to purchase that lock-in crossmember for my Sorinex rack.
I want a FID bench thats semi commercial / commercial that can do biceps, leg extension/ curls, and also pullups and dips. It's out there, but I dont remember from what manufacture I seen the video. It was quite sturdy.
There isn't a commercial or light commercial bench with a preacher or leg attachment. I think Ironmaster makes the best one.
Very informative video. Not too over the top. Some critiquing and recomendations to the manufacturer who I hope listened as I am in the market for an adjustable bench. Thanks Coop.
Very similar to floor press. You can utilize that side arm pieces on the bench for strict dumbbell bench press💪🏿
One thing you should add that I looked at when buying a bench was load capacity
would love to be able to lock in to my Rogue Monster rack.
Not listing prices online is a deal breaker. Guess I'll check out Rogue's selection. Moving on...
Back before the stache 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Coop would you say the Prime Fitness Bench is better than ROGUE’s AB-2? Is the stability of the PF Bench better or worse than AB-2?
Coop you didn’t tell us if it was beefy or not, now I’ll never know!
THIS THING IS BEEEEEEFY
You could use the curl attachments to do a “floor press”
Definitely trying that one.
@@GarageGymReviews or floor flys.
The pads can help with bench pressing without going to far down and doing the proper ROM.
Thinking about getting the prodigy rack. Coop, plate loaded or selectorized? Are you going to make a video on the selectorized version? I like the casual style video much better.
I'd probably suggest the plate loaded version. It's just a much better value.
Could totally use those extra pads for a floor press on a bench, way easier then setting up on the ground.
This style of video is great! Thank you!💪
Great review Coop!
After all that he totally ignored the best bench of all time! The Rep Fitness AB-5000 Zero Gap!
Is it? It seems like a lot of steps just to adjust it. But I am waiting for it to come back in stock.
The "best bench ever" has quite a bit of wobble from the reviews I've seen.
@@turtlepowersf took me a bit to really find out but this is in fact true. Replaced both my Zero Gaps with a rogue bench and an elite fts.
@@Death_Strong Any reason for not giving the Prime bench a shot? Seems like it surpasses the rogue at a cheaper price point. I'm trying to decide between the rogue ab-3 and the Prime so I'm curious why you went with the former>\?
Great video. Much appreciated. If it was not for the wait time, I would buy one today. Btw, I enjoyed this style of video too 👊🏻
Thanks for the great review.
Love the content coop!!!!
Thanks brother!
Thanks man.
Your music onslaught just blew out my hearing! Thanks?
7:00 you could do a floor press with the attachment without being on the floor.
Thank you!
Best ever for price northern lights stealth bench. It’s only $400 new. I sold my $600 hoist 7 way adjustable bench to get this bench back.
Best adjustable bench IMO is Rogue adjustable 2.0 bench.
Thanks!
Man is it just me or should this guy look like a super hero
Hey Coop, have you ever reviewed any "all-in-one" gyms like the Force USA Monster series?
remember when co-op used to review equipment that costs less then a months mortgage.
Do you like the selectorized prodigy rack more than the plate loaded. I noticed that your review was on the plated loaded but you appear to have the selectorized in your garage now.
Just bought one based on this review. Thanks dude!
Did you get any discounts or deals? Did u have to pay for arm and leg attachments for additional costs?
I bet you could use the extra pads to do a modified floor press like you can do in the Westside benches.
What's the weight capacity and warranty? Thanks coop. Great video as usual.
Weight capacity is over 1,000 lb. Warranty is lifetime I believe. Pretty much standard for Prime products.
@@markcaravella68 yes sir it absolutely does. Thank you. :)
When I started my home gym I bought a $50 adjustment bench from Walmart
Hi Coop, can you review the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro along with all the attachments available for it please?
I just bought a bench from REP (AB-3000), kind of like this bench better.
Love your channel brother
Which would you choose between this and the Rogue AB-3?
@@audiblefart6211 The AB-3 comes out to be $1250 shipped whereas this one is $918 - about a $300 difference. I just wonder how much better the Rogue is since it costs $300 more. Im assuming because Rogue is more well known but Prime is no slouch either and i believe both offer lifetime warranties. Buying gym equipment is hard!
Could you use that curl attachment for floor press without getting on the floor??!!
I'm going to give it a shot. It's a good idea.
Can you tell me how the bench pad is holding up ? I would like to do tricep dips off of it . 🤔🤔
I think your video waking thru the specifics was perfect.
Is there a company that advises on what is the best equipment for a small spare room?
Thank you..Ana Sophia
Would like some reviews of Fray fitness equipment

Locking Mechanism - which other brands have a feature like this and is there a rack that can lock-in benches from other brands?
Coop the title is jacked on this video. "The Best Adjustable Bench I've Ever Used -The Rogue AB-3 Adjustable Bench Review"
Also, looking to upgrade my Tonal's bench for an adjustable, what benches would work well for that use case?
Never heard of Prime before this video. Also, thanks for “calling out” Sorinex on the “reserve your [if you have to ask, you can’t afford] now” policy. Also, what the hell did you do to your elbow?
One wheel accident
Prime has been around for a long time, but was previously known as Strive.
There are a lot of great affordable fid benches out there - Rep Fitness, Titan Fitness, Body-Solid, but you will probably have to spend at least $250 for a new one...If weight capacity is not an issue, then that opens the door to a lot more choices....
There are barely even a handful of GREAT FID benches out there. Titan doesn't make one. Neither does Body-Solid. REP AB-5000, Rogue AB-3 and the Prime Adjustable Bench. That's it.
The bench that should come with the tonal gym!
