Zhinan Temple Travel
There are 3 religions in this temple: Daoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism.
This time, I explored 2 palaces in this temple, Daxiong Palace, and Lingxiao Palace.
The first is Daxiong Palace (大雄寶殿), there were many Buddha Statues in the main hall, including Thai Buddha Statue. In the 1970s, this Thai Statue was honored by Thailand's Marshal Praphas Charusathien and presented as a gift with the consent of government officials.
The statue of Sakyamuni Buddha was made by the Thai Ministry of Art based on the Indian Buddha statues and integrated with the essence of Thai Buddhist statue art. It was made of nine kinds of precious metals and was consecrated by the King of Thailand in person. This statue was dedicated to the temple on December 17, 1977. This is the most special Buddha statue in the temple.
The second is Lingxiao Palace (凌霄寶殿). It covers an area of more than 2,360 square meters. It is entirely constructed of reinforced concrete, with a height of six floors. It can be said to be the first Jade Emperor Palace built with modern building materials in Taiwan at that time. The top floor of the roof is in the Southern Fujian style, with carved dragons and phoenixes, and flying pearls in the middle. The second floor is in the Northern style roof, with the roof ridges decorated with fairy clouds and animals. The wall decorations and dragon columns are all made of fine and rare materials. It is carved from Guanyin Mountain stone and painted with a little gold paint on key parts.
In the Lingxiao Palace, all the main gods and immortal ancestors in Taoism are enshrined, and they are worshiped in a systematic manner.

The next location is Maokong Gondola Zhinan Temple Station and nearby areas. There are gardens, observation halls, and walking trails.
I think it’s worth visiting during the winter and spring.
