The intro set the entire vibe. I felt like I was watching a movie where the bad guy has an innocent and continues to tell him he's safe, his job isn't to kill him, he really likes the guy, and sends him on his way... He kills him right after. Lol.

The Canon EF was the first canon to use the copal shutter, I believe.

So when you replace a Prism, do you glue new foam to the Prism, and what type of glue should one use? Evelyn

Do you add foam strips onto the T50 before putting it into the K1000?

I have in the past but between the set screws and the spring system on the K1000 that usually does a good job of holding it in place. There hasn't been a significant difference in using foam or not using foam in my experience so normally I don't. Hope that helps!

Seriously? Like they say, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. Glad I don't prescribe to your "opinion". My personal T50 was purchased in 1982. Still going strong. never failed once. Easy to use, great photo quality. I will be sure to never send my photo equipment to you for any type of service. SMH.......

I appreciate that insight, in the 5 years I've been working on cameras the ratio of broken t50's to working is roughly 20:1, when they work they can be great but it's just so much more often that they don't work which has affected my opinion.

I found a pristine K1000 with an also flawless 50mm F 2.0 kit lens, with the only problem being the the degraded prism issue, selling for almost nothing. The camera couldn`t be used as it was and thanks to this video I was able to find a cheap and already broken T50 from where I extracted a beautiful clean prism. Now I have a pretty much NOS K1000. I would send this man my cameras for repair on any day. This video is saving K1000s that would otherwise be useless. And this isn`t an opinion, this is fact. And yes, the T50 feels cheap and looks outdated when compared to the K1000 (OK, this is an opinion).
