Hi R.J. Wanted to say good luck with your new adventures, but also, your tour vlogs are some of the best I've seen on youtube. It really makes your channel stand out from all the other gear demo-channels. So I'm hoping there will be more in the future. T.
Dude your Musician ship is SO Solid, i love the lines you draw in your demo videos and an RJ Ronquillo Solo Project would be cool. But you gotta do what makes you full. SO god bless and im looking forward to see where the road takes you . Peace
UA-cam/Touring is a really hard balance. I think RJ did it well. I'm still in the thick of it but definitely feel the intensity of trying to balance the two.
When I saw the article in Guitar Player, I felt like it was a friend of mine that had gotten a really cool break...guitar playing aside, you seem like a good dude man....all the luck in the world to you and thanks for letting us see what it would be like to live our dream!
Man I can't thank you enough for sharing the inside life of the touring musician. I really looked forward to these because as a guy who grew up in the 80s, even though I ended up behind a big desk, it was always my dream to be onstage. It was awesome, One Professional to another, to see how it all works. It has been a pleasure and I can't wait to see what you bring us next my man. Congratulations and good luck in the future.
I've seen guys make these kind of vids before but it's always like "I'm quitting my job at Guitar Center to make more content!" but holy crap you are the real deal touring with actual drawing acts. Interesting and BALLSY choice, but your channel and you as a player was my favorite YT discovery in 2018, and I have damn good taste so I'm sure you will do great in this new path!
The touring content is what brought me to your channel, and I’ve enjoyed all of it. What’s gonna keep me subscribed is the fact that you’re so badass and versatile on guitar.
Always enjoy your tour vlogs. People think Touring is glamorous it’s F ing Hard, so you have to to love it. Good luck with 2019 and beyond. Always inspired
The tour vlogs were always a treat and much appreciated! Honestly, as a one man operation - doing all aspects of the vlogs, it’s amazing that you were able to provide the great level of production and hold down any kind of job besides that. I look forward to whatever you share with us from here and wish you well, Hopefully you’ll even find more 2 wheel therapy time too. Peace and love from N.Y.
These tour vlogs are my favorite videos on UA-cam. I can’t thank you enough for sharing these. I’m sad to see them stop, but I’ll support anything you do and I know a lot of us random avatars out here in UA-cam land feel the same way. I think what makes these tour vlogs so special is that we get to know a little bit of YOU and share in your personality. We can’t always get that with gear demos. Hopefully you can work more of yourself into your future videos! You are the best.
I always had to detach from others before a show. Had to have time to recenter and relax. With younger bands that's a no-no since there is pressure to hang out, make jokes to calm nerves etc but as you get older, personal head space is more important even if it's just a couple of hours per day. I also noticed that when I was alone at the hotel or at the venue someone would inevitably ask me if I was available for an upcoming tour or recording engagement. Now that wouldn't happen if I'm hanging out with the guys all the time.
Solo around 18:18 - An amazing sound and vibe and fitting for how I will remember you out on the road. Hope you are well. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
Just like most of the other comments, I really enjoy the tour vlogs. Life takes it’s twists and turns. I can’t wait to see what awaits beyond the door that just opened. All the best!
Hey RJ just catching up on all your videos. Awesome. Really enjoyed the tour vlog series. In hindsight, although I and no one would ever wish the events of 2020 to happen. it seems like foresight on your part to get off the road and pivot to what your doing now. All success!
I really appreciate this glimpse into your life as a touring musician. I completely understand why you wouldn't want to continue w. the video thing after a certain point - it is like one more layer of burden. The videos you've already made serve a really good purpose of providing an idea of what it is like for those of us who are vicarious watchers. Thank you so much for the good work!
Hard and big decision RJ. It must be exhausting to balance both UA-cam gear/demos/lessons and tour blogging! And also must have been hard to tell your tour family you were quitting. For me it's been such an inspiring experience to watch you tour the US and Europe so a big THANK YOU for sharing that part of your life with the world 🤗And for what comes next I'm looking forward for whatever you'd like to share with open arms, to continue learning and having fun with RJ's Guitarama! Best wishes from Spain and thanks as always for sharing quality content, musical knowledge and self experience with a little touch of humor 😊👌🏾👌🏾🎸
Good for you man, gotta look out for yourself. I love these vids but can totally understand. Any lessons from you are a goldmine, and that solo was nothing short of amazing
Want nothing for the best for you!! I will say though that the tour VLOG's are what brings me to your video's. Lot's of others have gear demo's. Your the BEST BEST BEST on youtube for living vicariously through. Hope we see you doing at least smaller gig's. Best wishes!!!
What a lovely guy,,really enjoyed the fly on the wall touring insight,,i had a deal with RCA n the late eighties as a lead guitarist and had a wee taste of touring,,,have to say it wasn't for me,,it's a tough life so respect to you RJ,,,ps your spotlight solo was superb mate ! Continued success !!
I really enjoy these videos and will miss them, but they also show that being a touring musician can be a real grind in spite of the actual gigs. You REALLY did a great job on this one, RJ! The good news is that your UA-cam channel is doing well, and I'm sure it will continue to get better!
Love it brother, thanks for sharing and taking the time to do so, i love the behind the scenes stuff - I live it along with you, but on a local scale here around detroit. its cool to see what other guys go through on a tour, the rooms food travel and gear.
This month marks about one year since I started following you, and it’s great to see this transition! I really dig your content, and can’t wait to see what’s next. Best of luck in 2019!
Love your channel. Tons of diversity in content. Something for every kind of player or just viewer really. You have some of the best production as well. Very inspiring. Keep it up.
It's amazing to me that UA-cam creation is lucrative enough, especially considering all the monetization horror stories I've heard from creators, for you to give up touring, even for just a while. Congratulations. Your videos are always engaging and informative, and always very professional.
Loved the tour vlogs R.J. Sad to see you stop but look forward to what you have coming next. On a different note, I'm planning on covering your song "Kristina" in my band.
Yeah man, these tour vlogs were my favorite. I could live the life of a world traveler vicariously through you. But I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
I don't know what is more impressive, your talent or your work ethic. Whatever you do, those two things will see you through. Will miss your touring blogs... It's a side of music I never really thought about much - the lone traveling session player. A man without a band... but a plan.
Thank you for your videos. You have provided so much good information and entertainment. Not to mention you are a bad ass guitar player. I am going through your back catalog of videos and looking forward to what you put out in the future.
dude I just discovered you I gotta say that your documenting ofd your life has shown me how tough a life it is I am 63 and could not do what you're doing, then again when I was 33 maybe i could have,, I am referring to living in close quarters with others, and eating food that I can no longer eat and remain healty like chips and restaurant food..... not that it is terrible it is just not good for a 63 yr old but hey you are still young anyway, thank you for the sharing of your music and life Jeff
Great stuff, Man. Love your spirit... livin' for the music. Luck in all your future endeavors. Lookin' forward to all the content you'll be able to produce, when you're not doing it "on the side."
I get it man. I'm a busy musician too, and it takes it toll on yourself and family. If you are in the position to take some time off the road and can comfortably do that, nothing but respect to you. Btw, you poured your heart into that solo and I felt every note.
I am not sure what you hope the audience gets (got since they are done?) out of the tour vlogs. I just binge-watched all of them! At one point I had hoped for a similar course for myself in life. I mean this with absolute respect - this series was very helpful. Sobering and not at all in a sad or depressing way. It was a very real look at what for some may be a very unreal expectation of pro music life. New subscriber, loving the content, but wanted to say thanks for sharing this with us. I really enjoyed/learned. Appreciate your candor and vulnerability. I feel it was a good use of time and enriching for this viewer.
all I can say is just follow your heart man.. i believe you are much happier now.. that you have more time to do those things you love most.. all the best..
Woomp there it is! Thank you guys for watching and be on the lookout for a bunch of new videos and big announcements!
Hi R.J. Wanted to say good luck with your new adventures, but also, your tour vlogs are some of the best I've seen on youtube. It really makes your channel stand out from all the other gear demo-channels. So I'm hoping there will be more in the future. T.

I'll miss the tour vlogs, but wish you the absolute best and look forward to what you'll do in 2019...blessings!
Thanks patrick!! 😀👍
I feel you on the touring/UA-cam thing. It’s a really hard thing to balance, and that’s a big decision to make. Thanks for sharing dude!

I hope this new direction works out for you. Though I must admit your tour vlog's are my favorite video's.
Good luck :-)
Your tour vlogs are how I found your channel. Love them! I hope it's a shortlived break. The rest of your videos are great too of course.
Enjoyed reading your interview on guitar player magazine. Looking forward to your new stuff. Fan 4 life!
Always enjoy your tour vlogs. People think Touring is glamorous it’s F ing Hard, so you have to to love it. Good luck with 2019 and beyond. Always inspired
