      In a helicopter you can look around for the best, safest, most advantageous, place to land within potentially several hundred kilometers.

    • @SixofQueens
      @SixofQueens 3 роки тому +30

      @@MrSmitheroons Um, actually, both are correct. Yes, there is only one male born every hundred years, but most of the race are conceived between a Gerudo female and males they acquire using...other means..., though I'm sure when the one male is present, probably sires a LOT of offspring, though that last part is conjecture (as far as I know).

    • @MrSmitheroons
      @MrSmitheroons 3 роки тому +1

      I think they do say it's a male Gerudo born every 100 years who becomes the king.
      zelda.gamepedia.com/Gerudo
      zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Gerudo
      (Then again... not everything in Legend of Zelda lore is super consistent from game to game... so maybe in some games the lore is described differently?)
      I have never heard of Gerudos having babies with non-Gerudos. I know they have romances with other races in Breath of the Wild though. Hmmmmm. It does beg the question where all the young Gerudos come from??? Hard for me to say they don't have babies with other races in that case??? But it's not explicitly said... I don't think.
      Maybe it's like eggs in Pokemon. "Nobody knows where Pokemon eggs come from or how it happens" even though it seems pretty obvious that two Pokemon need to be left alone together to make it happen...
      Pretty unlikely a random non-Gerudo trained Ganondorf in the ways of magic. But who's to say? Maybe his dad was a powerful mage? I think the male Gerudo every 100 years is just naturally very powerful, but admittedly that doesn't make much sense.

    • @SixofQueens
      @SixofQueens 3 роки тому +16

      @@MrSmitheroons Yes, it is true that male becomes king, which I'm sure comes with...privileges...though inbetween its not like Gerudo are spawning out of the ground or reproducing asexually, at least not as far as I've ever heard.
      Ganondorf was trained in magic by the witches Koume and Kotake from (primarily) OoT, and was so powerful since he was a vessel for Demise, so he didn't require having a powerful father.

      That depends on which version. Since they referred to Fantasia (even though it was the "mistake" in the question), not Fantastica, they meant the movie, and the movie instantly restored everything when he named the Childlike Empress. It was only in the book, where that was the _midpoint_ of the story, where he had to reimagine Fantastica from scratch after the Nothing destroyed everything.

      I remember this. The whole premise is that Bastian is a lonely kid in the normal world dealing with problems (including the death of his mother) and is reading the Neverending Story to pass the time, slowly realizing that the events of the book are actually happening in another world and not a pre-written novel. When he gets to the point where the "protagonist" in the book finds out that the Empress needs to be named, he mentions offhandedly that he'd name her after his mother that he misses. Then, at the end when he needs to give a name quickly, that's the name he goes with.

    • @SocialistNihilist
      @SocialistNihilist 3 роки тому

      Um, actually... You need to do some more research, there were claims of Caligula -intending- to appoint Incitatus (the horse) Consul, but he never actually went through with it by any historical account. That said, he DID give Incitatus his own house and servants, mockingly make toasts to Incitatus to be a dick to his guests, and tell clergymen that they would soon be replaced by the horse.
      It's pretty commonly accepted that all of these things were comments made in jest/to provoke people. It's also pretty commonly accepted that the go-to method for ruining the public opinion of a disgraced leader was to claim he was an insane sexual degenerate in text.
      And Alexander the Great never deified Bucephalus, he just simply emulated Achilles' reverence for horses in general.
