I called Alex a daughter of Loki in this video, which I've gotten a few upset comments about. I realize I should have said child, not daughter, and that's 100% my mistake. However, as I cited in a couple of comments, Alex doesn't use they/them pronouns, so me referring to her as she/her is correct. I do sometimes switch to he/him, I just didn't in this particular video. Alex also does refer to herself as a daughter of Loki at one point in the books (Hammer of Thor, chapter 11), so really it isn't wrong to call her daughter or son, but I do understand the confusion and will try to be more general. I am determined to reply to every comment about ships I didn't mention in this video! If you comment saying "what about character/character?" and I don't respond, chances are someone else asked earlier and I replied to them! I think that's it. ngl, Solangelo is a really cute ship and I love it but I wouldn't put it in my top 3 fav queer ships(not just in the riordanverse). surprising since Nico is my fav character along with Alex Fierro. I just feel like Fierrochase, Percabeth and even Juniver had way more development than Solangelo during Hidden Oracle but Solangeo is starting to bulldoze it's way to the top 10 after Tower of Nero.
I like Solangelo but I really dislike Percabeth tbh. I think they are realistic, but also quite unhealthy, especially coming from Annabeth's side. They lose their individual personalities completely when they are together.

Percy might've been a reluctant babysitter but I do believe he grew attached to Nico and genuinely cared about him even when he was being painted as a villain by everyone, I hate how in HoO they become almost strangers
and when nico got out of tartarus and was in pain. I get that percy was panicked, but they made him kinda mean. there was never an attempt at an apology or checking in on him. btw I dont hate percy and I understand why he yelled, but I hoped that they'd make up for it somehow later in the book
Percy also came as a huge turn point for Nico's gay awakening. So much was happening to that poor boy in such a short amount of time and things were rough enough for Percy that it would be been nothing short of a toxic Relationship. There was the Hero Worship that was going on, the gay crisis, and despite a settled bond at the end of HOO I'm happy that they decided to stay just friends
YES idk if people just missed it but Percy seemed genuinely concerned for Nico. Outside of guilt, I think he really cared for him as a brother. Was it not constantly there in Percy's POV? It's a little sad they grew apart in between everything, but they were growing and they grew apart and they kind of patched it up at the end of HoO, so that's good, I guess?
I think they were just busy with life and as someone who had a huge crush on someone who was older then me and we were friends after I stopped liking him I really just didnt care about him at all after that and stopped sort of almost idolizing him and noticing his flaws and just wasn't interested in his life at all so maybe that's what happened
@@choiceheidi5529 the way I see it, they never could have worked together. And the only reason why Nico even developed his crush, was due to how lonely he was. He didn’t know anyone really and he was an overly emotional teen. Out of his perspective, Percy was everything he wasn’t. Social, liked, good looking, a legendary swordsman usw. So he just kind of projected onto Percy and confused those feelings of adoration and respect with love, simply because he didn’t know anyone who would teach him the difference.
Percabeth is the best ship from the entire fandom, to the point where I can't even ship them with anyone else, even as a joke. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
I was so glad I was introduced to LGBTQ+ characters in these books when I was younger so that I became more than okay with it in real life. And ope wouldn't you know, I'm now ace. Magnus Chase also jump started my obsession with Norse Mythology, it has consumed me in the best way

I didn’t even know, but supposedly a lot of people think that she’s really abusive and toxic even though I never got that in the least?? Anyways, I really thought that it was amazing the way that the depicted so accurately their relationship- with all the faults, fights, arguments and problems. It was an unfiltered, scalding portrayal of what a real life relationship would be like for them- and it was refreshing to seen them do that dynamic justice. But that’s my opinion, and I respect yours even if it differs!

I love how you ship Thaluke because I absolutely love them. I actually look at them as if Percabeth went wrong. Like, they spent a long time fighting monsters together, watching each others backs, were each others family for awhile, best friends, and then... Thalia dies. Luke spirals due to that and the lack of attention from his father, makes really bad choices, many of which so he can bring Thalia back, and then Thalia rejects his offer to join him because of all that. I just think there's a very tragic quality to their relationship, whether it's romantic or not, and that Rick did it to parallel actual Greek tragedies.
I absolutely love Thaluke. They're too overlooked by the fandom but still one of the most tragic riordanverse ships. I'm not a huge fan of Luke but if does break my heart to think about how different his life could have been if Thalia hadn't been turned into a tree.

I feel this too! I think as a young teen I wanted the snarky dramatic stuff, but now I just find Frazel so wholesome and comforting (esp soft Frank meets caring and strong Hazel) and I honestly think that's superior. (and maybe a better role model relationship for kids)
Yeah I ship Sadie and Anubis. They're really cute together in my opinion. Also Egyptian gods/goddess seem to have a little bit better morals then greek gods (but I still like them)
YESS on both points. A comfy, natural relationship just hits better because that's how relationships are supposed to be! Sadie x Anubis was also natural and I distinctly remember really liking their ship. Anubis was not just a brooding bad boy (as I kind of hate that trope sometimes). He was actually pretty caring and sweet and probably much more but I can't remember. I also don't remember how I felt about Sadie x Walt but I did find the end a little weird and convenient. "Oh well. Works out in the end," kind of thought, I guess? This thought process maybe from having another love interest when I was already invested in Sadie and Anubis. I probably got confused along the way lol. I mean, it's kind of a good shot at poly (with some technicalities) and for once the main girl doesn't have to make the dreadful choice between two decent love interests when she clearly liked both.
I thought that when I first read it at 12, then I came back as a 17 year old and Frank being 16 with Hazel being 13 really threw me off, it's a big age difference when you're a teenager because you grow so quickly from 13 to 16 that it's completely different levels of maturity and life positions, kinda sickening tbh
honestly i can only see them as friends-of-friends. nico's fatal flaw is that he holds a grudge, so i think no matter how much he's forgiven percy he would still keep his distance a little. percy sees nico as more of a younger cousin, since he doesn't dote on him like jason does or even think about him that much outside of feeling guilty. i feel like they'd mostly interact with a mutual friend present (e.g. annabeth, jason) since they'd be awkward alone.

I think piper is bi. What she had with Jason was real, but being the daughter of Aphrodite always being under expectations she needed time to find herself and explore her other options without the crushing heterosexuality expectations and being Aphrodite’s daughter expectations. Also, their entire relationship was formed on the Argo II. Remember how Piper said “what, you thought we were forever like Percy and Annabeth?” She was being too hard on herself. Percy and Annabeth built their relationship on years of friendship and trust together. When piper met Annabeth and Percy, it looked like they were the perfect couple, but at that time they had already known each other for six years. So yeah, not only was Jiper built on the Argo II, it was also built when the world was in the processs of getting destroyed, so they didn’t really have time to take it slow. Edit: the reason I think piper is bi or other…. Is because her gf at the end of tower of Nero. I realize i didn’t say it in the og post but I thought it would be obvious since I wouldn’t guess a character to be canonically queer without clear evidence

Solangelo is LIFE! It's my #1 OTP! The light and dark dynamic is so adorable and as a lesbian, having a canon gay relationship in my favorite book series is AMAZING!!! Also Nico is my absolute favorite character so if he's happy I'm overjoyed!!!!!! :)
Also knowing that a side story on them is coming 🤩🤩 like finally Nico was on the front line in all THREE wars throughout the demigod series, he deserves more attention, has literally bypassed even Percy as a legendary hero
Annabeth and Reyna did bond very quickly over the common burden of acting as a stoic leader, putting their feelings (especially fears) aside for the good of the others. They became fast friends, even if that “friendship” was fragile for obvious reasons. Reyna literally said “I will do this for Annabeth” before she went for Athena Parthenos. She also hugged Annabeth after promising her that they would succed. I did feel chemistry between them, tho not the romantic kind. I wish we got to see more of their friendship later on. PS Thank you for pointing out the Patroclus and Achilles reference in Silena and Clarrisse. It’s such an amazing nod to the original mythology that many people miss. I do ship these two.

50% of the reason I even read Heroes of Olympus was for Percabeth Moments. Their ship is peak fiction and my heart has never been happier than when I read The Last Olympian for the first time when I was 15 and they got together. Alex Fierro phrased it perfectly, “If those two were any cuter together they would cause a nuclear explosion of cuteness and blow up the eastern seaboard.”
When I was younger I was super into the obscure Lico/Neo ship which was Nico/Leo because they both were always left out of things on the Argo. The dynamic of quiet, sarcastic Nico and class clown Leo really got me.
Leo was so judge mental and would make fun of nico tho, I agreed the dynamic would be cute but he was so rude to him while nico was always kind back and deeply cared about him when he “died”

As someone who's been in a lot of fandoms including both PJ and Danganronpa I can safely say the whole "shipping characters with inanimate objects as a joke" was less exclusive to certain fandoms and more a collective phase the internet went through together.

ACCUALLY FOR PIPABETH: it's unintentionally canon. Let me explain. So in MoA when Piper is practicing her lines at the beginning with her charmspeak, Annabeth notes that she had an "filling her with the desire to drop her dagger and have a nice long chat." Remember that Annabeth KNOWS Piper is using her charmspeak. Later in HoH, when Piper is confronting Khione, she thinks, "Charmspeak worked to poorly if the person wasn't attracted to you. ... And it worked poorly when your victim knew about trying to speak and was actively on guard against it." The charmspeak worked on Annabeth when she knew it was charmspeak, thus she is attracted to Piper *mic drop* (plz note, I got this from someone in Tik Tok, but I don't remember who exactly and did not realize this myself)

I'm so happy that Fierrochase got an S tear because I LOVE it. Alex has always meant a lot to me as a character because she's not only amazing but also one of my first introductions to the concept of anything past the two binary genders. She's one of the reasons I figured out that I'm not cisgender and that gender can be fluid. Non-cis characters often get treated really poorly but she wasn't, the fact that Magnus had feelings for her showed me that being trans didn't mean I couldn't be loved (which seems like a crazy thing to believe but I was like 12).

HOW DID I FORGET PIPEYNA? Ohhhhhh boy okay so I'd rank Pipeyna under Cute, it's wild that I forgot it. They had a couple good moments together in Blood of Olympus, one scene in the end in particular where they're talking about Aphrodite's vague love messages they both got and there's some hints there, but not a ton of interaction past that that I can remember.
Honestly, when I read Burning Maze, I thought that was where it was going. I mean think about it, Jason has two girls fall for him, and it doesn’t turnout well. Yet both of the exes (sort of) get together. It makes sense.
I shipped Percico when I finished Héroes of Olympus but when I reread the first books I realized I was just projecting the fact that I was gay on Nico and I hadn’t realized it yet 🤠
I've read the Magnus Chase books and I agree that Alex Fierro/Magnus Chase is one of the best ships in the books. There was so many cute scenes that hinted towards the pairing, too
The thing about the Anubis ship that worked for me is that riordan balanced it through his explanation of mythology. the gods personality is based on the movement of society. Although he is an ancient being in a lot of ways the role he is cast in by his stories also means that he is basically a teenager. If Zeus is a high powered business men who likes coffee on seventh avenue simply because that’s the current personification of his identity then it also makes sense that Anubis identifys as young, with the same thoughts, feelings and instincts that implies. And although it’s weird (and I appreciate that even Sadie thought it was weird) I can even get behind the 3TP of Walt/Anubis/Sadie. I genuinely appreciated the cleverness of how they solved Walts curse, I hadn’t seen it coming and it made sense. Following from that I wouldn’t want that to mean Walt/Anubis lived forever alone. They had to merge in order to survive, but it would be tragic if that became the end of any hope for love. And if they where to eventually find love it should be with a person who is in know on their circumstances. The fact that they are merged needs to be in the open for any meaningful relationship to develop. And if all that is true then it follows that Sadie works well with them, having chemistry with both, being in the know, and struggling but eventually finding a way to balance the new reality. Honestly I ship it, probably a C+ or even B from me. Usually I share your reticence regarding immortals with teenagers, but there are exceptions. Malic from the Mortal Instruments, RoseGarden from RWBY, and even this ship all find a way to coexist despite the challenges.
Sadie and Anubis is odd from an Egyptian POV, but if he were a Greek god this ship would have sailed so hard... Not sure if Piper ys bi or gay, but her current relationship feels a bit like "ok, let's toss someone at her so she has a relationship at the end; gods forbid she becomes comfortable being single": a random character who we only get to glimpse at for a moment. Shipping Leo and Hazel is easy at first because for so many people (me included) Leo is a much better character, but you're right about her relationship with Frank being much better than it would have been with Leo.
When solangelo came on I was so worried you weren't gonna put it under OTP coz ngl- it helped me through my sexuality crisis when I was like 11 and questioning LITERALLY everything. Anyways, now I'm in a gender crisis and Alex is my comfort character- pfft-
I'm honestly a bit sad that Sadie x Leo wasn't mentioned, even if it would have gone in the NOTP. That ship haunts my nightmares because of the things that you know would happen if they were to fall in love, but you can also see why people ship it in contrast to Sadie's current relationship which is just a weird and ✨ q u i r k y ✨ way to solve a love triangle. Honestly the only reason I don't ship it myself is because I quite like the way the Riordanverse is structured right now and if Sadie and Leo were a thing you know they would just FUCK that shit UP in the name of doing whatever the hell they want. Honestly, I’ve always wondered how a relationship between Percy, Annabeth, Piper, and Jason would be like . I feel like Percy and Piper would just share Jason and Annabeth cause they never really interact and Piper thinks he’s ‘unimpressive’ but I feel like even though we don’t get much Jason and Annabeth interactions, I think they have a lot in common and could be good together (in a poly couple, I feel like I wouldn’t ship them if it was just both of them) It just seems like such an interesting dynamic. Anyone agree??
I think I’ve read a single Percy/Annabeth/Jason/Piper fic, and I’ve never seen much discussion about it, but I’ve absolutely thought about Jasabeth in depth and I think they have a lot of potential and it’s a shame they hardly interact at all in canon. The dynamic between all four of them would be interesting. I’ve seen a decent amount of fun Pipercy headcanons where they’re just rebellious delinquents who charm their way out of trouble and I love that.
@@LiteraryPrincess I feel like my reasons for not thinking Pipercy wouldn’t be together in that specific relationship come off as superficial so I kinda want to clear it up (even tho u never said anything abt it, I overthink too much) Percy and Piper barely even have thoughts about one another, I am almost sure that Percy never voices an opinion on Piper in the books like say Annabeth who said that she didn’t quite trust Jason. Percys pov has only ever acknowledged her when they’re in a certain situation together (ie the scene where they almost drowned) same for Piper. Other than her first thoughts on him and whenever she talks with Annabeth abt him I feel like she doesn’t acknowledge him. I might be completely wrong, I haven’t read the books in a long time but yeah. I have also seen some tumblr posts about Percy and Piper being mischievous and stuff and I always liked them. I think if they had established a friendship in the books I’d be more open to them as a ship. Sorry this is long
That's the biggest shame about the HoO series for me, like we had such a great cast of characters but not enough bonding and interaction so we only have our imagination to create connections between them bc some of them would've been so cool together, romantic or otherwise like nerdy Jason and annabeth, delinquent reckless duo Percy and piper etc
Meg doesn't really have any characters her age to ship her with, and she's still fairly young (to be fair, though, Percy and Annabeth got a lot of ship tease when they were 12, and Sadie and Hazel both were in relationships at 13, so her being 12 doesn't really change too much about her shippability). I love her and Apollo's dynamic, and I also adored Meg's interactions with Grover, Piper, Will, Rachel, Sally, Paul, and Nico especially. Lots of platonic love for Meg, but no real romantic possibilities. I like to think she'd maybe fall for one of the minor demigods introduced in ToN in the future. Shipping her with a child of Apollo would be a cute idea.
I'm honestly surprised that there's not a ship for Apollo and the Arrow of Dodona... not that I think there should be a ship but i'd think of that before Jason x Brick. Percabeth were always good but since they went through literal hell together I think they're stronger than ever. Totally agree with your rankings, Alex x Magnus are the mega otp.
Going off of the Rachel x Annabeth dynamic (mentioned at 13:02), two characters that remind me of that pairing is Pip and Rooney from one of my fave young adult novels Loveless by Alice Oseman. Would recommend. It's about an Ace/Aro girl called Georgia figuring out her sexuality and her relationship with love. Also a slow burn wlw relationship between her best friend (Pip) and her roommate (Rooney).

Percy might've been a reluctant babysitter but I do believe he grew attached to Nico and genuinely cared about him even when he was being painted as a villain by everyone, I hate how in HoO they become almost strangers
and when nico got out of tartarus and was in pain. I get that percy was panicked, but they made him kinda mean. there was never an attempt at an apology or checking in on him. btw I dont hate percy and I understand why he yelled, but I hoped that they'd make up for it somehow later in the book
Percy also came as a huge turn point for Nico's gay awakening. So much was happening to that poor boy in such a short amount of time and things were rough enough for Percy that it would be been nothing short of a toxic Relationship. There was the Hero Worship that was going on, the gay crisis, and despite a settled bond at the end of HOO I'm happy that they decided to stay just friends
YES idk if people just missed it but Percy seemed genuinely concerned for Nico. Outside of guilt, I think he really cared for him as a brother. Was it not constantly there in Percy's POV? It's a little sad they grew apart in between everything, but they were growing and they grew apart and they kind of patched it up at the end of HoO, so that's good, I guess?
I think they were just busy with life and as someone who had a huge crush on someone who was older then me and we were friends after I stopped liking him I really just didnt care about him at all after that and stopped sort of almost idolizing him and noticing his flaws and just wasn't interested in his life at all so maybe that's what happened

He didn’t know anyone really and he was an overly emotional teen. Out of his perspective, Percy was everything he wasn’t. Social, liked, good looking, a legendary swordsman usw.
So he just kind of projected onto Percy and confused those feelings of adoration and respect with love, simply because he didn’t know anyone who would teach him the difference.
Percabeth is the best ship from the entire fandom, to the point where I can't even ship them with anyone else, even as a joke. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Anyways, I really thought that it was amazing the way that the depicted so accurately their relationship- with all the faults, fights, arguments and problems. It was an unfiltered, scalding portrayal of what a real life relationship would be like for them- and it was refreshing to seen them do that dynamic justice. But that’s my opinion, and I respect yours even if it differs!

Luke spirals due to that and the lack of attention from his father, makes really bad choices, many of which so he can bring Thalia back, and then Thalia rejects his offer to join him because of all that. I just think there's a very tragic quality to their relationship, whether it's romantic or not, and that Rick did it to parallel actual Greek tragedies.

Sadie x Anubis was also natural and I distinctly remember really liking their ship. Anubis was not just a brooding bad boy (as I kind of hate that trope sometimes). He was actually pretty caring and sweet and probably much more but I can't remember. I also don't remember how I felt about Sadie x Walt but I did find the end a little weird and convenient. "Oh well. Works out in the end," kind of thought, I guess? This thought process maybe from having another love interest when I was already invested in Sadie and Anubis. I probably got confused along the way lol. I mean, it's kind of a good shot at poly (with some technicalities) and for once the main girl doesn't have to make the dreadful choice between two decent love interests when she clearly liked both.
I thought that when I first read it at 12, then I came back as a 17 year old and Frank being 16 with Hazel being 13 really threw me off, it's a big age difference when you're a teenager because you grow so quickly from 13 to 16 that it's completely different levels of maturity and life positions, kinda sickening tbh

I think piper is bi. What she had with Jason was real, but being the daughter of Aphrodite always being under expectations she needed time to find herself and explore her other options without the crushing heterosexuality expectations and being Aphrodite’s daughter expectations. Also, their entire relationship was formed on the Argo II. Remember how Piper said “what, you thought we were forever like Percy and Annabeth?” She was being too hard on herself. Percy and Annabeth built their relationship on years of friendship and trust together. When piper met Annabeth and Percy, it looked like they were the perfect couple, but at that time they had already known each other for six years. So yeah, not only was Jiper built on the Argo II, it was also built when the world was in the processs of getting destroyed, so they didn’t really have time to take it slow.

Annabeth and Reyna did bond very quickly over the common burden of acting as a stoic leader, putting their feelings (especially fears) aside for the good of the others. They became fast friends, even if that “friendship” was fragile for obvious reasons. Reyna literally said “I will do this for Annabeth” before she went for Athena Parthenos. She also hugged Annabeth after promising her that they would succed. I did feel chemistry between them, tho not the romantic kind. I wish we got to see more of their friendship later on.
PS Thank you for pointing out the Patroclus and Achilles reference in Silena and Clarrisse. It’s such an amazing nod to the original mythology that many people miss. I do ship these two.

So in MoA when Piper is practicing her lines at the beginning with her charmspeak, Annabeth notes that she had an "filling her with the desire to drop her dagger and have a nice long chat." Remember that Annabeth KNOWS Piper is using her charmspeak. Later in HoH, when Piper is confronting Khione, she thinks, "Charmspeak worked to poorly if the person wasn't attracted to you. ... And it worked poorly when your victim knew about trying to speak and was actively on guard against it." The charmspeak worked on Annabeth when she knew it was charmspeak, thus she is attracted to Piper *mic drop* (plz note, I got this from someone in Tik Tok, but I don't remember who exactly and did not realize this myself)

I'm so happy that Fierrochase got an S tear because I LOVE it. Alex has always meant a lot to me as a character because she's not only amazing but also one of my first introductions to the concept of anything past the two binary genders. She's one of the reasons I figured out that I'm not cisgender and that gender can be fluid. Non-cis characters often get treated really poorly but she wasn't, the fact that Magnus had feelings for her showed me that being trans didn't mean I couldn't be loved (which seems like a crazy thing to believe but I was like 12).
Fierrochase is probably one of the only few canon ships I ship, it's amazing.

HOW DID I FORGET PIPEYNA? Ohhhhhh boy okay so I'd rank Pipeyna under Cute, it's wild that I forgot it. They had a couple good moments together in Blood of Olympus, one scene in the end in particular where they're talking about Aphrodite's vague love messages they both got and there's some hints there, but not a ton of interaction past that that I can remember.

Honestly, when I read Burning Maze, I thought that was where it was going. I mean think about it, Jason has two girls fall for him, and it doesn’t turnout well. Yet both of the exes (sort of) get together. It makes sense.

The thing about the Anubis ship that worked for me is that riordan balanced it through his explanation of mythology. the gods personality is based on the movement of society. Although he is an ancient being in a lot of ways the role he is cast in by his stories also means that he is basically a teenager. If Zeus is a high powered business men who likes coffee on seventh avenue simply because that’s the current personification of his identity then it also makes sense that Anubis identifys as young, with the same thoughts, feelings and instincts that implies. And although it’s weird (and I appreciate that even Sadie thought it was weird) I can even get behind the 3TP of Walt/Anubis/Sadie. I genuinely appreciated the cleverness of how they solved Walts curse, I hadn’t seen it coming and it made sense. Following from that I wouldn’t want that to mean Walt/Anubis lived forever alone. They had to merge in order to survive, but it would be tragic if that became the end of any hope for love. And if they where to eventually find love it should be with a person who is in know on their circumstances. The fact that they are merged needs to be in the open for any meaningful relationship to develop. And if all that is true then it follows that Sadie works well with them, having chemistry with both, being in the know, and struggling but eventually finding a way to balance the new reality. Honestly I ship it, probably a C+ or even B from me. Usually I share your reticence regarding immortals with teenagers, but there are exceptions. Malic from the Mortal Instruments, RoseGarden from RWBY, and even this ship all find a way to coexist despite the challenges.
Hearthstone and Blitzen totally have the best bromance of the entire Riordan universe, no question.

Not sure if Piper ys bi or gay, but her current relationship feels a bit like "ok, let's toss someone at her so she has a relationship at the end; gods forbid she becomes comfortable being single": a random character who we only get to glimpse at for a moment.
Shipping Leo and Hazel is easy at first because for so many people (me included) Leo is a much better character, but you're right about her relationship with Frank being much better than it would have been with Leo.
Piper was confirmed bi at the end of The Tower of Nero, the last book of Trails of Apollo

That ship haunts my nightmares because of the things that you know would happen if they were to fall in love, but you can also see why people ship it in contrast to Sadie's current relationship which is just a weird and ✨ q u i r k y ✨ way to solve a love triangle. Honestly the only reason I don't ship it myself is because I quite like the way the Riordanverse is structured right now and if Sadie and Leo were a thing you know they would just FUCK that shit UP in the name of doing whatever the hell they want. Honestly, I’ve always wondered how a relationship between Percy, Annabeth, Piper, and Jason would be like . I feel like Percy and Piper would just share Jason and Annabeth cause they never really interact and Piper thinks he’s ‘unimpressive’ but I feel like even though we don’t get much Jason and Annabeth interactions, I think they have a lot in common and could be good together (in a poly couple, I feel like I wouldn’t ship them if it was just both of them) It just seems like such an interesting dynamic.

I think I’ve read a single Percy/Annabeth/Jason/Piper fic, and I’ve never seen much discussion about it, but I’ve absolutely thought about Jasabeth in depth and I think they have a lot of potential and it’s a shame they hardly interact at all in canon. The dynamic between all four of them would be interesting. I’ve seen a decent amount of fun Pipercy headcanons where they’re just rebellious delinquents who charm their way out of trouble and I love that.

Percy and Piper barely even have thoughts about one another, I am almost sure that Percy never voices an opinion on Piper in the books like say Annabeth who said that she didn’t quite trust Jason.
Percys pov has only ever acknowledged her when they’re in a certain situation together (ie the scene where they almost drowned) same for Piper. Other than her first thoughts on him and whenever she talks with Annabeth abt him I feel like she doesn’t acknowledge him.
I might be completely wrong, I haven’t read the books in a long time but yeah. I have also seen some tumblr posts about Percy and Piper being mischievous and stuff and I always liked them. I think if they had established a friendship in the books I’d be more open to them as a ship.

That's the biggest shame about the HoO series for me, like we had such a great cast of characters but not enough bonding and interaction so we only have our imagination to create connections between them bc some of them would've been so cool together, romantic or otherwise like nerdy Jason and annabeth, delinquent reckless duo Percy and piper etc

Meg doesn't really have any characters her age to ship her with, and she's still fairly young (to be fair, though, Percy and Annabeth got a lot of ship tease when they were 12, and Sadie and Hazel both were in relationships at 13, so her being 12 doesn't really change too much about her shippability). I love her and Apollo's dynamic, and I also adored Meg's interactions with Grover, Piper, Will, Rachel, Sally, Paul, and Nico especially. Lots of platonic love for Meg, but no real romantic possibilities. I like to think she'd maybe fall for one of the minor demigods introduced in ToN in the future. Shipping her with a child of Apollo would be a cute idea.

Going off of the Rachel x Annabeth dynamic (mentioned at 13:02), two characters that remind me of that pairing is Pip and Rooney from one of my fave young adult novels Loveless by Alice Oseman. Would recommend. It's about an Ace/Aro girl called Georgia figuring out her sexuality and her relationship with love. Also a slow burn wlw relationship between her best friend (Pip) and her roommate (Rooney).
