I love your setting with both outdoor and indoor rooms for the birds. The sun is the best vitamin source for their health. Great. I just have a question, how do you feed them water? Do you happen to have a solution for the least maintenance but fresh water source for them?
They are establishing dominance. If you see that the female has selected a male them separate that pair on their own so that they can start breeding with out other males bothering them.
Birdnerd, how hot does it get where you are? I have seen a few Breeder's with outdoor Aviaries having their birds die this year due to 117 degrees in Florida. I live in Texas about 45mins. North of Dallas. Our backyard can reach 120 ° in the summer due to concrete heating up & it never cools off until Fall & winter time.
Hi Chris, I love your videos! Can you tell me, is there any significance in the colouring on the beak? Do males have a reddish beak, and the females have a bit of black shading near the tip of their beak?
Hi Chris, I'm back. I have a young pair who have mated and they suddenly discovered the nest box. The Red Head male has been very attentive and has been very busy the whole time making the nest. My hen, who's partly red head sat in the nest box for the past 3 weeks, and I finally decided to have a peek in the nest box last Sunday. She had 2 eggs, however I now know they are not fertile. She stopped siting on the nest a few days ago now. This is their first nest, so I know to be patient, and we may be lucky the next time 'round. My question is, should I remove the eggs or will they eventually discard them?
Yes, I have kept mine together. Zebras tend to be more pushy and aggressive when breeding and could discourage your gouldians from successfully breeding.

How prevent the fighting between males. I have 2 and 3 females but once they start singing the other will come and fight

My Gouldians have nested in a basket nest (round) will they be successful or is it too shallow and kick the young out?
Yes they should be ok.
Wise idea to have a separate breeding/nesting room! Notes taken, thanks for the video and info.
Thank you

Are you referring to gouldian finches? If so the females entire beak turns black when they are ready to breed and the males beaks turn a pearly white.

can gualdian finches be kept with zebra finches in an aviary

Can you touch eggs to put them with serogates
Lol...I can tell you have kids. (Itty pieces). Great video.
Haha yeah the like to hang around while I do videos.
what kind of candler do you have and where did you buy it?
I use a simple small flashlight to candle the eggs.
Hello from Bruxelles
Tray to giving ( QUINOA )
Boilet its the best for gouldians
Yes I have given that before and the birds loved it
What type of lighting do you recommend and how many hours/day
How much do they cost to buy one?
It really depends on where your at and the availability of the birds in your location. Around here they sell for $80-100.
I ran across a candler (flash light) on www.glamousgouldians.com but it probably is more expensive than a small flashlight.

Can you elaborate a little more about the Strawberry Finches & what makes them so special? I am interested. Thank-you.
How my it cost for a pair finches.
Wiuh
Hey can you do a vid on single pair breeding them?
I do have some old videos of single pair breeding on the gouldians. If i put them into breeding cages this year then I will do some videos on them.
