I love that they talked to her about her options and not just the mom.
Yes I love that.
Same
I agree. I’m sure it makes the kids feel less scared when they get talked to and not talked over.
@@MamaKnoesEverything yes happened to me before ! I got pushed out the room when they where deciding what to do and I never knew until after. Going over it with the child is definitely best.
Called gillick competency :)
I love how she’s hurt badly, but she’s still smiling and acting very chill. She’s so brave.

@@miamassie9605 omg hello!!
I was a volunteer EMT and I heard many times that the femur bone is the most painful bone to break, so this girl is straight up tough. I'd be cryin' as a full grown adult.
In the video or when you worked as a EMT volunteer
@@beckytwyford1972 When I worked as a volunteer. :)
i always thought it was your pelvis, then your femur lol
@@daddypig6591 I would imagine that would hurt too, I believe the most painful goes from like femur, tailbone and ribs.
The femur is the hardest I think
Damn she didn't look like she was in pain at all. My friend broke her femur and she was SCREAMING. Every little movement caused her to screch
i was in a lot of shock when it happened! but i was fine when i got to the hospital, and my leg was back into position
I assume the gas and air she was on would've helped temporarily. As I've dislocated my hip, they're usually quick to do either gaseous pain relieve or IV which would mean you don't really feel the pain. :)
I broke my tibia all the way through and cracked my fibula and I called my friends and was laughing 😂 idk what’s wrong with me
Bianca Walker yeah she did. But I think it was really bad because it was at school because someone ran into her, they didn't think she broke it. So she had to try stand up. Then she went to the docter across the street, tyen went in an ambulance.
Pain meds!
What lovely children! I also like the way the doctor talked to the 12-year-old as if she were an adult. She deserves to feel involved in the decision making.
He said first year of high school. That means 14

This brings tears to my eyes. My son attempted a new trick on a trampoline breaking both bones in his underarm, through the skin. He had surgery that day to place a metal rod into each bone, the entire length of each. Just a few days ago, 4 months later, he just had surgery to remove the two metal rods. All this during a global pandemic. He did and is doing great. Me, the mother is still a little worse for wear.
Blessings to all the amazing doctors and nurses out there.
omg i hope he’s had a good recovery!! im the girl in the video and im waiting to get my plates out, im hoping it doesn’t hold back for too long due to the pandemic💗💗

The older sister probably feels terrible about injuring her sister as well.
if i wasn’t carrying my sister either of us would of been badly hurt, with the weight of my sister landing on top of me made it 10x worse
@@miamassie9605 You are completely badass how amazingly you dealt with your injury. In 15 years of emergency nursing the only other person I’ve seen so calm was a paraplegic who had no feeling below his waist.

Idk how she is so calm. I've broken my femur twice I never been in so much pain. Body went into shock and I was out of it. I have fibrous dysplasia and how she handled the break was mind blowing for me. Truly amazing. I need the drugs you guys have over there. My stress fractures I get on a regular basis have me in more pain than her, tough kid
I think she may have some type of femur deficiency because it would be almost impossible to break your femur just by falling but anyways yeah she’s pretty tough the femur is the worst bone too break in your body
@@RhettMueller864 if agree probably fibrous dysplasia or something similar or she was just very unlucky
Breaking your femur is no joke. It's the most painful break imaginable and takes the most force to break. How this girl had a smile on her face is beyond me. Holy crap she's tough.
thank you!! much appreciated
I know wow she’s soooo brave

Aberdeens Children’s hospital is the best hospital in the world. Whenever I go there everyone is so nice. The staff is nice. My brother has had to go there since forever. I’m pretty sure there was a nurse in this program looked after my brother when he was in there, like ages ago. Honestly couldn’t recommend this children hospital any more.
When I got diagnosed with my illness as a child, I was seen at Sick Children's in Toronto Canada and was seen there for 11 years. They did everything they could to make me comfortable. They will always have a special place in my heart for what they did to try to help me.

how did she act literally calm while braking the most painful bone to brake in the body
big respect she had to go all of this calm while fully grown adults actually cry from the pain-
I have to say they were one of the cutest little ones.
I must say Thank You for the wonderful help you give the children ..I have real true friends that have their homes and homes

This gives me massive nostalgia, I broke my femur twice between 2019-2020 and it was easily one of the worst experiences of my life. Condolences and prayers for Mia.
Demi reminds me of my little sister, they are about the same age ❤️ and the bond between sisters is like me and my lil sis ❤️hopefully both of you recovered!
I made a joke to myself that the narrator sounded like David Tennant. I then told myself it probably wasn't because I'm just not very used to strong scottish accents, but then I found it it really is David Tennant lol.

It's great to be able to download this video, I've seen it on the TV many times, thanks
I broke my femur when I was almost killed in a very serious accident when I was 13 years old in 1987 I think they should have amputated my leg instead of putting me in traction for 25 days
oh my god she literally took that so well what a legend
thank you!
It's nice to see the doctor talking to the youngsters instead of making decisions without their input! Children are all too often ignored.
aw the ending made me cry. Theyre so sweet and I hope they stay close forever

I love how they tell her about the options not just the mum because when I was hit by a car last year they took my mam outside to tell her the options

The little sister is so adorable .
I broke my tibia and femur in a sledding accident when I was 6 (went right into a tree). I don’t remember it being painful, but instead I remember trying to get back up on it and falling back down.

Such a sweet story!!
Multiple broken bones here due to a bone disorder and I will vouch that leg fractures are so much more painful than anything else. This girl's so tough that I wouldn't be surprised to hear she's into sports or MMA or pro wrestling when she's 18.
