Ferry Flores to Sumba Indonesia

- Today after two weeks on the wonderful island of Flores we take the public ferry across to Sumba. We have decided to document it as we didn’t find much information on this journey online, turns out we were the only westerners on this huge ferry. The journey from Ende in Flores to Waingapu in Sumba took a total of 9hrs which we would recommend doing if time is on your side as it’s a very cheap mode of transport. At the time of doing this video there were no direct flights from Flores to Sumba, we would have to fly back to Bali then fly to Sumba. Also for us it seemed a bit more interesting doing this journey with the locals who treated us super well. Turns out this ferry goes from Flores to Sumba to west Nusa then lastly to Bali which takes 2 days and is a popular choice among the locals.
There seem to be other ports in Flores you can get a ferry from as well such as Aemere and Labuan Bajo but since we went to see Kelimutu near Ende it was the logical decision for us. We hope you enjoy this video and find it informative if you decide to make this journey.

Hello, we received conflicting information by asking around, also couldn’t find much online, also no WhatsApp. I would recommend finding the ticketing office in Waingapu, if you drive to the harbour they can give information or maybe your hotel. It’s very old school.
