Don't care what some will say, but the best ever "Everything counts" live performance was way back in Pasadena. Rose Bowl. 101. And the crowd... the crowd was the 5-th member of them D⚘M.

I know. My daughter is up in Chicago hearing them RIGHT NOW!!! I have been not well for a few months, so I couldn't go. I'm 73 and she is 45. I am SOOOO glad she is up there. I knew who they were before she did and I'll never get over groups like this. I love them.
I went to the Vegas show the week after this one, and this was a standout. The energy for this song felt a little extra special than on previous tours. Thanks for sharing!

@@paulhiggins6024 EXACTLY ... there are some electronic bands (whose sound is more techno than that of DM) that use a live drummer on stage and in their cases it works fine ( the Prodigy, Soulwax ...) BUT in the case of DM that drummer simply ruins all their songs !!!!

IMHO, they should only use a live drummer for the songs that used one on the studio version. They did this on the SOFAD tour, but then again, you would need a multi-instrumentalist like Alan Wilder to pull this off.
It depends on the song. For the early 80s electro-pop songs the live drums doesn't sound right. For the songs from the mid 90s like from SOFAD and Ultra that were recorded with more live instruments, it sounds far better.
I have to say this particular crowd is WEAK! I’ve seen DM twice live, at the Silver Dome and Oine Knob/DTE in Detroit, and when they played “Everything Counts” for the “86/98” & “Exciter” tours, not only did 95% of the crowd know 95% of the lyrics to 95% of EVERY SONG, *everyone* was wildly swinging their arms back and forth in the air and smiling, filled with 10’s of thousands of terrific people! This concert was performed well, it’s the audience that that’s limp! In Michigan the crowd kept the song going all on our own for another 19 minutes before triple encores! Just a minute’s worth here? Wake up, attendees! And “fans” have no excuse for being THIS tame! Shake the Disease, folks!
@@sideswipe1261 yeah. You're right. But also note that the majority of people at this concert are 80's generation. Today's youth doesn't care about going to massive gigs.
@@foxyforest4550 it’s true. I can’t believe all the shows are always sold out and people are big money to see them when they’re playing the same backing tracks and the extended versions of the songs. For me personally, Depeche Mode ended when Alan Wilder left in 1995.

Virtually the same backing track as the last tour. They need to update the arrangements so it’s not the same thing each tour.
They need Alan for that... He's been remaking backtapes every tour
They played the same backing track for the CTA, SGR, BC and MFTM tours remember? It's ok if they decide to play it for two tours in a row.
