Really enjoyed the video! I'm also thinking about going into Knitwear. I was wondering if you had any tips on how to create knitwear textures in Illustrator?
I’m glad you enjoyed the video and am excited to hear you’re thinking about going into Knitwear! Textures are certainly something that take time to get a hand for creating in Illustrator. A good place to start is deciding on whether you want them to be a little more realistic, with each knit ‘V’ or purl 〰️ outlined, or have them represented by solid lines for knit wales and blank space for purls/reverse jersey (as we like to call it in the industry). For creating swatches, they do have to be perfect repeats, so think about where the repeat cuts off stitches. Same thing for brushes, but the stitch will have to be rotated to be in a horizontal position for the brush repeat. Idk why, but that’s how it’s programmed. Just like anything, the more you do them, the easier and better they turn out!
@@Iyale-g2w you could make development/proto samples for designers and/or companies. If you already know how to sketch or learn how to sketch designs, you’d be a great designer!
1 video like = 1 person changing their career and winning at it! 🏆
