Yeah, I was sad because I thought they just abandoned this channel. I don't really watch the yogscast much these days, but I love their Games Night videos.
I love learning other peoples home brew rules on how to play magic. Thats why I think its such a great game, you dont have to follow the meta to have fun.
I hope we're getting some more videos of you guys in the future. They're just the best on UA-cam for the games you play. A pleasure to follow the games with the nice editing and camera work!
If you're talking about Ben's Jace's Victory play, he was tapped out on mana so that actually was the end of his turn. If not, feel free to castigate me as a moron who commented before watching the whole video.
@@AnEnemySpy456 From the sequence of play it looked like Ben was still making plays in his turn after the draw. I could be misinterpreting his actions but I'm certain he played something after the discard, which would of left him at max.
LOL Lewis drawing a card at the end of his first turn of the 2nd game and then drawing another at the beginning of his turn. . . interesting house rules there, Lewis ;D
He actually didn't draw at the beginning of his turn(I went back to check) so while he did technically do things in the wrong order, he didn't draw any extra cards.
You don’t get land starved too often if you plan well, but when you do it’s super annoying, more often you get land flooded and have no creatures but that’s just part of the game
The "Lewis House Rules" are very similar to the "introductory" rules I have for teaching new players. I have preconstructed mono and dual color decks that I seperate the lands from feom the spells, then allow the new player to start a hand with 4 lands and 3 random spells. Then I shuffle both decks together like normal. Basically a loaded hand.
I mean, people have been generally pleased to see new content. This tiny corner of people arguing about people being critical (including me) may be the most argumentative and critical.
They have very recently changed the official mulligan rule to help smooth out mana issues within the starting hand. the new rule is called the "London Mulligan" and i think you guys should check it out. Also there is alot of the game that revolves around the trade in value of cards that is lost when you can draw an active card every turn without fail. just some thoughts, not super rage xD
There's actually an existing TCG called Force of Will that plays a lot like Magic and uses Lewis' special rule but the game is designed around that mechanic so it works a lot better XD
20:07 You can tell by Lewis' smile and his tone of voice that what he means here is "Wow! You've really screwed up here by not playing this after some cheap planeswalkers" (especially since I'm not sure Ben realised it begins with loyalty counters from ALL your PWs not just one of them.
I love the Cruel Celebrant. Got a white/black/green deck that just wins by playing billions of tokens and sacrificing them to drain the opponent for dozens of life (and draw cards with Liliana and Midnight Reaper)
Finally. I wanna see them play more Arena, to be honest. I have a bunch of ridiculously OP deck templates I could feed them. Monocolor infinite turn deck that runs off two cards and five mana? Check. Unlimited planeswalker cloning? Check. Thousands of mana? Check. I have Big Deck Energy up the wazoo
There's another way to do this that sorts out the mana issue, but keeps it as one deck. You basically "mana weave" (distribute mana evenly throughout your deck), then give it a good shuffle. The pros are that you'll get a much more enjoyable game with i nice amount of rng that doesn't feel too scummy or cheaty, the cons are elitists still moan about it :')
I know straight up mana weaving is an illegal move in competitive, but I'm pretty sure they all do it to some degree, still with a lot of shuffling though. As without shuffling you're basically just stacking your deck.
I know this is a dead channel but I’ve always loved it, especially the MTG ones, it would be awesome if you guys kept up with it. Some of my favourite yogs is Tom smashing all of you with mono black 😂😂😂.... Pls bring back
@@just.Athena From the rulebook: 205.4e Any instant or sorcery spell with the supertype “legendary” is subject to a casting restriction. A player can’t cast a legendary instant or sorcery spell unless that player controls a legendary creature or a legendary planeswalker.
the pridemate is super good, each life you gain makes him bigger (I mean 1 life = +1/+1 counter, not what you guys are doing...you made him nerfed) but I love the game, I love the video.
You should try doing terreforming mars! Such a fun game. If you do something similar like in MTG, where you show the card on screen when it is played ^^ Maybe a zoomed in camera on player boards for the cubes.
Yeah! I've been looking forward to a new MTG video! Here's hoping they do another, maybe picking up a couple boosters of M20 and making a deck out of them. By the way, I really like this separating lands and other cards rule. Lots of interesting strategies there. =)
I’ve been waiting so long for games night channel to come back! Been wondering why it stopped, is it because editors are focusing on the other channels or something? I’d edit these types of videos for free just because I love seeing this channel and all the games XD
Its an alright homebrew, maybe a bit too strong, given you will always know your curve, and it makes land search kinda worthless Maybe if you want to have a similar effect, allow players a free land search each? or something like, 'once per game you may shuffle up to 3 cards from your hand into your deck, search your deck for that many land cards and add them to your hand'
Games Night! Last time I watched a game night video I didn't really know much about MTG and wouldn't cringe at any misplays or these strange alternative rules xD
Hilarious that you're playing WAR a week before M20 comes out :p I'd love if you guys would play sealed. It's rather easy to build a sealed deck from 6 packs opposed to building a standard deck from 1000-2000 block cards. Crack 6 packs. Lay out your cards by colour. That will already show you which colours you want to play. Then pick 23 cards and add 17 lands to get a 40 card deck. Fewer lands if you play aggressive with low mana cards and more lands if you picked big cards.
Where are the battleboys There not playing withe little toys Alex should be a battleboy Ben should be a battleboy Lewis should be a battleboy And Tom should be there
I’m glad Games Night has posted new videos. I hope this series is revived, especially Warhammer Kill Team and Underworlds, and other quick games.
Yeah, I was sad because I thought they just abandoned this channel. I don't really watch the yogscast much these days, but I love their Games Night videos.
Kill Team would be perfect!!
yeah Kill Team was one of the best things
The MTG videos on games night are always a blast, thank you!
Finally, some more games night!
Hopefully they bring back Yogsquest
@@Rayquazaknight we can all pray
This is NOT a sponsored video!
Just to let you know.
"Im too poor to even afford a megaphone"
Can we get an hour long commander deck game with like 4 people
They did one in the past.
Another!!! *smacks table with fists*
Just an hour???
It will probably be longer if it remains uncut
As long as Sjin sleeves his cards.
"What can Catman do?"
I see what you did there, Ben
I do love Ben's jokes :^)
The puns
This is what I wanted you cheeky boiks, you guys should get some of the others together and do some EDH!
D R your wanting to much they just separated there land commander is light years away
@@benl9917 a mans gotta have hope right?
EDH sounds like some kind of new designer drug
The idea still sounds great to me though
I shall ignore your Land Heresey if you release more content on this channel again.
Also. Please sleeve your cards...
Hey Lew lew. It literally say in the old magic the gathering rule book, that you are free to change the rules to fit your casual play for fun :P
FINALLY some more games night! Really been missing the Battle Boys ᵃⁿᵈ ᵀᵒᵐ for some time now! Hope you guys put out more on here soon!
I love learning other peoples home brew rules on how to play magic. Thats why I think its such a great game, you dont have to follow the meta to have fun.
I think every game has the potential to be fun if you break the rules. For example physical contact golf...or hunting in schools.
@@pagatryx5451 neither of those sound fun. Embezzlement in monopoly however.
The new commander set comes out in a few months. Would love to see that 😊😊
The YogCon board game segments should definitely be put onto this channel!
F to pay respects to this channel. Call of Cthulhu and edge of the empire were some of my favourite yogscast content
A Games Night video? You've opened the tap again. We now demand daily Games Night content again.
Wouldn't it be _nightly_ Games Night content? ;;;;;)))
Man I miss stuff like snake oil, or other random boardgames
Ben is secretly/not-so-secretly tired of everyones shenanigans
Lovely. Would love more Magic *cough* Core Set 2020 comes out 12th July.

wait this was a channel? It's been so long
I am presently red with rage. *presses like button*
I am so glad Games Night is back! It would be great to see another battle report. The format was awesome!
Also, you only discard down to max hand size at the end of turn LewLew.

What a cute format for casual play.. I don't hate it.. Though I would never play it >.
How often do you get manascrewed? This house rule seems like it would break any card that causes you to draw cards?
Not to mention if you have a few landfall threats out you can just play a land every single turn.
Yeah it really does. Abundance is a 2GG enchantment that has the exact effect of this rule, so it feels a lil bit insane
You don’t get land starved too often if you plan well, but when you do it’s super annoying, more often you get land flooded and have no creatures but that’s just part of the game
starved for land is even worse than flooded in my opinion. All the good cards are staring you in the face but you can't use them :(
please play more battlestar galactica, my favorite board game, liked watching it so much here that i bought it and now play with my family, super fun.
So no new Yogventures yet? Alright I’ll be back next month... Maybe a jingle jam stream? I’m dying here guys
There was a Jingle Jam stream, so that will probably be here eventually.
