- I thought it would be fun and advantages to give an update on the push button start installed a few months ago. Below is the link to the original install.
• C5 CORVETTE PUSH BUTTO...
If you find value in my videos and want to support a small channel feel free to buy me a coffee! (or not..) www.buymeacoffee.com/markalafrer
I honestly don't see how anyone could hate on this. Looks great.
Over time you've done some great interior upgrades.
I think it's awesome! And I like the red
👍 No way, could I get the nerve to attempt that to my C5. Never had a push start until my Cooper. Now I'm getting use to it. So it would be cool 🤔
Who knew I'd see a UA-cam star at Lowe's. Thought it was so funny, that you too have a Corvette and a Mini Cooper! 😂
Thanks for all the great video's 👍
Love it like it is with the red button! Is there any kind of lockout to prevent starting the car if it’s in gear?
It would be nice to make this work with the E67 automatic cranking feature.
Love the interior man looks great
I have watched your vid can you tell me how to bypass the vats system ? I did not want to do the brake off a key in the cylinder thing. Thanks Will G
Its fairly straight forward. You need to the correct resistor first and foremost. Then simply disconnect the pig tail going to the ignition. The wires that head back to the car loop them (snip and solder in a closed loop) together with the correct resistor. I hope this makes some sense
@@VetOnVettes ok I got to get the resister it was .680 Thanks !.
Hi I hav a question for you I just got the push button getting ready to have it installed now Will that help with the wheel column lock system
I know it's been a while since you posted this video, but hoping you might still respond to comments. I purchased and was trying to set this up in my C5 and ran into some problems. While looking into it, I came across your video. I've got stuff wired mostly the same way as you. My issue though is with the lock. On the key fob if I just press the lock button, I can hear the relay inside the easyguard box clicking but the doors don't lock. If I press unlock, it unlocks right away. If I press unlock and quickly follow with lock, the doors lock. Any ideas on this? You didn't mention any problems in your install video and just showed your wires coming from the locks to the two locks in the central locking system. So, I'm assuming you didn't have the issue... but really strange that I do and really confused as to why that could be.
I am adding the push button start on my c5 .I bought the same one you have wish me luck.
Let me know if you run into any snags 👍👍
@@VetOnVettes I watched your video very carefully and I started at 1pm and was done at 5pm. Car works as it should thanks to your video .next is the stereo hopefully i get for Christmas .
@@VetOnVettes did you hook up the horn and turn lights .I didn't because I didn't see you do it . video is great I wished it was a little slower at times to see everything.
I have a similar unit. Mine is by Banvie. When I walk away from the car it automatically locks but then a few seconds later the alarm goes off. Do you have any idea what might be wrong? By the way mine is a 1998 automatic with Passive Keyless Entry switch on the factory key fob
Can you upgrade you cluster..?
So if you don't want the passive lock/unlock can you just bi-pass installing the antennas for that as well then? We are looking at getting one of these and I kind of want to do this mod. It is not something we will be driving all the time, so I would want that disabled on mine.
If you push it to acc on and change your mind, will it time out or do you have to start it? Just curious. Great channel. Sub
I need to check. But I'm 95% sure it times out.
ARE YOU IN NEW JERSEY?
Where did you get that button from?
Amazon
Is there a way to also get remote start?
it has it.
Not a mod for me but it looks great.
Thanks man 👍🤙
I dont like the red. Definitely go with the brushed aluminum
