Mom Rev : Bob Dylan wrote this powerful, spiritual, gospel-influenced song in 1967. The Band released it in 1968 on their first album (phenomenal ensemble musicians in their own right, and Dylan’s band of choice to play with on tour). Perfect song for Aaron Neville, in many ways.

Helluva actor Charles S. Dutton! His portrayal of a father desperate to find his son after 6 long years, even after his wife, the boys own mother had given up, won Mr. Dutton an Emmy award. Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in the 2002/2003.
I was watching the Without a Trace episode with Charles Dutton and could not place the singer right away. After I looked it up I should be ashamed. I was a radio announcer for 27 years and could not place Mr. A Neville's voice. Well, there went all my street cred.

I can really relate to the words of this song : I will be released.I have to thank God for putting The Breeze radio KSAP-LP 96.9 FM located in Port Arthur, Texas in my path while I was in prison. DJ Tejas used to play his songs a whole lot. His songs ministered to me. Now I'm free after 25 years and 3 months of incarceration for an 80 year sentence for murder. I was 17 when I went in from 1990 to 2016. Today I'm a different man. Thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Aaron Neville has been around since I was a teen and I am 60 now, he has continued to grow as a vocalist and his soulful voice is one of a kind. He can turn anyone's song into his and that is a rare talent. God bless him as he spreads the gospel thru his music.
This man can help you find our Lord. Just listen to his music and tell me where it comes from. Can't get enough of this man's talent. No other singer has his range or his style.

Honestly he's an amazing Singer and everybody loves his voice. His song was introduced to me by my colleague in the office and since then I have not stopped following his songs because he's voice is throughly amazing
Just watch an old episode of Without a trace, this cut was playing at the very end when the father was reunited with his son who had been kidnapped. Don't remember having heard this before. But it is so touching, Aaron's voice is so warm and wonderful, such a gift to have a voice of this magnitude. Father, I continue to thank you for the music makers, truly an asset to this life.

2 days before my father passed away, he asked me "how many more days do i have to get thru?" i thought days?, years, dad, i knew he missed my mom who had also recently passed - so hard to lose them, yet somehow this helps to release them and know they wait for us and watch over from heaven

What a voice! What artistry.... I had never ever heard of Aaron Neville.. and now I will never forget this voice. All thanks to looking around UA-cam for decent versions of "I Shall Be Released". This, Perhaps The Version of All Versions? Beautiful, and true, and deep, and honest ... I feel that precisely when he goes highest, kind of a falsetto, near the end, it comes out of having gone down to the bare bone marrow of the song. How can I get this on a proper CD? I would, I really would.
