    Hi Roberto! Do I have to use a Docking Station always for Cloning HDs, or can I use as an External HD to use/open/save my new and old files in my PC/Notebook?

    • @domxem5551
      @domxem5551 3 роки тому

      You don’t need a docking station, but this is the easiest method, by far. Alternative is using software and a computer, which provides customization but it is also a bit more challenging.

    From looks of it FD2005 Supports up to 20TB and FD2002 supports up to 8-10TB. FD2005 is Aluminum and FD2002 is ABS.

    Hey Roberto, thank you for your time and knowledge, this has been very educational, my question is what is the difference btw the models INATECK DOCK FD2005 vs the FD2002, apart from the apparent of the body. Which would you recommend? Regards Shane.

      I think that there is no diference, only the looks. everything else seems the same. UASP, USB 3.0 and Clone function 😊

    hi Roberto
    I am think of buying the Seagate IronWolf 3TB (ST3000VN007) OR the Seagate Barracuda 4TB (ST4000DM005) for my Esata external storage (DAS)which connect to my iMac thunderbolt adapter.
    The IronWolf 3TB and Barracuda 4TB at this moment are both 110 euro.
    I know IronWolf is a NAS drive, Barracuda is for desktop or DAS. Reliability is important to me, but one never says "No" to speed and capacity. IronWolf 3TB speed should be about 160-170MB/s +, Barracuda 4tb should be about 190MB/s + .
    Which would you recommend ?

    • @RobertoJorgeTech
      @RobertoJorgeTech  7 років тому

      Hi Yifu, both will be a good choice and although i usually dont advice NAS grade HDD´s for DAS work (although they are more reliable) because of speed, have you seen my tests on the new Toshiba N300 NAS grade Drives?? ua-cam.com/video/wyjXoIpAAV0/v-deo.html Take a look and check the prices. I was really impressed with the results.
      I dont know where you are purchasing your drives but on amazon the N300 are cheaper than the Iron Wolf or the WD Red.
      Hope it helps
      RJ

      thank you for the reply. so fast :))).
      yes Have seen that video , nice video :)
      pricing is very good . is the N300 nosy compere to WD Red. Toshiba and HGST were loud in my past experiences.

      Im updating my comments :) Just finished jogging and before the shower a few comments hehe!!! You happened to be the 1st comment on the line :)
      I have 2 Toshibas N300 working right next to me and a few WD Red and what i can tell you is that in terms of noise they are the same more or less. When accessed we hear them but nothing that bothers to much. The Seagate HDDS usually are more silent. The one that anoys me here is 2x WD Blue that i have in Raid 0 but soon i will swap them :)

    very informative review, would you know if the cloning ability would work on say a play station 4 or xbox one hard drive instead of having to reinstall all the software which can be a pain, if not no problem just thought i would ask, thank you

      I'm wondering the same thing lol instead of having some small 1TB HDD in my X1X I'm trying to see if I can use this as a "plug and play" option for installing a new 5TB drive

    Hi Paulo, I hope this question hasn't been already asked.
    Do you know if this device can clone one drive to another with different brands/sizes between A and B slots (for upgrading to bigger NAS HDDs for example)? I mean, what happens if you clone a 3TB HDD to a 4TB HDD, does the final capacity of the target 4TB HDD remains full or is it shrunk?
    Thanks for your answer.

    • @RobertoJorgeTech
      @RobertoJorgeTech  7 років тому +1

      Hey Yann, its Roberto hehe!! And yes it can as long as the destination drive is same or larger than the source :)
      I havent done that test but with a clone i would say that you end up with a 1TB of unusable space. If i have the time i will test that out

    Do you think this is good for extended time use such as playing a video that is an hour or more in length? Overheat at all?

    Can I use this to scrub a drive by placing the drive to be scrubbed in Target bay and a blank drive in the Master bay. that way the blank will be copied onto the drive with data. If I can do it is this a secure way to do it such that people cannot reverse the scrubbing operation. The reason i ask is the software i use to do a two pass scrub takes ages and this docking station is much faster.

    hi there my seagate central nas drive failed if i take out hard drive out myself would it read the files without any software needed on MacBook pro. would i still need like data recovery software or will be good on its own.

    • @RobertoJorgeTech
      @RobertoJorgeTech  7 років тому

      If its a single disk it should read on any computer. If it has more than 1 drive and has Raid than you need the exact same model and even so its not 100% guaranteed that you can get your data back.
