- Manchester City have been at the Etihad Stadium since 2003 but before, they were based at Maine Road since 1923. We've already done a Man City stadium tour at the Etihad so I thought it would be interesting to look around Maine Road in 2024 and visualise the setting of a once iconic English football ground. Ooo Arrr this local Manchester United fan comes here in peace 😉 On Football Paradise we celebrate the history of every club, learning along the way. So check out similar videos on Highbury, the former home of Arsenal. The Boleyn Ground (Upton Park), Griffin Park and loads more! 🏟️ SUBSCRIBE for Stadium Tours - Match Day Vlogs - & Football Nostalgia 🤩👍🏽 -Ry

Feeling massive nostalgia watching this mate. I was last there about 25 years ago under the floodlights ( with my then boss and Man City fan )…. Loving ya channel pal 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it mate 😊👍🏾🍻
Oasis played there in 96.
I was a kid during the 90s and I am Man United fan but City players I remember were Paul Dickov and Nicky Summerbee. My all time favourite United player is King Eric.
I’m a Manchester United fan
I'm sorry
Maine road was the side the main stand was on , kippax opposite. The road takes it name from the state of Maine USA and was named in honour of the American temperance movement who were prominent in Manchester in the late 19th century.
I think city had 80 odd thousand at Maine road one game - was an English record for a league match until spurs broke it at Wembley.
P.s. you’re actually sound for a united fan 😅
Memories of United against Oldham fA cup sorry to say was there when they beat us 5-1 and 3-3l draw late 80tis
Hello me love Manchester city and Manchester United me me big football fan
Best night of my football supporting life was at Maine Road . 7/12/1999 I was 16 at the time . MAN CITY 1-2 STOCKPORT COUNTY Tony Dinning bags the winner what a glorious night 😊
haha class! Look forward to seeing Stockport in the league above next season...

When nobody knew who Manchester city was apart from English football fans.
Been here loads of times with Barnsley and even my club Barnsley could beat them apart from the 5-1 loss which Keegan was manager and pierce was left back
That was my first ever Man City game, we won championship title that day too if I’m correct.
Did you know Manchester United record attendance was that main road in an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal?
did not know! Thanks
Them kids look ready to pull a blade out on you 😂
Nooo we cool 😅 Had to slip them a tenner after they put me in a headlock though...
You should flash up old maps and photos ofvthe old stadium whilst your talking
Good shout 👍🏾
The nazis bombed old Trafford because the ground was located next to the largest manufacturing area in Europe at the time , which during wartime produced much of British munitions. Also close by was Salford docks ( now where bbc/ itv studios are ) a stragetic point for uk shipping to the port of Liverpool .
I know Mohamed from school
Can you go to where the old spurs ground was pls…
I've been haha same site as the new one
😢COYS🔵⚪️

Other than the old center circle, the grass everywhere else doesn’t look to have held up well. Looks sh*thole.
