I'm moving to Boise from Asia in the coming May and looking for apartment to rent. Perhaps you can help with a video on rentals too. That would be helpful. In any cases your videos are helpful. Thanks! +1 subscruber. 😂
Watching from MA! Boise just popped onto my radar recently actually, I spent 3 years in Denver before moving back to New England in 2022. Looking to start a new adventure again and get away from the miserable winters here.
Watching from NYC. Don't like the politics here but stuck for now but will retire in a few years. Hope Boise doesn't get too blue. Thanks for the great vids.
Compared to NYC we are blood red. But Boise is the bluest city in the region. What I like about this area is that people mostly keep to themselves in terms of politics. Not always of course, but it really doesn’t seem to come up much in daily life. Could just be me though. If you want a smaller town vibe and much more conservative, check out Kuna Idaho. I was raised there. It’s only about 25 minutes drive from Boise. It’s also closer to unincorporated land, where you can go shooting whenever you want (with your unlicensed totally freedom loving gun culture, if that’s your thing).
I'm watching from Bend, OR! Our kids and grandkids are in Meridien and my husband and I are retiring soon and thinking of moving there. My one concern is that is does get so HOT in the summer, more so than Bend, But I LOVE your area, always have!
Yes it can get a bit warmer here in the summer times. Bend, Oregon: • June: High of 75°F • July: High of 82°F • August: High of 81°F Boise, Idaho: • June: High of 83°F • July: High of 92°F • August: High of 91°F Other than temperature, is there anything else that has you concerned?
Thanks for doing this! Poor Spencer is trying to find me houses in different areas and I was hesitant with Boise not having been downtown yet but based on your tour I love it!
@@livinginidaho I've never been a city person and cities (in my experience) typically don't feel safe, trashy, crowded, etc. I did live outside Portland in 2012 (before it went south) and LOVED that city, the culture, the amazing food, Forest Park, etc. It was the first city I ever liked. But in my mind from past experience cities are dirty and the people that live in or around them are not the friendliest and very different from the outdoorsy mountain loving folks like myself. Boise definitely has a different feel and I hope it's able to hold onto that. I'm looking for a long term home base so I get nervous about what could become of it in the future as well especially with it starting to lean a little liberal. BTW..I was initially looking at Eagle & Star but because those are predominately HOA communities I wouldn't be able to keep my van at my house which is a deal breaker...which is why my search has moved towards Boise. 😊
@@deniseihler7963 - There are plenty of places in the Boise surroundings that could be a good fit for you. Downtown is just a tiny part of it. But if you enjoyed Portland before it went insane, then living near downtown will be a wonderful experience for you. Portland used to be really nice, and Boise still is.
Watching from Portland, OR. Do you have any recommendation on where people can go from Boise for quick vacation within an hour or two of driving distance ? We will miss the Oregon coast if we move there.
Portland is where we moved from and we do miss a good day on the Oregon coast… though we have been back a few times. A place people go from boise is McCall Idaho. McCall, Idaho, is a picturesque resort town nestled by the Payette Lake, surrounded by the mountains of the Payette National Forest. Its natural beauty, outdoor recreational activities like skiing, hiking, and boating, along with a charming downtown area, make it an ideal vacation spot.
I have a question. Sometimes I switch the mode on google maps to air quality. Boise is almost always dark red which means very poor air quality. How come?
What is the economic opportunity like? Getting ready to graduate college in California (born and raised) and the state has become a hellscape. I want out but the pay here is so much better than the rest of the country.
I'm watching from Coeur d'Alene. I'm watching because I'd like to visit Boise for a weekend. Looks like a nice city and I would love to take my daughter to the zoo. 😀😀😀
@debbieannsmith8962 I heard there was some construction going on about a mo th ago and not many animals as they rotate so check it out for sure. Late SEPTEMBER is a beautiful time of year in Boise.
@spoton Agree. It was the big city in 1957 when I was born in Nampa, still is, I guess. Newly hired from out-of-town newscasters to the three local TV stations were interrupted/corrected by the cameraman on live TV if they said boi-zee.
ok, first of all I can tell you are not from here because of how you pronounce Boise. Don't make videos like this. Boise doesn't need anymore GD people.
Terrible weather, pollution, nothing to do, over-priced, terrible schools, crime ridden, drug infested, and teaming with homeless. Definitely the LAST place you'd want to bring your family or retire to.
Thank you for your relaxed style of communication and for showing boise
You're welcome

Thanks for watching and for the comment. What would you want to know about rentals?
It's horrible here. Don't move here. You'll absolutely hate it. You'd like Denver or Austin way more. Also, there's no Z in Boise.

Enjoyed the video, I am in Dubai, but originally from California- the side office at the end of the video- is that common? I liked it

Watching from Gig Harbor, WA Hoping to retire and move there at the end of the year. Looking for a conservative state.
I’m from Puyallup…. Have you come to visit Idaho yet
Yup been there several times. We sold our house in Puyallup and are now renting in Gig Harbor
We are waiting for the market to come down
Watching from North San Deigo califorina
Thanks for tuning in. What has you watching the channel?
Boise is pronounced "Boi-see" not "Boi-Zee" my friend. Ask around for yourself please.
Thanks for watching

Please profile less chain restaurants and more local restaurants
Boise good boise better
Boy sea no zzz’s.
I thought locals said 'boy see' not 'boy zee'
You’re correct.
It's Bwah-zay

Too expensive for locals
Want about the allargies
What kind of allergies you do deal with?
Allergies are rough, but fire season is bad every year. Right now the sun is obscured by smoke
Eventually it will have slumbs or cheap area its growing so fast
