Another super practical lesson Jens. I do not have the theory so deeply internalized I can run through it on the fly but I have a good ear and play with intervals and "colors" constantly. Quite often I am privileged to watch you reverse engineer things I am playing and it is extremely helpful going forward. Thank You again (and again and...). 😎
Thanks Donald! I think the ability to easily recognize what a note is against a chord is something that you develop once you use it. It's really cool to see on the comments how you are exploring all the videos!
Jens Larsen thank you for organizing all this material and putting it together in such approachable pieces. I have not seen a "dud" yet and there are always multiple layers of application and surprises... I look forward to what the next turn will yield. 😎
That's not on my channel though :) I have two videos on Chris Zoupas channel as well, one with the yamaha and one with the strat, and there are other videos on this channel with Strat, Gibson and the Sheraton
Thank you, Jens. This lesson was very helpful. Putting quartal harmony into practice has been challenging, but I feel that these licks have set me on the right path. Example 4, Line 2 (@3:07): amazing!
I agree, also i learned these chord structures - major 4ths and melodic minor 4ths- using the top 4 strings the advantage being that i can add that top voice without much though but the arpeggios are faster using just the inner 3 strings.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to put together these lessons. I've been on your site, and you have tons of them. Is there any way to organize your lessons from basic to advanced, for those such as myself that are new to jazz guitar? Keep 'em coming.
You're very welcome Dale! I don't really have an order for the lessons because everybody is different and has a different order in learning things. You can always ask! For example: cna you already play and solo on a few standards? Do you know arpeggios? Let me know then I can maybe give you a suggestion or two! If you want to help me then you can share one of my videos and help me spread the word with your recommendation 😊

Sorry! I wasn't meaning to sound like I was correcting you. Just listing a bunch of videos :D
Yeah me too

Hi Jens, you're a great musician and also a great teacher, would you come to Argentina some time with træben? Keep making lessons, take care!
Thanks Rodrigo! We would love to come, but it's hard to get that organized :)

super moderno
Gracias!
Very nice and useful, Jens. Am I wrong or do these lines remind me of Bill Frisell?
Thanks Joachim! I don't know, it doesn't really remind me of Frisell, but I might not have the same records as you?
