UPDATE: It is with great sadness that I have been informed by the grandson of Lynn that she passed away today, February 6th, 2020. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. I know she was always incredibly grateful for and amazed by the love you all showed her after seeing this video. Rest in Peace to the wonderful Mrs. Sandman. 💕
Tenchy Agosto Janet Ertel Bleyer died in 1988. Jinny Osborn (later known as Jinny Janis) died in 2003. On April 5, 2009, Nancy Overton died after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Dorothy “Dottie” (Hummitzsch) Schwartz died on April 4, 2016
You can see her mind was still sharp and she still had energy and lots of spirit in this video. She was around 90 in here, wasn't she? What a precious interview. Their music touched many, it's so nostalgic seeing them still young in their videos. And hearing the end, where she mentions with such a happy and peacefull look in the eye that she is happy how her life went, and that she was blessed - so beautiful. May we all be that lucky to say such words in the last years of our lives.
I like how she's honest and says her favorite song is Mr Sandman. A lot of people would pick some obscure song just to make them seem more artistic. She picked her Sandman well.. because it's simply the best and most fun!!
I would still pick their rendition of Bert Kaempfert's "Wooden Heart", not because it sounded more artistic, but just because I like the song more in general, instrumental version and with their lyrics. It's the same reason why I like many of the Andrew Sisters' renditions of songs, because they (or someone for them) wrote lyrics to an originally instrumental song.
I have seen you so many places related to the Chordettes, so I'll ask you because I think you'll will know. Are there any of the Chordettes still with us?
She was mentally sharp all the way to the end.. She specifically always stood out to me in the old performances, she really was the star of the group. She just always looked so happy doing it and she was VERY beautiful. RIP 🙏🏼
For starters, you realize there's a thing called inflation? And second the reason even counting inflation the prices may be higher, is because no one uses records, and why would the majority? They can just download it on their digital device.
They're typically $20 new due to inflation and the cost to produce smaller quantities, but at a secondhand shop they're typically just a couple to a handful of dollars.
Eternal kingdom in heaven to all the Chordettes girls... Thanks to all of them for the gift of wonderful memories, straight from childhood... Many years have passed, but I just miraculously kept a music record that passed to me from my late grandmother, as I remember now-Best from Chordettes. Thanks to you, for the tribute of respect and memory, one of the participants!
Aww, what a wonderful interview. I was actually so surprised she lived out her remaining days in my home city. She resided in the home next to the nursing home my mom was in before her own passing. Forever love the singing of the Chordettes. ✨✨💖✨✨
Omg all of their fans need to see this. Great interview! Its so weird to see how much things change and how much faster time is going. Its so omg I can't describe.
I remember when me and my old class back in elementary school sang Lollipop (that's been about 10 years ago) and today I still like to l listen to this and also to Mr. Sandman. That's been about 50 years after those songs were released. I LOVE IT
"Mr. Sandman" became a favorite of mine when I was just 6 years old. I had just learned to tie my shoe laces. It's a serious sentimental favorite ever since.

This interview is great. I wouldn't know how to end an interview with Lyn Evans. I want it to keep going and going. I was born in the 80s but still loving the 40s and 50s.
You can see in her eyes and her smile that she is a happy, joyful person, just like she was back in the day. Bless her. I was expecting a mention of "Lollipop" which was surely their 2nd biggest hit. Lovely video. RIP dear Lynn.
There’s just something unexplainable in your heart when you see an old person like her, used to be one of the most famous in music Industry. Maybe that’s why we created music in the first place. It left some special remarks on us

Its funny, I've heard Mr. Sandman all my life going back to the eighties. But for the first time last week it came on and I really listened to it. Their harmony was amazing, especially toward the end when they belted in a really high octave. Great interview!
I have sentimental tears here, while watching this interview. This video brings me some beautiful information and the honour of seeing a Chordette alive. Thank you so much
Oh my goodness Young man. You had the privilege of interviewing one of the most extraordinary vocalists of my era. Young man you are very privileged thank you for the interview
Glad to see that you sat down to interview one of the most legendary singers of all time! I watched the performance that she gave with the other ladies of The chordettes when they were inducted, and it was quite an awesome sight to see then proving anybody who might have doubted that they could still pull it off at the age that they were.
Ah yes, this is right up my avenue, thank you Joe. Uncle Buck and The Cordettes song has been one of my favourite cinema moments for decades. Lynn Evans is better off not understanding the lyrics of todays tripe (music?). I hope lots of fans of the period and people who lived through it find this interview, it will warm their hearts.for sure :) .

Nicely done interview, Joe. For anyone looking for a role model of a life well lived Lynn Evans is an excellent example. While I've enjoyed her lovely voice all my life, I think that teaching special education for 25 years might be considered an even greater achievement than her wonderful success as a musical performer.
