It's worth pointing out that NOS was once two organisations ('Nederlandse Radio Unie' or NRU for radio, 'Nederlandse Televisiedienst' or NTS for television) before the newly merged broadcaster in 1969, today NOS are one of two tasked based broadcasters (along with NTR) keeping the NPO network running, mainly currently in charge of news and sports output.
