Best Selling TV Brands 2003 - 2024
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 кві 2024
- These are the best selling TV brands from 2003 to 2024, based on yearly market share. The latest numbers from 2008 on are readily available from Statista and Wall Street Journal while the previous numbers come from research companies such as iSuppli. Although the numbers fluctuate back and forth for every company they do move in a general direction. Another note is that many Chinese companies offer white label versions of their own TVs to larger companies, so they may seem small and not show up in this video, but may actually sell more than larger companies.

LG OLED. 5 years now without any pixel failure. Supreme contrast
i got an lg tv and it got lines on it in 2-3 weeks...
I used to work for this company 5 years. I would never buy TV from them.
My Samsung TV was broken, but it operated for 14 years.
What a high technology.
LG is an excellent example of the importance of branding. They used to be called Goldstar and had a reputation for being cheap imported electronics, then they changed their name to LG (which stands for Life's Good, by the way) and changed the direction of their marketing. It's still the same company, but now they're a top seller.
Branding: they're a top seller because of me!
OLED, Quality, Service: yeah, yeah, fack me...
LG stands for Lucky Goldstar. "Life's Good" was just an advertising campaign.
@@jasonschubert6828 I stand corrected.
Lucky goldstar and slogan is life's good
LG is Leader Goldstar
Got a Samsung in 2010, still great HD picture, no dead pixels, plenty of HDMIs. Thought about upgrading but this tv still works perfectly. Seems it can go another 15 years. The downside, no factory bluetooth nor WiFi connectivity. But still a great tv. Before this one, I was a Sony guy.
My 2009 Samsung still going strong.
Our LG TV is now 20 years old still in good condition
This music is always so hype to listen to!
Nice to see who makes a comeback too, like sony
Right? I hope he never changes it lol 😅
Roman cano🔥
👍
Samsung ❤
For high end TVs I still go with LG OLED. For cheaper one's TCL is good with a good price to match...
LG and SAMSUNG are best.
부끄러운 시키 ㅎㅎ
I was a Sony guy back in the CRT analog days. When HD came along I bought a 55" Samsung in '03 (which I still have) and that's been my go to since then.
I used to subscribe to Consumer Reports Magazine back in the 90s. Samsung sent a letter to the editor about their concerns for being described by the publication as a budget brand 😅
Love a Philips... can't get enough of that sweet Ambilight goodness... lights off, curtains closed and stick a film on.
Same here, Ambilight and Android TV (now Google TV) makes it stand out from the pack, and because Philips is now using LG OLED panels, I don't think you can go wrong by choosing a Philips OLED TV.
Maybe it doesn't have the best overall picture quality/image processor, or the best TV features/specs, but the fact that it has Ambilight and that I can pretty much install any Android app I want makes it the obvious choice for me.
We've had several Philips TVs with Ambilight in the house since 2008, and that 1st Ambilight TV is still in the house: a 37", Full-HD 1080p, dual-sided Ambilight Philips TV, lol!
@@you2be839it was sold to aoc😂
Samsung TV 2010 thank you very much. The TV is still working!!!! ❤
I own a 1080p Sony Bravia since 2012, and even if the screen light is not as good as it used to be, I never had any problem with this device
Likely the best TV ever made for its time
BRAVIA the King of TVs
Same Thing, my is from 2010
I still have a sony bravia 24' its a 1080 hd tv but STILL works great
I now use this tv as a monitor por my pc (i play oldschool retro games on it
Good tv with lots of ports in the back...
For my everyday use i have a 43' sony bravia android tv and so far no problems
By the way the sony bravia 43' android tv its from 2019
But since were i live the voltage its very variable ( i use a KOBLENZ ER 2800 voltage regulator
So my pc, home audio systen, smart tv, hd tv, modem are protected
From voltage variations & power surges
I still have my 2012 Panasonic tv, still going strong and will not change anytime soon. Nowadays theres 8K TV's, but im still going strong with my 1080p TV.
Yep still have a Panasonic plasma
mee too from 2011 with my sony bravia
Don't rob your eyes of the eye candy. You can get a way better TV for under 500.
I have a Sony ZD9 as my main display, but still use my Panasonic plasma in the bedroom. Still great, and better off axis colour than _any_ TV made today!
Me too, still have my panasonic kuro plasma tv and still love it.
LG has to be the best you can't convince me otherwise
Very interesting info graph
Samsung the best! ❤
Sony had been the dominant brand in electronics in the 1980s & 90s… Sad to see today it’s been relegated to a struggling brand…
Struggling maybe a little in TV market due to mainly catering to premium high end market but playstation and games is still making them ton's of money.
Wonderful products, but so expensive!
Samgsung , Lg and Philips . All in my house . This do many years ! A never buy another brand !.
LG is the way to go
Toshiba TV is great.
Sony 🔥🔥🔥
S95C 65“. Love this TV. Best buy in the last years ❤
Watching this on my Sony X85L with a easily sideloaded (just install the APK, done) custom UA-cam client, that's miles ahead in general usability/customizability vs. the standard app with very limited settings.
Besides having ad/sponsorblock as its best feature, of course - good luck with that on Samsung's Tizen or LG's WebOS, because I only found rather convoluted solutions, if any at all.
(never even considered those Chinese brands, so I don't know about them - but they might use a basic AndroidTV OS, so if you're lucky you can sideload things without issues - I just know that some Panasonics couldn't even access any proper app store at all, recently, when I was looking around for new TVs, to replace my 10+ year old Samsung D6500)
Bought a Philips in 2008 which died just three years later. Found out later that at the time i bought it Philips TVs weren´t built by Philips but by TCL that had bought the rights from Philips. Now i own my second Samsung and have never regretted it.
I used TCL's for low-end PC monitors for a while in the 2010's. Pretty good for that.
Similar story here. My mom had Philips ever since her very first TV in the late 60s. In 2012 we needed a new one and since it took me like 5 seconds to crash the Philips in the store (which was also insanely slow) we switched to Samsung, which is used ever since.
China's technology still has a long way to go. They are busy stealing products from developed countries. Since the country's population is large, sales will naturally be high. However, when viewed globally, it is at the level of a poorly developed country.
still use my good old 42 inch Emerson Plasma TV and it works great
I have a Samsung my guess 20 years, one of the first HD. Works great. Not smart so it was relegated to office above my desk. 🤔add a fire stick? Yes now a smart tv. Another 100 $ smallish Samsung never got used. I now have it on my desk and with a hdmi I use it as a computer monitor with my laptop. No need for a desk top computer.
Last year I bought a Hisense U6H TV, it offered the best features for its price. I also have a Panasonic LED TV from 2012, and also a Panasonic CRT TV since 2004 I beleive
Have that crt?.
I have a TV from Thomson. 10 years old still running great 😊
My childhood
Never heard of Thompson...
Still using a Panasonic plasma 1080p TV here..When it dies I'll explore the options.
Their plasma tvs were the best tvs on the market, and they are still better than OLED today. Led tv just can't compare.
Our 42 is still working. It will be 18 this fall!
@@ericl.8893Mee too, bought the last plasma version 2015.
Yes finally back❤❤❤
Used to love Sony TV's for decades, when I got my first 4K Sony TV 65" in 2014, it worked without picture issues for less than 2 years, it started suffered from blueish colors, I paid $2500 for it, feel robbed, I'm glad sony went to the drain compare to Samsung and other brands.. My favorite brands today for TV's are Samsung and LG.
first flat tv i had was a philips it broke in a year. then i got a samsung for 10-years no problems. then my first 4k tv from Lg it broke after almost 2 years still under waranty so i got a samsung again.
A familiar brand that I've heard a lot about = SONY, Samsung, LG, TOSHIBA, Panasonic, PHILIPS, SHARP
My Favorite Brand TV Is Hisense TV and Samsung TV So Hisense Is Global No.2 in selling TVs And Samsung Is Global No.1 in selling TVs
삼성, 엘지 🎉
I actually game on my 2011 Samsung HdTv and it works great for that. I now only own Samsungs
I still use my Philips and Magnavox CRTs from 04 and a Sony Trinitron from 00.
It is hard to believe that former kings of the industry like Sony are small players ( not to mention Zenith, RCA, GE, and Quasar). I don't know what brand to buy today if I have to buy one. My parents have a Vizio from 2012(I think) and it has been trouble free but I hear many people criticizing them. All I care about is reliability.
Crazy that it took 17 yrs for an American TV company to be in the top 10 while China, Japan and South Korea fighting to be the best like no one ever was, bought my 1st 4K TV in 2017 it was an LG 7 yrs later still works with no problems unlike their appliances tho…
I'm watching this war on my 4K Sony Bravia X900C. Every pixel still produce amazing picture at every frame for me. I still love Sony.
Tengo un Panasonic del 2012, un LG del 2021 y un Samsung del 2016, sin duda los Panasonic tienen buena tecnología y al dia de hoy tiene buena calida de imagen
In Korea, when it comes to home appliances and TVs, LG and Samsung are considered equal or slightly above LG.
LG falls behind Samsung overseas in terms of brand power and marketing.
Crazy how japanese companies fall so fast
Not fallen just the Korean brands are cheaper. In reality would you rather have a Sony or Lucky Gold star? Easy Sony. It is like for cars. Kia is cheaper than Toyota but would you rather have a Kia or a Toyota? Same idea.
@@bikingD Still doesnt change anything japanese comapines fallen and the only one who is still hardly standing is sony all other are not even has %3 market share.
@@Turkcu408 yah and Sony is all that matters.
@@bikingD lmao why you don't compare their smartphone xD , that explain why Samsung is bigger than any Japanese company
@@quoctrungnguyen4553 Please Samsung phones are garbage. Toilet paper. Trash.
I still find it hard to believe Pannys aren’t sold in the US. I still have my two Plasmas hdtv and they work great.
Samsung be like * do what you want, i have already won*
Sony.. their upscaling and backlight is so good on my xh900
Used to have a Sharp and Samsung LCD TV....finally entered modern times and got myself some budget 4K HDR offbrand tvs. no regrets.
Nice. Please do game console wars
In terms of picture quality and reliability, Sony is hard to beat.
It lost on pricing. I will anyday pay that extra and get Sony.
My previous Sony 32" full HD is 10 years old and is working perfectly - i watch TV a lot!
Sony and Phillips are currently in my apartment.
I own a Sony. Don't watch it though. Since 2010. But for me Sony is TV.
My tv is also lg tv but it was works over 16 years
Interesting, but I'd like to see absolute numbers, better in units than money. I live in a no-TV environment, where broadcasting ceased many years ago so I can't see the whole picture (pun).
For years I have been buying LCD TVs from the pioneer of this industry, the Japanese brand Sharp. For more than 20 years, I still can't let this brand down, especially the faithful colour rendering and top quality. My first flagship model LC37XD1E still works for 17 years, the second model Sharp with Android tv, works for 4 years. Well and now I purchased another, this time again a flagship model with Google tv system and again great satisfaction in the ratio.. price/performance/quality.
I hope that Sharp will again come to the forefront in the tv segment, I think it rightly deserves it, as its history and experience with this technology is also unique.
Anyway, THANKS a lot for this video, I will look forward to the next one again.. 🙂 👍
I don't think Japanese brands will ever gain their 90s and 00s popularity anytime soon, especially with cheap competition from China
@@peterkragger4824I wish it would, unfortunately I agree with you that it probably won't happen. Chinese brands are destroying the fair market and traditional brands with their aggressive pricing policies, even with government support. China is doing everything it can to dominate every sector, which is its economic goal.
Moreover, it is sad that a great many people look only at price and do not realise why this is so.
For me anyway.. Sharp forever 😁
@@danielzalsky81 China is fading fast. Their costs are now very high. Ten years from now, who knows, you might see brands from a completely new country.
@@stevens1041clearly you know nothing about China other than economic news peddled by your news channels.
Do you know that SHARP is owned by HISENSE? Sadly the brands that we grew up aee gone...
I still remember brands like QUASAR, RCA, GE,
Panasonic is a really underrated brand. Maybe it's not as innovative and high end as Sony but I have a feeling it's better quality than Samsung and LG TVs. We have a 2015 model in our house and it works like new
They have highens modells with lgs panels like all the other brands too. They all are very similiar!
Panasonic are some of the best TVs out there.
@@serrael-182 The panels may be produced by LG, at least the OLED ones, but for the the larger models they buy the parts from the OLED panel seperately and put them together with their own special sauce. If you ever experienced the MZW2004, you know it's not the same. I know someone who regretted replacing his Panasonic Plasma with a cheap LG OLED, because there is no more headphone jack which he needs at night so he won't entertain the whole building. He wanted to sell me his TV twice already to buy a Panasonic OLED.
Sadly Panasonic is going to fade out the developement of MyHomescreen, which is the OS that makes even 15 year old TVs work like brand new even though UA-cam and TuneIn are no longer operational on them. In a few month the new A-Series, the naming will be pretty similar to Samsung, will launch with FireTV OS replacing MyHomescreen, because of Apps and to get back into the US market. tbh I don't think it'll work, Amazon, Hisense and TCL (excluding the 115") are much cheaper.
Sony and Panasonic use OLED panels made from Samsung and LG
Because Japan can't make OLED TV panels
Sony Bravia is a Samsung OLED TV panel
Panasonic used LGD TV panel
There the best quality, just they pull out of US market, only in europe
Portuguese Brazil
Interessante como a Sony não se reinventou, era líder em TV aliás tecnologia japonesa é de alto nível. E as Sul Coreanas tomaram o mercado, porém as Chinesas cresceram demais
My parents had Panasonic Plasma TV damn it was such a nice TV sadly it was broke after idk 10 - 8 years ?
Lg should comeback to mobile division!
Today with more TV brands DO NOT make the BIG mistake to buy TV if has not OS GoogleTV or any Android !
You will understand why on the way.
Now about my favorites. Currently TCL and SONY.
The first quantum dot TVs were Sony in 2013. Just because they branded it as Triluminos rather that QD doesn't make it not the same technology.
For me Always Sony
sony uses LG panels
@@kiwibro-vu2sy for me always LG
The Trinitron tube?
Panasonic HZ-2000. Best TV I ever bought.
Philips ambilight 😍
I've had TVs made by all except some of the Chinese manufacturers. The only TV that was really a dog was an expensive LG. Ended up giving away a $2300 65" OLED. The picture was so dim you couldn't even tell what was going on in a nighttime dark room.
Anyone else still using a Panasonic Viera from 2009?
Sad to see some of the once top brands now been taken over by the brands from China.
LG have lost ground to Samsung due to their insistance of sticking with Oled, these panels have a finite life
and i see many on my repair bench with failed panels that should have lasted far longer.
To be fair to the brands from China they are getting better, but still use underated components and connectors
often burn out on Hisense models required new connectors and pcb's which not worth the expense on sets out of warranty.
Samsung sets i see plenty of, probably due to the high numbers that are sold.
The saying of "They don't make them like they used to" realy does apply to todays TV's
RCA, Mitsubishi, Philips, Panasonic, I wish we could bring them back.
Philips and Panasonic are still there and doing well
Hisense, but only with VA panel
why polytron not listed?
Se um dia a sony quiser voltar a ser a sony dos anos 80 e 90 ela tem que parar de usar telas e peças de terceiros, melhorar o marketing e baixar os preços
All my tvs are Samsung.
Make a video on display penal making brand
Happy with my Phillips
Is this data true?
Searched randomly nd found that not only market share percentage is wrong though it varies by 1 to 3% but Hisense is not even at 2nd position 😅
The data is all over the place because many of the reports are very specific, such as only OLEDs, only certain sizes, only smart-tvs, premium panels, etc. You have to make sure the it's a general report or article on the global market, it takes a while to find them.
Your comment just explains how ignorant and out of date some people can be...TVs were dominated by Chinese vendors for years same as smartphones
Samsung TV yeah, i have Samsung Tv 2013 1080p and now Samsung 2023 TV 4K.
I remember Sony used to be the business in the 1980s. How it has fallen
I'm proud of my country South Korea.
PLOT TIST: Philips is Skyworth brand, Sony is almost LG and Turkish Vestel (including Medion and Toshiba) is in top 10
i thought HiSense is Toshiba ? from japan ?
no, Hisense owns Toshiba,Toshiba belongs to Hisense, from China
samsung will always be memorable to be the first company to sucessfully implement good technology to islamic countries
Still LG is long lasting with remote mouse thingy is the best. 8 years
my favorite was and is Panasonic !
@pingopongo393 well yes, it is one of an exception
samsung
Life is Good
Chinese brand TV is only for domestic Market. Not for developed country market.
I've Had A Sanyo For 5 Years
Sony TV is very bad now. Somehow their TV screen broke just a few months after the warranty expired. I bought 2 and both had the same problem so I switched to TCL TV.
After switching to LG OLED in 2022 I haven't looked back. LG have always had quality panels. They suck at price point but their quality is always good. I'm on team LG. Samsung tv's always break after a few years. Sony's are always heavy and slow software. The other brands only nab market share due to cheap parts from cheap labor. Most people are satisfied with garbage tv's that they replace every 2 or 3 years.
i like how there were always at least 3-4 brand that i absolutely don't know anything about!
like who tf is konka or aoc??
aoc is massive in making fast motion lcd panels
Lg tcl vizio sharp samsung
DAEWOO, SMC ,
The Sony ponies
Sumsung
I still have my old Toshiba LCD bought since 2011 and never fail me, even with my ps3 and ps4 😅
Such a great quality
가전 제품 40년째 써봤는데 , 삼성은 고장나서 바꿔본적이 없다 , 너무 오래써서 바꾼적은 있어도 , 삼성은 진심 대단하다
I believe in
Sony
Samsung
LG
Panasonic
Philips
....Supremacy
Hisense
Lg
Japan losing the race, was best in 80-2000 but they are static and dont evolve as much as the others
Top 3 brands are JUNK brands.
Period.
Bought my 32 inch LG in 2008.
Still going strong.
I'll buy an LG if it ever needs replacing.
