Bb is strange thing. 1 hour its amazine, 1 hour is fckn shit. Healing system is shit. Bonfire is shit. Level geometry is copi past all level. 2 kind of levels copied to all game.

The only Souls I have not finished yet are Bloodborne and Demon's Souls, I've been playing Bloodborne for about a week now and as a lot of people claim that it is the best game in the series I got into it being really hyped. I'm near the end of the game (haven't gotten into the DLC yet) and at first I tried to find excuses because I felt like I was not enjoying it as much as I should : "Maybe it's because of the 30 fps", "Maybe it's because I haven't found THE weapon" "Maybe it's because I'm not used to the combat yet..." but after about 20 hours, even though I didn't want to admit it at first : I am truly disappointed. When so many people call that one game a masterpiece you hop into it expecting the craziest thing you've ever seen, but that's not how I feel. The game isn't bad, it's fine, but it's one of those games that I'm happy to beat because that means I'm finally getting to play a new one... I wouldn't consider any of the bosses I have faced notable (some of them are cool but in my opinion they are not as memorable as some of the other souls games), most areas look very similar, even though they look really good it just gets boring after a while... I think it's a good game but not as much as people want you to believe. The only things I really like are the atmosphere FromSoft managed to convey with the environment and the dodge that feels fast and satisfying to use. Now I wonder if I would've liked it more if I had played it without knowing that so many find it to be a masterpiece, I feel like I'm disappointed because my expectations were way too high

Feel the same have played alot of soulslikes and fromsoftware games and many people told me bloodborne is the best of them all so I tried it and it felt really mediocre not better than most but not the worst either i mean darksouls 3 sekiro and elden ring are 10x better and the 30 frames and the lack of a pc port doesn't help it either i would give it a 8/10

You know, I was waiting to play this game (I have played Rlden Ring, Sekiro(halfway) and all the dark souls). When I finally got to Bloodborne, it honestly is not hitting as hard as I thought with all the hype. I mean im still on the first map, but there are plenty of mechanics I def dont like in this game. Once I get further I will see how I like it then!
I would be fine with a remake tho. With the new gen and new mechanics. It would prob be a lot better then

I can't agree more with this video, the madness of the Bloodborne "plot" has obviously seeped out into the brains of the rabid fanbase who will defend the game to the death without acknowledging it's many flaws, incomplete areas and limited playstyle. It's fun, don't get me wrong, I played a good 100+ hours of it but it doesn't have anywhere near the depth of the souls series and caters entirely towards glass cannon type players

Here is the truth. The game was intriguing, only up to the Gascoigne boss. After that, it loses steam. The game got stagnant after that. Bloodborne got topped by ds3, sekiro(best game), elden ring. If Bloodborne was a mutiplat to begin with, the fanbois would have said, Demons Souls is the mastapiece of all ages. Bloodborne ain't no Dark Souls.
Sekiro is by FAR not the best game, DS3 is my absolute baby. BB is like Mid-tier from FromSoft, too edgy and not enough focus on crafting interesting levels and creating unique bosses that aren't just flailing gigantic beasts.

All I do is use trick weapons, also guns can do damage, you just need to do a build around it lol. The setting great, the loop back to yharnam gives you access to yosefkas clinic, and castle cainhurst. The blood is both a theme for menstruation and the drainage of blood when a dead person is used as a cadaver. I dont think you fully understand bloodborne. But the fanbase and blood vials suck.

While I appreciate the input, you are in fact wrong on many accounts except for the final statement of the comment. Trick weapons are DOG-WATER, FACT NOT OPINION (FNO). Gun-builds are only viable if you look up how to do it beforehand, and even then, FS games are not designed for ranged combat and providing a still fair challlenge, FNO. Bloodborne is smack dab in the middle, because it isn’t as good as Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 and Dark Souls 1, but it’s not nearly as bad as Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls 2
I don’t hate Sekiro, it just didn’t feel like the type of game FromSoftware would make, the play style of Sekiro was just too different from the Soulsborne genre
Now, I loved the first half of Bloodborne, the city overrun by beasts that were terrifying to fight was awesome
But everything after Shadows of Yharnam, from the bosses to the level designs…were garbage
Except for Mergo’s Wet Nurse, Gehrman and Moon Presence, those three were great
But everything else…I did not like
Overall, Bloodborne is a decent game, if people hadn’t hyped it up as the magnum opus of FromSoft games, maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more, but I just didn’t, the game left a sour taste in my mouth and I doubt I’ll ever play it again, I’m almost better off deleting it

Bruh I saw a poll between which game was better it was GOW 2018 and Bloodborne and literally bloodborne won, I’m trying to see how the heck that was possible. It’s sluggish, stiff and slow, I played this game and literally deleted after I beat the first boss I couldn’t do it. My personal opinion is that "souls" series of games are really very overrated.
If you want to see a game with really good combat system I recomend you two :
Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy
Severance Blade of Darkness
And the two of them are really old, but believe me the gameplay compensate for the old graphics.
These sound kinda trash, too, not going to lie, but maybe one day!

My biggest gripe is that Bloodborne amounts to grind, grind, grind. And for a series that celebrates its bosses, some of the ones in Bloodborne are not good. Cleric Beast, Vicar Amelia, The One Reborn-three examples of bosses that mostly flop on the ground and try to slam you on occasion. (By contrast, the werewolf priest was superb and a real mother to beat.) As far as genre, I’ve heard a lot of people call Bloodborne horror souls, but Bloodborne is dark fantasy, not horror. That’s not a criticism, just a clarification. Sure the game has some Lovecraft nods, but many of the enemies looked as though they stepped out of a fantasy novel .

honestly it was dissapointing to say the least, when you had the one reborn, rom and then a silly guy runnning around with a cage. the game is overrated. how people say any part of this tops the consistancy of ds1 is just wrong. bloodbornes combat is just spamming roll. From a game series that punishes a player on wrong button inputs bloodborne does none of it. from the entire 40 hours from start to end the three bosses worth remembering are two at the start, and literally the end boss. i started the game a few weeks ago. its a never ending purge of just slaughtering things for whatever reason. its boring, its bland, its awful. but the stick is my favourite weapon. the cleaver is strong but boring

I played most of fromsoft games and completed them except ds2 (halfway through it). The last game i finished is bloodborne including dlc , tbh I didn’t really see where the 10/10 s tier rate gameplay. I liked the dodge since you could spam dodge with ease you don’t even need to parry 🤦♂️. The music was ok not bad at all but compared to Elden ring or dark souls in general soundtrack bb is nothing compared to em. I think what made people like bb is just aesthetic look the gothic design to me that was good. The bosses were alright not good but not bad since dlc carries except the living failures wtf is that boss 😂 but other than that the lore I never really cared about it since if you realize throughout your gameplay in fromsoft games they don’t really mention the lore like in full detail could be a me problem. The frame rate was eye burning but I fought through it. Overall I give bloodborne 7/10 good game but not really really good goated

I’ve played Both Dark Souls 1 and 3
Also Played Sekiro
I loved all three of them
But with Bloodborne i feel i’ve only truly enjoyed the DLC
Lady Maria + Ludwig + Orphan
And Gehrman’s Fight and that’s it
Didn’t find anything fun against other bosses
most of the playthrough i’ve only used one weapon and didn’t care enough to change it unlike DS3
Didn’t find anything fun about the areas unlike the other games
And of course being limited to 30 FPS only is also not fun
Bloodborne is a good game at best that one playthrough is enough for me but nowhere near the praise especially when DS1 And DS3 Are Way Better
For me, it was the presentatuon and execution of the game that made it fun.
My personal gripes of the game were the clunky multiplayer, lack of meaningful covenants, lack of motivation to invade other players, and an overall balancing the PVP a bit more.
The lack of resting at the lamp to refill bloodvials/bullets (if you have some to spare) made things incredibly inconvenient along with vials/bullets increasing in price as the game goes on was incredibly inconvenient.
But yeah, the way you presented your argument, while blunt is still valid
While the combat is the same formula in almost every soulsborne game, Bloodborne I feel was the most fluid, and i felt that there was a reason to use nost if the weapons that were boiled down and refined to archetypes as opposed to other titles that have 540 weapons total, 6 weapons types, and only 4 of each being genuinely viable options.
In other soulsborne games, i wasn't all too interested in the lore-- all i had was a goal
Ds3: Kill the Lords of Cinder and rekindle the first flame
Ds2-- break the curse
Bloodborne-- We're given next to nothing, and we're heavily encouraged to read a Bibles worth of items description to even make heads or tails of the story at all.
While the indirect, limited story-telling technique is not new to FROM, but they seemed to lean on it much more within this title.
Which leads me to the next point:
While the story in of itself is not so genius that all other stories before it are mere nursery rhymes by comparison, its the execution of the project, the unity of the art and environment, the musical motifs, and the work we, the players, had to go through to come to the conclusions we do-- We cared enough about the world presented to us that we genuinely wanted to know more and we think its pretty neat.
And while i never really minded Bloodbornes short, concise game as a while, and thus it's use in elevators, i can see why it can feel claustrophobic to those who like to explore like in Elden Ring.
The only thing that bugs me in your whole presentation is you picking a game, looking at the cover-- "Bloodborne" looking at the short description in the back of the case, and then somehow calling the player base edgy when the game surrounds itself around the Paleblood-- Yharnems blood.
Im also aware that heavy tones and heavy use if blood is simple not for everyone-- no big deal, but you got exactly what was advertised.
In conclusion, blunt presentation, I respect that Bloodborne isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I'll even go as far as to agree that we may have over hyped it

I played demon souls, currently elden ring and dark souls 3, and I thought since I’ve finally understood the point of these from soft games I’d try and play bloodborne since I’ve had it on release but never understood how to play. So here I am thinking wow the combat is the same, wow the dodging is the same, the bosses are easy and uninteresting. Bloodvile farmjng is actually so bad, and the shortcuts allll lead you in a full circle where you still don’t know where to go. Somehow I understood where everything was in elden ring but I’m way more lost in bloodborne than I am an open world game,blood borne is repetitive and just unoriginal. I’ll still to dark souls 3 and elden ring since those are actually a blast to play.

Their content is not for everyone. Some people might find EZ's personality to be too obnoxious or their videos to be too immature.
They'll never make a sequel because the community swears its perfect, even though the sales numbers are lower than any recent fromsoft game by A LOT. It's cool that the some people really like it, but sales don't lie, and fromsoft is still a company trying to make a profit
Bloodborne is one of the least inspired and lowest performing FS games. It does not deserve a sequel LOL.
Regardless of your personal feelings about the game, a big reason the sales are so much lower is because it's a Playstation exclusive when all the Souls games, Sekiro and Elden Ring are available on all consoles and PC. So Playstation is the main reason the sales aren't higher. There's lots of people who would be happy to get the game but they don't because they're not interested in getting a Playstation
Trying to go back to old souls games from Elden ring and sekiro is hard for me because of gimmick fights and Bloodborne is a huge gimmick lol

I'm playing Bloodborne now and I can't stand it. I gotta finish it because I'm the type when I commit to something I need to finish it. But honestly I'm not having fun with this game. The previous game I beat was Sekiro and I enjoyed it every bit of it.
Based for trying to commit - I do that in like an obsessive way - just beating every game that I start. BB is overrated and I stand by it. There's plenty of fun to be had, but FS fans ruined a lot of these games for the rest of us tbh.

I went back into Bloodborne after previously beating the game twice to get the Platinum
The magic didn’t seem to be there after playing again but I think it was just the result of me beating it so much
Gameplay wise I don’t think it’s terrible but I don’t see why someone could even place it above Sekiro.

Okay heres my opinion. First off, saying its terrible is an extremely shit take. Its definitely a good game. But overrated. Lets start with the pros. First off, the story is possibly the best of ANY game i have ever played, the lore is god tier. Secondly, the world design, beautiful, its so good, each area is just amazing and honestly idk why, its just so much fun. Thirdly, the combat, absolutely amazing, arguably the best combat besides sekiro, its so aggressive and smooth and i love to bits. And 4th, the weapons, theyre fantastic, so good, arguably the best weapons, the trick weapons was a stroke of genius, and adds so many layers to the combat. Now, onto the cons. Tbh, theres only really 1 con, except its a VERY massive con. The fucking bosses. Theyre pure garbage, all the way up until the blood starved beast, they were great. But vicar emilia was cool, but really easy. Everything past that all the way up until the nurse dude, it was so bad, like half of the bosses there were in my top 5 least favroite bosses ever. But the wet nurse person was a good boss fight, nothing spectacular, but unique and somewhat difficult. But gehrman carried the bosses HEAVILY, hes top 5 bosses of all time for me. His combat is so good, and fast paced, its perfect. Not to mention his cutscene before it. He was a truly amazing boss fight. And then finally, the moon presence. It was extremely cinematic and fun, but wayy too easy, but definitely a cool boss. Thats my take, its perfect in every way besides the bosses. But i do think that the dlc makes up for the shitty bosses in the actual game. Considering that ludwig and orphan of kos were some of the best bosses ever. The only thing thats debatable of what i just said was the map design, i think it was very well done, but some people just dont like the colors, so it really just comes down to a matter of opinion. But everything else that i said, was a fact, and nothing more, nothing less.

You need to play more games if u think the story is the best story to ever grace gaming. There is not one emotional moment in the game. U don't get attached to any characters except for maybe the little girl, which I guess is an emotional moment as well. But to compare the basically puzzle of a story to masterpieces like rdr2, the last of us, GoW the first one, walking dead season 1.
I agree the world design is legit beautiful, but for ppl to say it trumps elden ring for me is overrated bloodborne. The nightmare areas and yharnam are the only visually interesting areas of the game. While elden ring is legit a playable painting that is one of the most beautiful games of all time. From hellish skies, gargantuan trees of light, lakes of blood red rot, a castle that brims with the blue tinge of magic, a snowy graveyard of dead giants. For its time bloodborne is unmatched but you can't say it beats masterpieces or art like elden ring.
100% agree with the trick weapons and the bosses take, although that one god octopus thing was a pretty cool fight in the main game.

@@logeyperogi1805 I still don't see the harm in difficulty options. I wouldn't use an easy mode but I'm not against it. The number one complaint I hear is it would affect multiplayer. Only a fraction of players pvp so this is a weak excuse as far as I'm concerned. So yea I agree. Multiplayer for souls is pretty toxic and an excuse for gatekeeping. Also parries and backstabs are overpowered as hell across the series.

I got into bloodborne pretty recently, as someone who rly enjoys (but is really bad at) the souls trilogy. I really enjoy bloodborne’s lore, because of its Lovecraftian influence. I love lovecraft and was specifically looking for a game w that feel, so that’s actually the whole reason I picked up bloodborne lol.
Anyway, you made some solid points. You’re right that the overall tone and mood of the game aren’t for everyone, and neither is the art style. I love pre -industrial European architecture and art, so that’s just another thing that appealed to me abt the game, but I can see why you don’t like it, (again, it’s not for everyone).
I don’t know about it being one of the worse games out there, as I enjoyed it a lot (and I would love to play a bloodborne two (not to mention how much money fs would make off it, lol), and I can’t speak for the fanbase, as I can’t say I’ve really interacted w it.
I did think the interconnectivity was pretty cool, especially w how often your character was brought back to cathedral ward (I thought this was cool Bc of how central cathedral ward and blood ministration are to yarnham and the lore), but ds 1 was rly cool in that way too.
I liked the combat (gun parries and viscerals are v satisfying imo)
And all this goes to say that I rly don’t take gaming that seriously. I just enjoy what I enjoy, and I enjoy bloodborne. I can count on one hand the number of games I’ve played this year (and that’s picked up and stuck a few hours in, not even completed), and I don’t regret bloodborne being one of them. Whirly gigsaw gave me joy Bc of how dumb it was (same w wheel of giza in elden ring, Bc omg it’s a table saw on the end of a stick it’s horrible and stupid and I love it)
But yeah, just wanted to stick my take in here ig. It was interesting to see some negative opinions of bloodborne in the sea of video essays. I would love to see some expansion on the points you made in this video. If you made a longer one with more detail and supporting facts, I would def give it a watch and a thumbs up :)

It's definitely not for me in terms of the art-style, world-building, bosses, and enemy design (especially since it's quite inferior to the PREVIOUS FS game DS1) but i still respect your opinion.
You will never catch me calling this silly game a masterpiece. the fanbase has been exhausting to deal with, and I am very tired of BB fanboys trying tobring me down just because I was slightly mean about their fav game. Feel free to insult Halo 3 my fav game, you will not se me creepily and obsessively defending any legitimate criticisms :)

And yeah, after my initial comment I took a look into bloodborne and its related tags on Twitter and… oh dear. That’s some BTS level simping after shit lol. Toxic fan bases can take most of the enjoyment out of a lotttt of things.
Ds1 is probably my most replayed game. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone through it at this point, lol.

I have an argument about the Lovecraft comment, I've read about 20 or so of his stories, and have a complete collection book with all 70 of them, I love lovecraft, so I was initially excited too. Then I began playing and realized, sure there's for sure so great lovecraft things, but 90% of it is base level lovecraft, any idiot can identify great ones with Lovecraft, show someone a picture of cthulhu and they'll instantly know, so I don't think the game is as indulged in lovecraft as everyone says. Then there the point that FromSoft games aren't good for telling Lovecraftian stories, the lore definitely fits the bill, like the Fishing Hamlet, but the game itself takes away the core of a Lovecraft story, the fragility of the human mind when faced with the unknown, my character is going to die over and over again, but still come back to life, there's no fear of madness, hence taking away all the tension and horrifying impact of a Lovecraft story, it matters not what happens to my main character, because he'll just come back to life, whereas in Lovecrafts stories (other than Re-animator) no-one comes back, and if they do they are most definitely not the same. Thats why it sometimes pisses me off when I see how much praise it is for being the FromSoft Lovecraft game, when its really just base level, with a few of his short stories like "Shadow Over Innsmouth" with like the Fishing Hamlet, "Call of Cthulhu", and other great ones stories. I'd say the game is more Junji Ito and gothic horror, with the cosmic horror of Lovecraft. The lore though, thats when it engulfed with Lovecraft, still base level, but done well.

Where do I begin talking about the king of gaming he is the greatest person to ever walk on earth imagine a life where it is a being simply run by pure logic and discipline his videos to the average person aka fraud may appear lazy with just text and an image of the said topic but in reality it's a subterfuge for the frauds who can't synthesize such knowledge at an almost 4 dimensional level of thinking his lexical ability is unmatched he is displays such magnificent in depth analytical skills that if you aren't fully engaged for even a second will perplex you to all extents of the word leaving you with the only plausible answer that you moronic bottom feeders can come up with
This game gets more praise than it deserves because its a PS exclusive. I have it on PS4 and I've finished Sekiro more than it, because its superior.
