Native Fish Conservation in Yellowstone National Park

Conservation actions in Yellowstone National Park provide refugia for native fish in a world where nonnative otherwise fish dominate. Managing ecosystems for the enjoyment of future generations in America’s first national park is accompanied by challenge, innovation, and hope.
Bio:
Andi Puchany joined the Native Fish Conservation Program in 2014. A North Dakota native, Andi received her B.S. in Zoology at NDSU and her M.S. in Fish and Wildlife Management at Montana State University. Her current work is focused on westslope cutthroat trout and Arctic grayling conservation, population recovery assessments, and lake trout reproductive ecology. Andi is passionate about mentoring early-career employees, science communications, and appreciating each moment spent in the wildness of Yellowstone. Outside of work, Andi enjoys training her pets, learning the piano, and adventuring with her husband in Montana.
