It looks like the difference is she’s getting the racket a bit more slightly under the ball before contact!

gave it a like. drills were very good. I think it would be a better lesson if you explained why the "after" stroke was better or at least produced more spin. She had a steeper upward swing path in the after.

helpful - looked like the raquethead simply dropped lower below the ball than before - perhaps due to a loosening of the wrist ?

This young lady could hit with a frying pan. The flatter topspin didn't need change, but adding a lower backswing and more windshield did give her more margin for error. Both strokes were very nice though. Always good to have more weapons in the arsenal.

It also looks like you're having her swing on a steeper angle through the ball. In her original swing the swing looked flatter.

I like how much distance the ball clears the net after each stroke. It shows the proper ball loop after the strike, very much like at the beginning when’s she’s asked to hit at the net from down low. Learners should pay attention to the shape of the loop and you’ll know that you are generating real rpm when the ball lands and kicks up on the other side. For me I make sure my stroke clears the net by at least one racket length at the net and the generated rpm should bring the ball down and kick it up again real high, making life hard for my opponent. Djokovich does it real well in this case.

Hi Time Value of Tennis, what string and tension are you using in your Pure Drive? Looks like Yasmine has a similar set up?

Indeed, she is at a very high level player already. Therefore, it is easier to work with her than amateur players. It did take the whole sessions (2 hours) to get her top spin better. We showed only the main drills that Sergey did with her. it does require a lot of repetition in order to get better.

Hi Sergey, do you know of some exercises to improve my quickness and also my coordination and focus between my eyes and hand? I saw a player, in an ATP tournament, do these exercises with a coach, before going on the court. He only used a tennis ball. I think they were warming up. Do you have a video about it?

Thank you for your comment. Specifically for Yasmine please watch starting 2.06. Hitting the ball starting on the sweet spot and then going down 3-5 string is very important in order to get topspin. Many players hit the ball slightly above the sweet spot which opens the racquet if you try to hit the ball aggressively and slows the pace if you come straight up. The things that people need to work on are slightly different as the source of the mistakes could be different. Let us know if you have any other questions.

if you do this swing it means you'll be swinging less through the ball and this can only mean one thing -- goodbye Capriati/Davenport deep, heavy forehands; hello Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario forehands

Sergy I am sorry to say but this was the worst Video from you. No explanation how she hit more Topspin. Just two drills, second drill there was now flat ball, just bouncing at normal high. Then you have a look at the result in slow motion you can see that she is just swinging more from right too left. Compared to the beginning their she is hitting more through the Ball. In slowmo you can also see that real problem is after her backswing her wrist is collapsing and the tip of her racket is pointing too the left side. Shorten her backswing , keep the tip of the racket on her right side.

Thank you for your comment! Please review the video starting at 2.06. I explain what helps her to get topspin. Here is a video that supports that point in more detail. ua-cam.com/video/Lf5DYapdDhU/v-deo.html
She started doing windshield viper (swing from the right to the left), and she did it well considering that she did not compromise her swing and follow through. Her backswing is a bit too big; however, due to her racquet traveling a bit too high and close to the head at the start of the takeback. Her wrist is very loose and creates a nice wrist lag. Working on her takeback would be something for another video. In retrospect, she times the ball really well and her point of contact at the right spot almost all the time.
Here are a few more videos on topspin:

Sergey, I didn't quite get the point. It's the general knowledge, I'm aftaid. Anyway done well for I really like your ala Federer style of moving footwork and style.
I had to put dislike for I sincerely didn't understand why all the way you called the lady as "she" never mentioning her name. Depersonalization? Sure you're very talented hardworking and kind person. I just can't stand these manners. So that's why. I regret as well. Still waiting your great vids
