  • The program gathers stories from Korova, one of the Islands that still relies on the Fijian Canoe today. Sepet Matararaba, an Archaeologist from the Fiji Museum, discusses the present-day size of the Fijian Canoe, and how it compares to canoes of the past. Locals explain the different parts of the Fijian Canoe, as they are experts in the making and sailing of the canoe.

You just hit another nail to an ancient coffin about the history of magnetic stone transportation from a middle East Fijian reef to Kosrae then Pohnpei in Micronesia. Where two gigantic brothers,17 men and women + Fiti pul a large serpent. Who transported the magnetic stones of their city from Moturiki reef in Fiji to Kosrae then Pohnpei in Micronesia. In Moturiki we have the names Korovatu(stone village),Korobaba(village built with structural fences),Vatulavelavesa(lifted sacred stones),Vatuwaqa levu(stones loaded on a big boat),Vatuwaqa lailai(stones loaded on a small boat,in that case Fiti pul the serpent/dragon),Delainawaqaibonu(on top of a serpent or dragon boat)..And the name of this small canoes from Moce called Bakanawa means dragon to you guys from the Phillipines just confirmed that stone transportation from Fiji to Pohnpei reef, Micronesia for Nan Madol ocean city..Also the name of a part of that small Bakanawa canoe mentioned in the post above is called Naivavada, which is the name of a hill below Delainawaqaibonu on Uluibau Moturiki. There are other names in Fiji like Vatubalavu(log stones) in Navosa or Waqavatu(boat loaded with stones) in Kadavu or somewhere else in fiji which can both support this historic stone transportation account from Fiji to Pohnpei Micronesia. And your dragons name Bakanawa links with the Bakanawa canoe from Moce Lau,as a dragon or serpent was act as a small boat that loaded with log stones strapped on her back that day(in the 8th century AD).As they transported the magnetic stones from Moturiki reef, Fijis Burotu Empire stronghold to Pohnpei Micronesia. Thanks for sharing bro..
