Josh Groban listened to the song "Broken Vow" of Lara and he fell in love with it. He asked Lara if he could cover this beautiful song. She said yes. I have watched so many reactions to this song and you guys are the first to have mentioned that the song sounded familiar, and that they remembered it being sung by a guy. All this time I'm thinking, " Has no one ever heard this song before, especially since the version by Josh Groban was so popular?" The version by Josh Groban was the most popular version in the US.

Why was this song by Lara Fabian, a song that she wrote together with Walter Athanasief, not a worldwide hit back in 2000/2001? I do not understand that! This song, this voice, this performance is a number 1 hit, an evergreen. Lara Fabian herself said that this song is one of her most beautiful songs from her meanwhile impressive repertoire, a song that has already been covered by so many other singers. Her version remains the best for me!
Because her label failed her completely. She signed with Sony, which was also Celine Dion's label, and Celine's people were threatened by Lara. So they forced Lara down a different path that wasn't true to who she is. It all fell apart and Lara, understandably, left it all. They were so incredibly stupid to treat this extraordinary woman the way they did, and it's incredibly sad for all of us.

No. This was no in Les Mis. This song was written by Lara Fabian for her 1999 album. The stage production (and therefore the movie) music was first performed in 1980 when Lara would have been 10 years old.
Also, the subject matter of the song isn't the same as that of the play/movie or the book by Victor Hugo.

Yes, Lara did write the words to this song. But, the incredible twist about this song is that the music was written by her ex-boyfriend who the song is about. Her ex is Walter Afanasieff. Walter is the guy that co-wrote many songs with Mariah Carey such as the songs Vision Of Love, Hero, and When You Need A Friend. Yes that same guy was dating Lara and when they broke up he left just the music part with Lara which she then used to sing about him braking up with her. Talk about revenge. Man !!!!!!!!! Lara sings in a bunch of other languages including Spanish, English, French and more. Her Spanish song called Quedate from this same concert is fire too. I recommended reactions of her for years. Finally, people are hearing her in the USA.
