Nice. I received an email this morning about firmware .7.4 fixing this complaint. I installed .7.4, but it keeps reverting to .7.3 and the issue is not resolved. I reported this to radioddity, but it appears they are going to fix this problem.
I am extremely disappointed in them telling me it was fixed, only to walk back on what they told me, after I relayed this to everyone. I'm sure the radio itself is fine, but I am let down that I cannot use a basic function that even a $20 usd radio allows for (I think it cost me 170 or 190 for the radio).
This radio will be up for sale AFTER the review video. Don't forget to subscribe and click the notification bell to be alerted when it is on Ebay! It will be your chance to get a great deal!
one thing I'm curious about.. in aprs settings, there is a option "aprs passcode".. That's only used to Igate packets? But it also says "mistake" next to it, so perhaps it's just that, added by accident..
I received my radio on Friday and have mainly been playing with APRS. The HT app has many more features on the Android version. The iOS version is nicer looking but is missing the ability to send images, CW, voice, etc. The iOS version also is lacking the ability to choose between the Channel Groups so I just toggle between them on the radio. Each group can contain only 16 channels so I was unable to add all the GMRS channels in one group. I really like the radio so far. The phone software is very quirky though and very unintuitive. I'm sure that it will improve.
Are there any DTMF memories that can be programmed with sequences for your node? That's how I prefer to manage mine, not that many radios are well equipped for that task. My DMR radios with OpenGD77 are the only ones that allow me to save, xmit and actually NAME a DTMF string, which is incredibly helpful. I guess my Yaesu FT3D does too, but it's clunky and awkward.
Hey there nice catch. I believe you're talking about what looks like a button in between my fingers on the side of the radio. If so, I'll double check, but I believe that was a microphone hole. Maybe the light just reflected on it weird. Thanks
I started a FB group for this .

Just an update. Unfortunately, I have been told that they're actually not fixing the DTMF issue, I like they stated to me
@@HAMRADIODUDEso do not buy it?

@@lemielek it's a good radio once you figure out the settings. I don't need dtmf for anything so I'm not worried Ifit doesn't work...

I find the owner's manual to be very poor. The unit i received had no FCC ID.
Sean, at 3:44 I see a tiny white switch that I presume to be the keyboard lock. Not sure if this is the cure though. 73 OM
