the only thing that allows this cpu to have acceptable performance to date is the fact of having hyperrading, those 4 more treads make the difference. that's why all the old i7s with suitable vga still manage to make you enjoy gaming discreetly, while all i5s below the eighth generation intel have very marked limits. in fact my old i5 3570k could no longer satisfy my needs and, even if it worked very well, I replaced my pc 8 months ago with one with a ryzen base. the only component that makes me turn up my nose is the motherboard, really ugly and cheap.

@@DLMtechgarage Yes, I agree so I bought a 500GB for $60 bucks and cloned the HD today with a cleaned Window installation, but for some reason, at the first attempt, it failed to clone properly but up and running now.
In fact, I am using it now.
The best part about all this after getting it home, it booted up the first time I thought I was just buying for parts.
@@junkman4126 great tohear budget deals are still around!! Awesome find my friend!
@@DLMtechgarage Just got to be willing to hit the thrift stores and church sales.
@@junkman4126 yup that's what I do all the time, just been dry lately.
DLM or anyone else.....I too run a 2600K @4.5mhz paired with an AMD R9 fury. I swapped two 7970's years ago for the single R9 and it helped a bunch , but do you thing that even that GPU may be bottle necking my games a bit? Example : I tried playing Arma 3 a few weeks ago for the first time........and my game was kind of like a slide show. Un-playable.
fury should be way faster, . will post a link to the calculator that I use to help with bottlneck calculation. Checkin it shows a 10 percent bottlnec for 1080p but less for 1440p. I would say the cpu is holding it back.

i7 2700k 4,8ghz on a gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 for nearly 10 years now....im gonna change my 980 for a new GPU when prices are regular again..im not in a hurry...but fps are not gonna increase too much cause ill upgrade my 1080p monitor for a 1440p at the same time...my 2700k will remain in charge for at least another 3 years.
i hear ya man, i look back and should of save the money and kept my i7 8700k. that 2700k is pretty sweet and are great builds!
Once again like watching ur youtube video another good video hooe u r well
Thanks, glad you like them, I am doing great thanks for asking, Hope all is well with you and thanks for supporting the channel!!
legendary cpu.
For real, and still hold up very well!
@@DLMtechgarage what cooling fo you use for your i7? Right now I only have the stock cooler, but planning to upgrade it to a 6 heatpipe Snowman. :)
the only thing that allows this cpu to have acceptable performance to date is the fact of having hyperrading, those 4 more treads make the difference.
that's why all the old i7s with suitable vga still manage to make you enjoy gaming discreetly, while all i5s below the eighth generation intel have very marked limits.
in fact my old i5 3570k could no longer satisfy my needs and, even if it worked very well, I replaced my pc 8 months ago with one with a ryzen base.
the only component that makes me turn up my nose is the motherboard, really ugly and cheap.
true
Muddling through Fallout 4 VR with a Strix 1070 locked @45 FPS with Oculus Tray Tool. No overclocks yet till I figure out some cooling issues
these chips overclock pretty well I have found and def can give you a nice littel boost for gaming. I have found the temps to be manageable and not crazy.
Have a 2700k oc to 4.7ghz and a z77v pro motherboard pairing an rtx2080
Mostly bottleneck by CPU but most of the game can run 60fps above, solid cpu
it really is a solid cpu. I tell people all the time balance is key when buying parts.
H67 is the worst chipset for the i7-2600k since it does not overclock but uses the integrated GPU. I got the P68 which does overclocking but not integrated gpu but you could also use Z68 which does both. still keeping it at 4.6ghz after 12 years without any issues.
Strangely, my 3570K only managed to get half the fps your're getting, despite pretty similar PC setup. 🤷♂
Anyway, roughly how many fps for CP2077 @ Ultra can you get with this CPU + 4090 ? 🤔
4090 plus this would be a show for sure lol..
i just bought a i7 2600k for 100$CAD (80$USD) on eBay shipped. Sounds like even after 11years its still a bargain for 1155socket for the Asus Z68pro gen3 i got for free all because my PC died - building on budget
bang for the buck is what it's all about bro. This combo is awesome and thats a good deal as the US price is like almost $200.
@@DLMtechgarage yeah Thats another reason I jumped on the deal quick. The seller was in Canada as well so shipping only like 1 week. Also loving the i7 2600k integrated graphics feature to get up and running quicker. Cant go wrong at the price for the chip - more then a bargain IMO
I like that case, what is the brand name of this case that you are using?
Never mind, your video gave me the answer.
I will stick to my Antec 300 old school.
still a cool case. I did a review and build video on that thermal take case.

I do have a question for cyberpunk you using a 980 with a i72600k 1080p on low with avg fps of 45 why is that? Bc I'm using a i7 2600k gtx 960 2gb 1080p high settings with a average of 42 fps? Shouldn't your fps be higher especially since you're on low settings
varies depending on a number of factors, could be the cpu, memory, type sometimes you get different results. i think this cpu was on its way out.
Can it go with RTX 6400 or GTX 1050 Ti , without an external power supply ?
it can
i use 2600 with MSI H67 mb, what if i change the gpu to rx 6600 can these still game? or just slightly upgrade the complete setup to R7 1700x with gtx 1650, which setup would get a slightly better gaming experience?
the r7 1700x with a rx 6600 would be a better combo.
Playing Starfield on medium/high settings in upscaled 4k with this cpu! 😂
Did you overclock the processor?
nahh overclocking is not my thing but I have seen that overclocking this cpu does help it more.
I think that system will run fine until MS drops Win 10 support in 2025.... Probably would work fine past that on Linux, etc. Epic CPU.
yea she def got some more good years life in her!
What is a good cheap motherboard that will allow i7 2600 16gb ddr3 and Gtx 1650 ? Help
their as so many options, best is usually an asus one in my opinion.
I have the same motherboard and cpu. It's OC?
the cpu is and you can do some oc with the board but the board is limited due to the cheap and non cooled vrm.
@@DLMtechgarage thank you

I get hitching and stutter on my i7v2600k rx 480 combo idk what to do
spectre meltdown patch would help. link below it. I have seen more stability and better fps when doing the patch.
www.grc.com/inspectre.htm
@@DLMtechgarage so how does this help with hitchingvand stutter in games
@@Dmoney4183 not sure how to explain it but I have found doing this trick helps with stutters, and fps increase. not much but the biggest thing is stability and constancy.
other factors can be, temps, amount of ram, is it in dual channel and ofcourse drivers and bios update.
I'm guessing this is a msi p67a-gd53 which is the one I am using I see you have slots 2-4 is this the correct slots to use and I have been using slots 1-3 🤣
slots 2 and 4 is to utilize the dual channel memory, def a big performance gain going that route.

Not going to build this for $300 though more like $500
700 watt PSU way too much overkill for that computer, could have gone with 450 to 500 watt

yea the i5 9300h is faster then this cpu. i believe it's like 5 percent faster.
