    If you keep the brussel sprouts on the stalk in a cool to cold place they will last for several months. I have also heard that to harvest and store cabbage you should pull the cabbage out of the ground by the root, tie a piece of string on the stem and hang them upside down in a cold place.

      Sandie Black yes, it's true. Cabbage can be stored that way quite well. But it's a bit of a pain in the neck to dig them out and then hang them by the stalk.

    Another way to store onions is by getting pantyhose and placing them into the stocking and tieing a knot.
