It's so weird to watch a RPDR sketch in which everyone is doing a great job. In a regular season, there's always someone who hasn't yet figured out that they need to over act to stand out. Here, everyone is doing a standout performance.

Part of it because they brought a real director here.
Ross & Michelle were terrible directors they rarely give any directions & were just being shady for TV. If the finished products are trash the directors are more than half to blame
Is because production is helping the girls in every challenge so no one will look like the weakest link or would tarnished their winner reputation

I dread the skits. They are almost always painfully unfunny and I get secondhand embarrassment so bad. Not sure how you throw a bunch of funny queens together and end up with this.
They've been doing great since Daytona Winds. Great job whoever is the next writer. I hope that writer will be hired in season 15 again. I'm tired of those cringey ones

Vivienne was INCREDIBLE. So were Jinkx and Raja… I think Raja’s runway is what got her that top spot. No season is ever gonna compare to this… I have never felt so much joy watching something
I agree - Raja had a meatier part than some of the others - but the runway is what gave it to her.
Monets performance in this was incredible as well she makes a talented actress/actor
I don’t know why but Jinkx speaking in a satanic voice saying “You shall not speak of a bearded one that way.” Killed me
Just hated the end though. (Not even going to touch the extra stars and tie and so forth).
If you're going to award a crown based on how someone did over the season, that's cool. Say and commit to that.
If you're going to have a lip sync for the crown and that determines the winners, commit to that. If they stood by the rules they made, Monet should have won and Yvie should have won SDADHH.
This is an unfortunate All Stars pattern. They never really did find a good format when they should have just operated AS like a regular season. All Stars 3 had the last second jury twist. All Stars 8 had the fame games "multiplier" that rendered fan voting meaningless.

Just like every other acting challenge, the script is god-awful, but the queens are so talented they made it work.
This season really is in a tier of it’s own
the script is fine, its not oscar worthy or whatever but its WAY WAY better than all the painfully unfunny bullshit we ve had to endure for years
yeah, sadly. The last regular season was a bit of an uptick with some better material (after the absolute clusterfuck that was RuMerican Horror Story. But now we are back to terrible scripts with uneven parts, unfunny dialog and a story that annoys more than it entertains.
This was just boring. And I was really looking forward to it 😅
@@memento81 Facts. Daytona Wind leaned way in to the ironic campiness of it all, and the twist made it really entertaining and also engaging to watch despite the fact that we had just watched the queens acting it out minutes before
@@nicotbh8304 that twist was so gloriously stupid. And it worked and was funny. Too bad that was an exception. I would really like to know who writes all those things and why so many are such hack jobs. I have written a couple pages of fun banter and small sketches for my local Berlin drag friends over the years. It feels like we put more effort into a show-script that will be seen by a hundred people, not millions. How is it that they can't find better writers in freakin Hollywood? They have the budget and they could have the talent.
Oh well, at least they are bringing in more professionals for directing now instead of letting Michelle have 1990s flashbacks from her surgeon's office shouting "BIGGER!" for 10 minutes straight. xD

Jinx's character is like putting a dark curse on this play because she didn't get the part she wanted lol

I wish Shea would stop picking the “straight” character (meaning the serious one). She did it before for the courtroom improv challenge, and it’s just not a winning choice. She could do great in any other role.

@@du_zacksclaw yes so true, I remember she wanted the bitchy popular serious girl, but Nina Bobina Brown played that and she played the nerdy, old, pregnant high school. It was so unexpected and out of her comfort zone, but she fully gave into the character and it was so comical and just amazing!

They gave Jinx the most uninteresting character and she gave a top 3 performance imo. I just hope they don't keep trying to hold her back.
The only way the other queens can win at this point is if they gang up on her and I would really hate it if this season became AS4 part 2, where the most talented queen is knocked down by scheming and not being out performed in the competition

I liked this challenge but I can’t be only one that thought this was crazy random lol. A Christmas based horror acting challenge released in July. Anyways, Viv and Raja were very good but I thought the top 2 would have been Viv and Jinkx.

Everyone was so good though, I thought Shea also really rocked her performance! Jaida was absolutely adorkable! And Trinity made me laugh out loud! I feel like a lot of weeks it could go either way for at least 4-5 queens to win (which is amazing, this season is freaking next level!)
In my opinion Jinx's choices she made with the character didn't make sense to me considering her role is based off of Gretchen from mean girls.

Not enough credit for Trinity’s inner dialogue. Usually these acting challenges are cringy and while sure it’s long cause they need to feature all queens it was very well done. (Hard to go wrong with the talent though)

The first scene of The Viv and final scenes of Jinkx and Monet were the best things of a disappointing scripted challenge. The cast deserved better.

Everyone did a really good job with this challenge! A lot of overacting for my taste, but even Shea who didn't have a very versatile role did a really good job 😃
Thank god! Thought I was crazy with all the comments and the jinks favoritism. Sooo much overacting - everyone really really wanted to win and made some strange extreme facials with every line- and yet still did well. I also think Shea’s character was quite pleasant to watch. Trinity also did well. A good performance all around.
All overacted (in a good way) but Shea and Monet kept it composed and fun! 😍😍😍
I thaught Shea had the best acting of the bunch tbh, but everyone knows overacting gets Ru's attention the best so I guess Jinx and Viv was the best in that category haha

Cause I deffo don’t agree with your choice of Yvie as a top 2, but at the same time she has never really rocked my boat that much. I also saw a few comments praising Jaida in this, and she was the worst for me - another one who was never really my favorite.

Anyone else make all stars a part of their weekly family tradition? My husband and I (and our toddler daughter) are obsessed with this season. These queens are our guiding lights during these troubling times. 😍😍😍😭😭😭
Here too! My mom, husband, and 2 daughters one is 8 and the other is almost 5 months and she squeals with delight at The Viv and Raja, watch every week. We'll also just put it on the TV when there isn't anything on. We love it.

I constantly worry I am failing them both and doing everything wrong, but at least I expose them to sheer brilliance, which is drag. Lol. Their cousin is a drag queen so it's a "normalcy" in my family. And we don't take ourselves too seriously in this house. We love and laugh hard in this house.

I feel like Monet has massive potential with the right vehicle. To me she kind of transcends drag and is a character actor first and foremost. She’s just naturally funny and engaging. She has a certain quality that I don’t think can be captured to its fullest on RDR. I can absolutely see her in mainstream Hollywood movies.

She did great but she was a bit too serious. With a script like that you have to go insane because it's a fever dream 😂
@@alessioagostinis9759 I don’t know I feel like her slightly more grounded approach was necessary as the lead character, so many other people where just doing so much if shea did it as well then the product would be overall less enjoyable. For example with her scenees with viv and jinkx I’d shea was insane I think they would of been worse. To me this is why jinkx underperformed this challenge as she constantly stayed at this high camp instance energy level.
I didn't expect a lot from Viv at the beginning, but now, I really want her in the Finale, She's amazing!
