Oh my! 1. That turned out great! 2. We have a super fun summer camping trip planned....excuse me while I go order a new mattress, because our current RV mattress is garbage! Loved this transformation!
Agree the white brightened things up and also the pillow grain of lines matched the direction of the pattern in the wall paper you put on so even different textures it still worked
It’s amazing how those relatively small changes affected the appearance of the bedroom! …and the tie-back for the curtain?? GENIUS! Great job and great video!
You could use contact paper to cover the bottom of the tray. And also put double side velcro strip to hold the tray in place while traveling, but still removable. Oh and bet y'all will like the curtain better. Love the colors!
Ahhhh...I was looking to see if someone had the same idea as me. LOL Great minds think alike! Yes! I agree! Mattress cover IS a good idea! I LOVE the changes!
That wallpaper really does make that space look bigger. Actually the curtain does as well, it doesn't look as heavy as the wood does. I really love your sheets and blanket, beautiful colors. Huge success!
I told my husband while we were camping last weekend - when you’re at home, there’s always a running list at the back of your head of what you should be working on, so even when you try to relax those things are always haunting you. When you’re camping, there’s nothing to do - which is so beautiful. Happy travels!
idea for Tom's feet hanging off: a padded/upholstered piece of wood attached with hinges that can fold up into use and down and away for walking around.
At first I didn’t want you to cover the darker “wood”. However, after you did, I really like it as it does lighten up the area. About those bedside trays, why don’t you cover the inside of them with the same peel and stick wallpaper? I think that would look great. Looks great! Love the bedding! Where did you get the green cover? BLESSINGS!!!
I love what ya did - I'm always for making a space brighter and more open! Love the idea of the curtain too. Looks great, Dawn! Tom, as always, you're awesome bc of your willingness to be open and listening to Dawn even though you probably got more of your way this time. 💕
I like the new bedding and the white wall does make it look more roomy. Suggestion: If the bubbles in the wall paper bother you, you can poke them with a pin and smooth the air out, may help a bet.
I really like the minimal changes you've made, it makes a huge impact. I have taken a couple of doors off, even in my house, and replaced with a heavy weight curtain... and I love it that way. The sheet set is beautiful and elegant. I'm glad you didn't paint, I can't imagine it looking better and look at the time and energy you saved. Thank you both for the video.
We LOVE camping. Our kids are grown and we now own a small campervan that is perfect for 2 people. We are just getting ready for a cross country road trip, and have been decluttering and rearranging things to fit into our small space. So glad I am practiced at decluttering thanks in part to channels like yours Dawn.
The RV looks great! I have sheets and towels that are a different color/pattern than what I have in the house. It makes sorting the laundry easy to know where everything goes. One set per room avoids needing to fold!
We do the same. Works great-wash/dry, put sheets right back on the camper bed and towels on the hooks and we’re ready to roll the next weekend. Most was “free”-I took duplicates (that I didn’t actually need anyway) from my own house as a decluttering project. Win-win 🥳
Love it! I am with Tom I don't mind a dark bedroom it's for sleeping after all but I love the transformation. Just a thought but perhaps a rubber matting or something under those trays to stop them flying off when you're moving? I'm really enjoying all the new stuff you guys are up too :)
We spend a lot of time at our place on a major river in Tennessee, and it's time to upgrade. We are in the process of looking for a newer 5th wheel to replace our current one. I am seeing SO many updated, remodeled campers in our search. I love them! I would really like to get one with white cabinets, lighter colors, and modern light fixtures. I don't know why more camper manufacturers aren't using the updated interiors.. I'd love to reno one, but my husband isn't on board with that idea after renovating our house twice over the past 20 years. Your quick renovations turned out great. Love the brightness of the bedroom area now. Great job!
We just purchased our first camper and we are so excited to do some cosmetic upgrades! My husband actually brought up painting the camper first! (Granted it is a super old 90s pop up so it needs some upgrading)
We also have an aftermarket mattress in our pre-owned trailer. It was so heavy we could barely lift up for storage access. My husband installed two lifts rated for 150 lbs. Works great. SUSPA Lift Supports 2 pkg was $21.98. Thought this info might help someone else. Besides camping, you two are my happy place!
I love the way the camper bedroom looks now- definitely more personality and the curtain is a great solution. I've house-sat for a few times for friends and family while they were away to look after their pets and its always the most fun when they have chickens. I'm envious of whoever will be looking after yours while you go on your trip!
Wow. Little things mean a lot! Back wall & bedding looks great, & the current functionality seems so much better (mattress & curtains). Taking weight off a camper is so important.
Absolutely love you guys! And I am 55, mother of 3, Grandma of 4 and you have taught me so much through minimalism. It is truly a more peaceful lifestyle. Thank you for all you do.
Please don’t take this comment the wrong way because you both are such a fresh breath of air. But the best part of your UA-cam channel is that you are both able to disagree and still make it work. You are able to work together and be friends are the end of the day. Praying for your continued success in a crazy world.
Fun to see the "season" of life that y'all are in. Now retired with a "new to us " 2018 Classic Airstream , streaming the USA. For some reason I want to use dandelions in my decor, so hoping I can find "peel & stick". Loved the color & brightness that you brought into the camper. FUN !
We helped our daughter and her family reno an older camper this fall and late winter! It turned out great and I’m so proud of it! We used that wall paper too and yours turned out great!
I spray painted my metal rods black last summer and loved it. I like your style with the bedspread and sheets and the tie back is so something I would have done too!!!!
I own and love those sheets, too! Someone recommended Target sheets for their extra depth because I was complaining about my fitted sheets always migrating up and off my mattress. After a week, I went back and bought a second set to be able to wrap the box spring in one, too. (Which also works out because my husband and I have separate flat sheets, so now we have two matching ones.) And I wound up reusing the bags they came in as mending project bags. :)
Tips for your side trays! 1. You could put some of the sticky wallpaper on the bottom of the tray and it match. 2. And then you should put some velcro command strips underneath so that they don't slide around while you are driving.
Enjoy your camper we did camping years ago then got out of it because we needed to take care of parents. We are now back into having a camping and we do it to get away from our responsibilities at home. You are so right about what you do have to manage. We don’t have a lot but we need to get away from it and relax. We love the city and state parks. Enjoy the new camper
100% agree with Joe about the freedom a camper provides. It changes your mental load. I don't see the laundry that has to be done or lawn that needs work or toys to pick up. It's very freeing and allows you to focus on the here and now.
I agree with you for camping too. We love to get away from home and spend time in nature- it’s so relaxing! We really have become minimal for camping too- we’re even ditching the tent and hanging up a tarp! We take the side by side up into the National forest and it’s so peaceful
This looks so nice. In Kansas we went from winter to summer too. It’s hot and beautiful. We are thankful for each day. Hubby spent 11 months Ill from a botched surgery. He is just back on his feet and so happy to feel like getting out. 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙
I’m getting my trailer ready this weekend too! I live in my trailer during the summer so this weekend was all about de-winterizing and cleaning for next week’s move in. Since I move twice a year (winter rental to trailer in the spring and reverse in the fall) and the trailer is a small space, reducing my inventory and decluttering has been helpful/necessary. I love all the tips, tricks, and mindset video you share. I still have more work to do to reduce and organize my stuff but it’s getting better each season. I’ve even been sharing the knowledge I’ve learned with my trailer neighbours. Thanks, Julie-Muskoka Lakes, Ontario, Canada
Camping near Yellowstone starting tomorrow!! I wish we could get by with only a sheet and comforter, but it gets way too cold at night where we camp. I love camping for all the reasons you mentioned Tom. I could live in my camper as a family of five in a heartbeat!
What a difference just that stick on light wallpaper makes! Taking out the sliding doors and replacing with a curtain also looks so much airier. The bedding is lovely also!😁
As usual you do not disappoint ! I tell my husband ALL the time that I would love to meet you! If you ever head to Colorado I would love to see you all.
Looks great! The new mattress, curtain, sheets, sticky paper made a bigger change than you think. Truthfully, I postpone painting as long as possible, lol!
You guys are so cute! (I'm 70 so I can say that!) Anyway...LOVE your camper. Love how well the two of you work together and support each other's dreams. You said you would like to know what your viewers are doing this weekend... I'm kicking myself for staying home and finishing a Quilt of Valor to donate thru my quilt guild (which I totally enjoy doing) but my husband went for a hike around Monarch lake and saw a Moose...and I missed it! Next time! Happy camping!
If you still have some wallpaper left you can line the tray with that. It will match and it’s a no cost/low time solution. Looks great! Super clever to have the curtain and repurposing the bedding packaging as a tie back. Great job !
I did a YARDSALE. Been watching you Cass, and Danan a couple of months and realized my "Load Mangament" was way over what I was willing to do. Of course once my older mother knoew I was planning fro a yardsale she "swedish death cleaned" (i'm super proud of her her) her house and gave me evertything for my yardsale. We had it today and made good money and everyithing else is being donated or sold. Thank you ladies for your philosophy on life!
Dawn, you did so well. It was so good to see you relax about a project and follow some of Tom's advice. All round so peaceful. It looks great. You all made me smile 😊 Enjoy the camping trip!
Hi Dawn and Tom - love your videos so much! Your new camper is great and I like how you improved minor little fixes but added such value and touches to the room! Your RV I am envious to want to go camping - I loved camping but never had anyone to go with nor have I had a vehicle! Every ten years I get a weeks worth (not enough for me) chance to get an invite to go camping and I loved it! It is cold in Winnipeg manitoba 🇨🇦 so staying indoors getting projects done like getting rid of stuff in basement, laundry and minimizing papers
Love it! The bedroom looks great w/the fresh colors & white wall....We upgraded from a pop-up last year & I had so much fun decorating it! Camping is freedom from all our responsibilities at home...We can focus on our family/loved ones w/out all the distractions & that's the best feeling ever!
I am a naturally organized person that absolutely LOVES your videos and you! The thoughtful way you share your concepts are the key to your success, I’m sure. I’ve learned so much, have your wonderful book, and have binged all the videos. We’ve been married 53 years, 3 kids and 5 grandchildren and we have saved waaaaaaaay too much. It’s all somewhat organized, ☺️but still… too much. Thank you to you and Tom for such great content and a look into your life. 🥰 The changes in the camper are perfect! And the tie for the curtain? Icing on the cake!🤗
We recently bought Beddy's bedding for our camper. It zips up and makes it super easy to make the bed. We are considering getting one for the bunk beds as well. :)
I put removable paper on the inside back of my dark bookcases. I didn't know if it would help. WOW it worked. The darkness has been pushed out with the paper. I have bubbles also but the bubbles are covered by books. Nothing is square but it is what it is! Good luck.

It looks great and you could cover the bottom of the trays with that white vinyl from the wall.🥰 Happy camping 🏕!!!!💗
Oh my! 1. That turned out great! 2. We have a super fun summer camping trip planned....excuse me while I go order a new mattress, because our current RV mattress is garbage! Loved this transformation!
Where did you get that bedspread. I love that it’s so light and thin for hot nights.
Can you please link your comforter or what brand it is? Tried looking on the target website and wasn’t able to find it. Thanks!!
Yes, please. I came to the comments to find out where you got the comforter and shams. We all want to know. 💚
I think covering that back paneling makes a huge difference. That was too many wood tones and patterns for such a small space.
Agreed!!! 💜
Agree the white brightened things up and also the pillow grain of lines matched the direction of the pattern in the wall paper you put on so even different textures it still worked
Yes! Agreed
I think so too. It's so much brighter now! Well done, Dawn! 😁👌🏼
That wallpaper above the bed gives me a headache - I would have to cover it up with white or cream.
I was thinking Dawn could use any extra white backing she used on the wall. ☺️
Love the changes to the camper. Not huge, but definitely makes a difference. You and Tom are such a great team.
The wall paper behind the head of the bed looks good. I would suggest getting a mattress cover. it will protect the mattress and keep it looking new.
A mattress cover and a mattress pad
Looks great! One recommendation: protective mattress cover is always a very good idea. Looks like you'll have a comfy trip on your new mattress!
Ahhhh...I was looking to see if someone had the same idea as me. LOL Great minds think alike! Yes! I agree! Mattress cover IS a good idea! I LOVE the changes!
Love the bed linen but I would have put a mattress protector on under the sheet. Just an idea 💡 x
Definitely. Saves your mattress from embedded dead skin and body oil. Bleh!
It looks great! Little touches definitely transformed the room. I like the bedding colors, velcro for the curtains, and nightstand trays idea.
Love that you got to repurpose the velcro strap that came with the sheets! Fun!
That wallpaper really does make that space look bigger. Actually the curtain does as well, it doesn't look as heavy as the wood does. I really love your sheets and blanket, beautiful colors. Huge success!
I told my husband while we were camping last weekend - when you’re at home, there’s always a running list at the back of your head of what you should be working on, so even when you try to relax those things are always haunting you. idea for Tom's feet hanging off: a padded/upholstered piece of wood attached with hinges that can fold up into use and down and away for walking around.
Ooooor… he curls up and spoons with Dawn to keep his feet on the bed 😂
At first I didn’t want you to cover the darker “wood”. However, after you did, I really like it as it does lighten up the area. Like the curtain at the door way. That’s what we did in our camper. The sliding doors would not close properly. Looks really nice.
I gasped at the Velcro tie back… my little “bee” self was so enjoying that! 🤣 And it’s practical and cute! AAAANNND I just love you guys!
I like the new bedding and the white wall does make it look more roomy.
Suggestion: If the bubbles in the wall paper bother you, you can poke them with a pin and smooth the air out, may help a bet.
Your bedroom makeover looks great! It is also great to have Tom back on Friday’s !! Enjoy your trip !
Looks fab, what about using sticky paper on tray base to tie wall in x
I was thinking that too!! Use the scraps.
Also my thought!
My thoughts also.
I love that you said, “Let’s just load up and go.” Made me happy that a long weekend is coming up.
Getting my balcony painted while I watch you guys do projects! Keeping me motivated!
I really like the minimal changes you've made, it makes a huge impact. I have taken a couple of doors off, even in my house, and replaced with a heavy weight curtain... and I love it that way. You putting a sheet directly on your mattresses blows my mind. A mattress pad is a must.
We just purchased our first camper and we are so excited to do some cosmetic upgrades! My husband actually brought up painting the camper first! (Granted it is a super old 90s pop up so it needs some upgrading)
Big improvement. Love the green. Beautiful color. Well done.
I just love your adventurous nature and creativity. You guys are a great team

I spray painted my metal rods black last summer and loved it. I like your style with the bedspread and sheets and the tie back is so something I would have done too!!!!
I love just about any shade of green and that one particularly calls me! You really know how to make small changes that have a great effect.
I own and love those sheets, too! Someone recommended Target sheets for their extra depth because I was complaining about my fitted sheets always migrating up and off my mattress. Just the back wall being lightened made the difference now its restful and pretty good job
Looks great! Personal, homey touches. Enjoy your vacay! All the hard everyday work makes vacation time all the sweeter!
We spent the weekend working on projects since we hit the road next weekend. Starting our 3rd month as full time RVers around Florida!
The green and white look fresh and clean. The trays will be useful. Enjoy!
What a difference the lighter coloured wallpaper looks! Looks much more inviting.
It looks great. I especially love the bedding.
Looking forward to gardening. Thanks for another great video.
Love it Dawn. The camper bedroom is simple but beautiful. Not fussy... Just fabulous 🤩
Enjoy your camper we did camping years ago then got out of it because we needed to take care of parents. We are now back into having a camping and we do it to get away from our responsibilities at home. You are so right about what you do have to manage. I like that wallpaper much better than the previous one.
Looks great, such a small change can make a big difference!

Those small changes make all the difference to making the room lighter and brighter as well as making like home. Nicely done!
This looks so nice. In Kansas we went from winter to summer too. It’s hot and beautiful. We are thankful for each day. Hubby spent 11 months Ill from a botched surgery. He is just back on his feet and so happy to feel like getting out. 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙
The white looks like it is supposed to be there. It looks great!
We just sold our RV today, but I still enjoyed watching your video. I’m going to miss RV’ing.
I love the simple transformation of the camper bedroom. The wall paper really does make a huge difference.
I’ve even been sharing the knowledge I’ve learned with my trailer neighbours. Thanks, Julie-Muskoka Lakes, Ontario, Canada
Beautiful! The curtain seems like a great idea, hope that works out!
💗💗💗those sheets and comforter!!! Simple transformations but make it even more lovely. Genius idea for the tie-backs 👏🏻
That peel and stick wallpaper really brightens up the space!
Camping near Yellowstone starting tomorrow!! I wish we could get by with only a sheet and comforter, but it gets way too cold at night where we camp. I love camping for all the reasons you mentioned Tom. I could live in my camper as a family of five in a heartbeat!
The small changes made a big difference!!! It is definitely showing your personality!
I think the curtains are a wonderful solution. Watching y’all always puts a smile on my face. Blessings from Texas.
You work so hard…..enjoy the summer in your camper 🤗🤗🤗🤗
We had the doors like you had and they were always banging around I wish we had thought of the curtain idea👍❤️
I’m mostly doing jobs in the garden, I’ve been pressure washing the garden furniture and doing some weeding.
I really appreciate how you two model compromise. And Dawn, I liked your shirt!-a good reminder of who we are in Christ.💕🙏🏻
Glad you just did the peel and stick paper.
What a difference just that stick on light wallpaper makes! Taking out the sliding doors and replacing with a curtain also looks so much airier. The bedding is lovely also!😁

Dawns ideas make sence if your going to spend anytime anywhere you should like your space. Youcan always change your mind. 👍
Love what you did to camper it looks really nice x
I like the white headboard. Definately against painting cabinets. Looks really nice! Have a fun trip!!
