Holy Cow! Now there's an amp that sounds crystal clear but still has some "oomph"!
This amp would be just what a one-man act could appreciate and use.

The Genius of Mesa, what a Sweet Tone, Articulate and nicely rounded note definition. This will be another Classic Mesa Amplifier!
I am Proud to own the Mesa Mini 25 Rec and a Mesa 4 X 12 V30 Cab, The sweetest and Nastiest Amp I have ever owned, I cannot speak highly enough of the High Quality and meticulous attention to detail. The same goes for Mesa's Pedals 👍👍👍.

I don’t understand the hate. For example I can’t think of a feature that is not included in an amp like the mark V:25, but makes people mental when missing from amps that cost almost as much. A tweed amp is a circuit, and fender wants a grand for their most faithful champ, 2000 for a 12 watt deluxe, and 3k for the 57 twin. That twin has great sound sure. But it has zero flexibility, no speaker outs, no effects loop, only a combo, and has no power level choices. Why do you hate flexibility in this, but celebrate spending 3 grand on an amp with zero features? Here you can also do a 2x12. You can’t do it with a 2k deluxe. So if you think it’s stupid because it’s not worth spending the money on a tweed circuit in a box that helps also with your other gear or with the sound guy at your gig, and you think it sucks cause they didn’t choose to dime the amp so you think you know what it truly sounds like, instead of playing one, then you pretty much should be happy with your blues jr. Don’t save until you can get one, just dime your ac4 in the guest bedroom and dial in the magic tones you get with that. I look forward to giving it a try myself.

I first used this amp on a session with Los Lobos guitarist David Hidalgo. He played a G&L and a Firebird through it, no pedals, and got so many insane tones from it that I ended up keeping the amp. This is a GREAT old-school flavored entry from Mesa; easy to carry and loud enough for gigs, quiet enough for home. Sounds fantastic at edge of breakup of course, but also amazing at full gain for those early Santana/Bluesbreakers tones. Absolutely overjoyed about the Tweed.

I remember exactly when your first amps came out. The shop I hung out in received one. You change the world as far as amp design goes. Your amps did everything from day one. I remember it well. Because I couldn't afford it. LOL but we never complained they were worth every penny. So all the complainers save your money and buy a real amp. You could sell the first amp you put out there and it would still be better than the stuff on the market today.

I played this amp through both strat, and les Paul with p90’s…. Let me tell you that no matter what the settings where at, it always sounded good and that’s the difference between a good amp and a great amp, the great amp you plug straight in and it just sounds good snd as I played it sounded inspiring and that’s what a great amp is all about

The Jensen Blackbird speaker is amazing. I recently stuck one in my Mark IIb that I purchased new from you guys way back in the day, and man that totally changed the character of that amp, it's amazing! As always with the Mark IIb, a lot of care and patience (and research) is the ticket to dial in the sweet spot for both channels, but was definitely made easier with the Jensen. EV that came with it wasn't even close!

Sounds incredible (listening through ARCAM D/A converter, ARCAM FMJ and PMC speakers). I've had 4 Boogie amps, using LS Classic now, all brilliant sounding. Nick Guppy gave this a 10/10 Gold review in Guitarist magazine and he knows what he's talking about. I don't understand the negative comments, I also own H&K and Fender amps and have had Vox, Peavey, Selmer and Marshall over the years, all have their own merits.

I love it that the main dude uses zero reverb so you can actually tell that the amp is awesome with no fake effects.just that beautiful bouncy fender plus quality mesa boogie tube amp sound.no fakery.the second guy plays amazingly too,and I guess his job is to show how well the amp sounds with such effects like reverb/chorus/delay.beautiful amp.i have a mesa son of boogie.apparently the same circuitry as a mark 1.sounds beautiful.if I had more money I would get a Mexican strat or tele.but my Ibanez roadstar sounds warm and awesome, just different than the springy bouncy strat sound.I will get a second electric guitar someday with that sound I hope!

@@mesaboogie oh I am a kind person, but you don't need to be overly kind to love a boogie.the demo says it all.A musical fetish of mine is to get my friends or aquaintances to play my rig.I get desensitised to my own way of playing or EQ settings,so its cool to see good(or even not very good) players play through my mesa. They make average players break out into new territory,or old covers or chord progressions take on new life.thats why I got such a musical boner over the demo.very well put together demo too.no effects guitar player, then an effects guitar player. The reason why I bought my boogie was because when I plugged my crybaby through it,it sounded like the funk albums I was trying to emulate,or jimis burning of the midnight lamp.My previous transistor amp did not do my crybaby justice.i really got it just for that reason. But I now understand that they are the best for so many other reasons

That would be a funny possibility, let alone Joe Bonamassa trying them out.
As a Bay Area native, trained by a guitar teacher who personally knows Doug West and the Mesa boogie team , (along with previously owning a mark 2B and a mark three with a 2x12 cabinet and an 80s digital stereo rack rig from what I remember), and particularly reading in books let alone the videos; mesa boogie started out with Randall Smith repairing audio equipment that soon lead to contemporary fender amplifiers. The first two famous examples were jokingly fitting a fender Princeton amp with a fender baseman circuit and a 12 inch JBL speaker for the guitarist of country Joe and the Fish. The next major seal of approval comment was from Carlos Santana after trying out the early mark 1 amps, where he famously stated, “That amp really boogies!”
When Randall Smith finally branded the name of his business, the legend goes that his original address was on Mesa Avenue in Mill valley or the rural town of Lagunitas in Marin County where I grew up. Since the 80s from what I remember, they have stayed at that same Petaluma factory as they proudly cherish.
Every mesa boogie fan or curious Music fans should watch the three-part documentary series on the UA-cam channel of Mesa boogie‘s history.
Part one: the beginnings with Santana as explained.
Part two: the 1980s with the Mark 2C+ and Metallica.
Part three: the dual rectifiers in the modern era.

It was bad out of the box with a constantly glassy harmonic sound out of the head (techs determined it wasn't the tubes). Got a warranty replacement which had the exact same issue right out of the box. Very sad! Things are all better now as my third replacement was a Morgan PR12. @@DakTirCue I have played the Fillmore 50 combo and head and also the Fillmore 25 combo. I have a mark v 90 combo. I would get the Fillmore 50 in head version it sounded best through a Mesa 2x12 with v30s than the combos. I cant recommend the 25 combo it sounded small and body and a guy was playing a lonestar special next room over and that sounded better gain than the Fillmore 25.
If u want tight compressed tones the mark series is the way to go it's great for crunch and high gain but to me its sterile for cleans. I'm thinking of selling the mark v to get a Fillmore 50 because the cleans are so. much more dynamic and vintage fat plus I love the open, saggy sound of gain with a strat. The mark v cleans are sterile and anemic, especially with single coils.

@@soofitnsexy check the new Fender Princeton it sounds better than this I think its 1999 and ptp wiring if that's your thing.
I have played Fillmore 50 and 25 combos and the 50 head. The head is the way to go the combos are too body small sound. I think it's better than this tweed but different.

Low input full power sounds huge even at low volumes. Boogie amps are in a league of their own.

Thanks, Bibish! Appreciate the kind words. The Overdrive pedal is the Mesa Gridslammer and the delay is the Jim Dunlop Carbon Copy

Jensens have a certain reedyness in tweeds that I also hear here

It just sounds so compressed in all settings like it’s stuck under the duvet. It feels stifled, muffled. Would a speaker change be possible to open the sound up? Love everything else about it.

i don't know why anyone even bothers with other brands of amps.one thing i do know though is that they are very complex.the guitologist seems to have difficulty in repairing these amps.I have had a couple of issues with mine but not for a while.luckily it always blows a fuse before it blows the amp up,and i always have spares.happens at high volume.i actually need a bigger amp or another amp to run with it in stereo.I have Chinese tubes in it at the moment, they have lasted for a long long time.it came with fender tubes.they didn't last long....i think the second tubes i got were russian

Why oh why can I not find a demo of someone putting the amp on 40w and diming the master? You simply cannot make a judgement on whether it nails the tweed sound without doing this.
I do like what I am hearing, but I need to hear how it holds together and what the power amp sounds like when overdriven.

where is the searing Tweed grind !??! This is cool and all but my old pro tube series pro reverb has all the power scaling switches and two channels with Tremolo and verb all switchable with the 4 button switch plus the ptpr had the overdrive CHANNEL that sounds just like a Bassman Tweed on 12 ! yeah the pro tube pro reverb is kinda heavy and bulky with its oversized cabinet but that's part of the Tweed sound but this Mesa JUST doesn't feel like Tweed or sounds like Tweed, out sound like a 40 watt Princeton reverb with a 12 inch speaker to me.
I am not trying to diss Mesa at all, actually on trying to justify buying a Mesa boogie but with the AMPS that I have i doing see the Mesa coming home with me any time soon. Good luck at Namm and I hope you secure many orders for your new endeavor into Tweed territory 😉

Hi Auntie J - the sounds are in there, just not captured for this particular demo at the moment. Fair point, probably shoulda... Classic sound that will be added to the list of things to do. BUT - as mentioned, the circuit is there, as are the sounds, just a matter of cranking it up and choosing the wattage and there's gold to be had. Particularly juicy and grinding at 2 watts or 10 watts. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! :)
