If you put them in a pot straightaway, you'll reduce strain on a small plant. You can / could also cover a pot with the plastic. I use a large 8ltr water bottle which I cut in 1/3 from height, make holes in the bottle, fill up with 1/2 weed soil (which is light and airy), water, insert the seed(s) and cover then with a plastic as you did. Works great. Make sure to reduce the plastic at times or ventilate or even make holes, to avoid mold.
Soak in a glass of water like tomato seeds, over a few days rinse and scrub them in a strainer, back into the glass for another day or so repeat, then dry out and save ! Simple
There's one catch to growing from the seeds of a supermarket-purchased passion fruit. If the farm that originally produced them was using hybrid plants (which is increasingly the case in order to reduce the risk of diseases and improve flavour) then the fruit you produce could be a big disappointment because the plant will not have bred 'true'.
Beautiful, thank you for sharing, although this purple-skinned variety of passion fruit I didn't know existed, here in Mexico we have an orange-skinned variety, will be trying this with these here. :)
There's actually hundreds of different kinds of Passiflora species! Try to find all you can to taste all their different unique flavours, and maybe even grow your own!
Thanks for the video. I’ve been trying to grow passion fruit from seeds for the last 2 years and I’ve been using seeds from seed companies, they never sprout, so after 4 months I give up on them. This last time I used store bought fruit and out of 50 or so seeds only got 3 to germinate after 75 days. The 3 that germinated seem healthy but they are not short like yours. Mine are almost 7”-8” tall now and are just getting their first true leaves. I’m thinking about putting a small bamboo stake in the pot to support them, they seem like they will snap if they fall over. Any suggestions as to why they are so leggy. They get plenty of water and sun. I’m in zone 10a Naples, FL. TIA
Hello Thank you for your video. I noticed mine having some getting insect bites. I don't know what is attacking the fruits. Last year they were fine this year some have been bitten. Not by rats for sure
The plant enjoys bright light, and loves water. Be sure it has well drained soil. A fertilizer rich in nitrogen is good for growth but do not feed the plant when it flowers. (Fertilizing during flowering is said to make the plant lose it's fruit)
when you grow from the seed how much of the sac on the outside of the seed are you supposed to wipe off. like to you completely take it off? or you leave the thin membrane that’s on the seed after.
honestly, I mixed the unprepared seeds with a top layer of compost and it workes out quite well for the big yellow species. the smaller purple ones seem to be a bit picky however...
Yes, but keep it humid as the video shows. Covering it with a plastic is good idea. Saying that, I have planted my directly in a pot without covering and a few sprouted. I now have 3 or 4 which are way over 1 meter in height, after 8 months.
Same here my friend . Same here . I planted some nectacots . Very rewarding indeed . This is a challenge for me in the UK but it's worth it . My friend
saya menanam markisa dari biji buah yg saya saring, jadi yg saya minum hanya sarinya biji buah tdk perlu dibersihkan langsung ditaruh di media tanam, tunggu kira kira 2 minggu, tunasnya muncul dan krn biji satu buah markisa itu puluhan jadilah sekarang bingung mau dikasih siapa lagi, krn tanaman induknya sdh berubah dan buanyak
Thanks for your feedback! I understand this music doesn't suit everyone. Of course, no music suits everyone! I am planning on creating videos outside in good locations with only relaxing nature sounds, to see if I get a positive reaction from my viewers.

So true ,all that waiting gone to waste
I did it myself and it just worked all the seeds came out and the plants are now growing without any problems
Here in Florida, the Maypop Passion flower has delicious fruit, and it is purely wild! So I guess it depends on the variety you grow.
Are you planning on making an update video?

Hello

Try spraying them with a dilution of Dr. Bronners peppermint soap. It won't penetrate the skin and rinses off.
Can I harvest in the first year ore how long does it need
Thank u 4 the video. Is there a specific month or season for planting the seeds?
I’d say spring but I have no clue so yeah.
After the last frost in your country, check the soil temperature at night before planting to make sure it’s the right temperature for these plants.
Many thanks bro 👍 really I try this method and it's successful but please tell me about the fertilizers and caring about the passion fruit plant

A good fertilizer for passionflower would be citrus tree fertilizer. I use it and see good results.
How long it's need to grow and bear fruits??
Nice beat to do my morning exercise on!
Do we need to water all time ?
IT will grow from any fruit found în supermarket?
Very good , you don’t need to talk ,but it well done. Thank you .
How long we need to keep wrapped under plastic.. ?
Thank u 4 this vedio .which? month/season is suiable for planting the seeds of this fruit ? I am looking forward to your response.sooner.
Best is to grow passion fruit in spring

Doesn’t matter. I like to use a bakers yeast culture and let my seeds soak for 24 hours in it before planting. That gives me close to 100% germination
where i can this purple passion fruit
I put it in sun or in window after I transplant it in new pot....thank you
Yes, but keep it humid as the video shows. Covering it with a plastic is good idea. Saying that, I have planted my directly in a pot without covering and a few sprouted. I now have 3 or 4 which are way over 1 meter in height, after 8 months.
I will have my own fruits soon

If you want top improve flavor before long before yield you must put coarse Salt by the roots with plenty of water

how long to cover plastic ?
How long the seeds remain or viable n potent for storage purpose once harvested? Plz reply... Thanks.
You're better off just using the seeds from fresh . Or they take longer when dried out too long .
