@@ram.4152 Thankyou for the reply... I'm envious😁although the UK certainly has the rain, it's the other two that we lack. Looks like I'll be needing the greenhouse then. Thanks again.

I love trying to grow all kinds of things. This year I'm trying passion fruit. I did a UA-cam search and was elated to see you, my favorite gardener, has a video on the matter. I hope you've been well.
its really good taking rubbish and using it.. some effects are wanted some are not. like mold that grows on it or chemicals that were in the container.. i use the plastic party cups , or plates.. good luck with growing
Lol on your comment, "why grow passion fruit if you're not going to eat them" the flowers are one of the most unique and beautiful in my opinion. I found a stray plant growing in a parking lot in Seattle Washington with beautiful flowers so I collected the seeds. I then learned they were passion fruit! Your channel is extremely useful, thanks!
You asked "Why would you grow Passion Fruit if you don't like eating them?" Well...I just love the flowers and have had the white and purple Caerulea for years and had a purple one which eventually gave up flowering for me and now I thought I'd try the Colombia one you've shown how to plant up, Edulis. Thanks for your totally uncomplicated guide. Looks simple enough so I've had a go but my fruit wasn't as elderly and wrinkled as yours so if I'm unlucky I'll know what to do next time. Great video, thanks a lot, Steve, Manchester UK.
Wow! I have just planted my passion fruit seeds and guess what happened! Well because it has been ten minutes nothing, Yet. I can't wait 'till they sprout! The texture of the seed is amazing! Keep up the amazing work! ;)

I think like many others your videos have been inspiring and actually encouraged me to start growing my own produce. Also I have just planted some passion fruit and wondered if there was a follow up to this video? Cheers David
I'm so happy to see my passion fruit seeds finally germinate today! 😬😍 1st time I put them in a small container with wet tissue inside the bottom and had covered it but it grew fungus n those seeds died eventually. This time I placed the seeds in a transparent container with tiny wet gravel inside. I spread out the seeds inside and covered it and put it at kitchen cabinet. Some days I also exposed the covered container under the sun for around 2-3 hrs. And finally! I see them sprout today! I'm so happy 😬😊
OmG i remember growing up in South America, our neighbor had tall trees of guava fruit and I guess passion fruit vines which grew and used to bloom with beautiful flowers and me waiting for the passion fruit to ripen so I could go to the rooftop with a stick which had a bail on it to catch the vine and twist toward me and grab the fruit so I could eat it’s delicious pulp or make juice with lots of ice😻😻😻The old lady will see me and throw rocks at me lol! Of course my mom didn’t know 😸Years later I went back and thought to my self: HOW DId I DO THAT? I thought I could fly. Then I went to the market and bought a few😹😹😹😹
Still in the process of growing the seedlings. I have one small plant that grew from the ground and one from the plastic cup.😊 The one on the ground just grew, I think it fell. but mine grows a bit slower than yours.
Thanks for the video mate! I bought mine from Sri Lanka and it's the yellow passion fruit. There's only one left since I made juices out of them. Guess I don't wanna waste the last one. I'll wait for it to dry up to get the seed then I'm gonna start to plant right away. Thanks for the guidance. Cheers!!
Thanks for the helpful video buddy, I will try this method to grow my own Passion fruit, its the only sensible thing to do, passion fruit here in Mexico is expensive, thumbs up, liked and checking the update video, this beginner vid was uploaded in August 2016 so I'm getting a hunch you've made an update. Greetings from Mexico, hoping to find your grandpa and you well. :)
Thanks for the video. I have two Florida grown Passion fruit that I am planning on trying to harvest seeds and plant. I managed to harvest Jackfriut seeds and I have a nice sapling growing. I enjoy trying to grow fruit trees from seeds harvested from whole fruit. Unfortunately, in the US most fruit from outside the country is irradiated, and the seeds are dead. So I have to find domestic fruit to experiment with.
I just found your channel! It's so helpful, inspiring and well-made! Thanks for all the tips! This is my all time favorite fruit and has been since I was seven years old! Please do a follow up! (:
Hi buddy, I bought a soil blocker, they're amazing and they stop roots from getting bound, get one try it out you'll be impressed, thanks for the video.
Nice video. Passifloras are relatively easy to grow and really prolific!! Probably my favorite fruit for pie (passion fruit cheesecake). I have at home a Passiflora edulis that probably is semi-wild. Fruits a smaller but also delicious. Congratulations for your channel!!
Answer: Passion vine is an important food source for larval butterflies. It’s important to grow to help pollinators survive. Question: Why would you grow Passion fruit if you don’t like to eat them.
sand Johnson Imagine a world where the oceans are chock full of plastic waste and we decide it’s ok to continue using and wasting more plastic... but wait! There’s more! Let’s wrap things in plastic that absolutely don’t need to be wrapped such as small fruit like passionfruit and lemons! Next up, let’s wrap grapes! Yes, that’s it. Now it’s happy. No sadness there when it makes its way to the landfill forever or the ocean where it will likely end up in the intestines of a sea turtle or other animal. No sadness at all.
I planted some seeds about a year ago and they’re still not as big as yours grew at 6 weeks! Is it totally necessary that each sprout is in its own little pot?? I have a few (4 or 5) sharing a medium sized pot. Will this effect the growth at all?
Love the recycling and repressing! Where do you grow seedlings? I have mine in coldframe in indirect diffused light, and are sad looking skinny plants and slow to grow past first leaves. I dont have bigger leaves or robust plants and little yellow unlike yours after a month. Do they need more sun or heat at this stage or fertilizer?? We are in fall now with temps in 55 low to 80 highs. Thanks.
Hi, I really enjoy your videos. I have a question... I was able to plant some passion fruit seeds and they sprouted... I am super happy but I really don't want to mess them up... What do I do next? Thank you for any input :)
Exactly what I was going to ask. I see the video was uploaded in August. I have just started to try and germinate some seed, but intend using a grow light to bring the plants on. (I will grow more varieties of exotics) I am just trying to get the plants to a point where they are strong enough to go out during our short summer. I am interested in how the plants grow/ cope with the shortening days - and whether they are brought in from the frost.

There are many reasons you would grow a plant that you wouldn't want to eat did you know people grow houseplants that they can't eat LOL but seriously the passion fruit Vine has a absolutely beautiful alien-like flower that a lot of people enjoy. For instance there is a species of bush bean that I grow every year because for 1 I like the way it looks it has beautiful tiny flowers that I enjoy and the beans are beautiful vibrant purple with some striping of dark green and yellow the plant in itself really compliments my garden and I like the way it looks beans also add nitrogen to the soil even more so when they're allowed to decompose naturally and break down in the soil this is why I grow them every year however I rarely eat them
note to self: start planting EVERYTHING!!! Thank you for inspiring me!
Im very curious how the plants developed, and if they are still alive 4 years later👍
