I'm not an "old timer" so no comments other than agreeing with all the comments that have been made. I watched over and over just the 1st 3 minutes and, well...😮😮!! a work of art, in motion; I didn't know what you were attempting to do and then, omg, rolled that baby right up there. Love the bond and connection you have with your horses, amazing. They are there! for you, every step of the way...they have your back, as the saying goes.❤(and you their's)
First time I've ever seen horses working like this. I loved the video - you and the horses are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this. I hope you'll take some more - its a whole new exciting world for me - from my armchair. Thanks again ❤❤❤
Coming from a line of loggers in my family, I just want to say Thank you so much for your hard work and sharing it. My heart beams with pride thinking of how my German grandparents came here at turn of century and settled in Port Angeles and Bellingham Wa to start logging after being wheat farmers in N Dakota first. Only wish I could’ve shared this with my mother before she passed a cpl years ago at 91. God bless you and watch over you everyday working out there with your boys. Mom was always scared of horses bc she was 3 when she was somehow left in the field while bringing the drafthorses ( they had a bunch of them) down from another field back in N Dakota. I bought my horse at 30 and she helped me put up 50 posts on Mothers Day once and fell out of fear and in love with my beautiful Appaloosa. Thanks again, I’m turning 60 this week and had to sell my horse due to illness long time now. Boy could he run. They didn’t name him Totally Awesome fer nuthin! Never got to learn to barrel race him like I’d dreamed , but I know he went to a good home bc he was such an easy keeper and the folks had a big farm where I didn’t have much land for him.
@ Your videos being back so many happy memories of walking through the stalls at the county fair and standing in awe of all the beautiful big draft horses when I was a kid. Every summer all the cousins, aunts , uncles, everyone, would bring campers to the grounds and all us cousins would get to run wild. Some of the cousins had cows and even raced their horses at the fair. Getting all excited watching the buck board races with big teams. I used to love the smell of the barns and still do. Here I got a true sense of what my grampa and all the family did out in those woods (w enormous trees!) for work to make lives for all of us who came after. Really means a lot to me and many others here. Thanks again and God’s blessings from Bellingham, Washington. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you and the boys here (:
Love seeing horses enjoying their work. Those boys were bred for strength and for pulling, and you can tell they enjoy it. They work not just with their bodies, but their minds too, with their owner giving commands. It's great to see them healthy and happy. Fantastic teamwork.
Before I even watched the video to the end, I knew it was a rhetorical question, for two reasons: First, you are a conscientious teamster and wouldn't put a load behind them that was beyond their capacity, second, your horses are among the best, willingness and strength considered and just pull anything you ask them to; horses have their own minds, but their confidence is influenced and fostered by what their owners expose them to.
That was beyond amazing! The strength in those horses especially when they have to do the first strong pull to get the log to even move. It must feel really satisfying riding up on top of those logs😀
❤🎉 Very interesting lesson in physics, the babies are so good and reliable it's like their temperament isn't really a factor -- well, due to your training and treatment of them. It's so fascinating, sorta like a symphony you might say.. Thank you and please don't worry about a video being too long, I feel like I could watch for hours !! 😊🐎🐎❤️😁🙏🇺🇲🌳
After watching a couple of these videos tonight. I’m gonna have to add your name to my prayer closet wall. That’s a fairly dangerous hustle you got going! But it’s way cool and life-giving in its own way I suspect.
I wondered how you got all those logs stacked up like that. I seen another video where you were riding on top of a big stack. Bro I ain’t never seen anything like this in my life. I’m kind of blown away if I’m being honest. Way freaking cool mate💪🫡❤️👍
Good video brother! Enjoyed it. The game changes when ya get in that big stuff no doubt. Them little ole biddy tricks on that wagon, especially hubbing..is key. Take care man!
They do stretch over time. The log wagon is a crazy design. It is amazing to me too that it can be as light as it is and still hold up to the pounding it deals with without breaking down. That is a Carpenter wagon built back in the 50s and it's still doing its thing today.
Incredible. Power with precision. Just Wow.
Thank you
Just amazing teamwork...Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome

Do your chains get stretched on the heavy logs? I'm amazed the cart holds up

@@downthetraillogging Yup, those little wagons sure do take a pounding. Your wagon more than others🤣
My dad logged for a while with draft horses but i never got to watch. What kind of draft horses are yours? They are beautiful.
Mutts Thank you
