I still remember when they did a on location shoot for Diana's murder. Heather and the nurses cape. That took only 6months to resolve. Bert was not to quick on the uptake since he was dating the killer at the time. Heather's mom. 😀😀
I hate to say it,but they could cancel today's GH,and rerun these episodes everyday,starting in 1978.. they'd probably generate higher ratings than "The Sonny and Carly Show"
This show was on fire back in the day, I mean literally a "can't miss episode" like this one right here. The storylines, the acting, the dialogue, the plots were just outstanding. From the scheming Heather Webber, to the Rick & Monica Love Affair, watching Alan go into Maddness, to the Luke, Laura, Bobbie, Roy, Scotty, Jennifer, Frank Smith & the Mob, I mean this show kicked ass! It was just phenomenal.

So true, great comment. I remember when I was a kid days of our lives became a great soap and my aunt and I never missed it after school... I can remember when no had to save hope from Stefano.
I started watching gh with my step-mom in the late 90s when Sonny and Jason and Carly was a thing and the storyline were still great.
Luke and Laura are the best couple soaps ever introduced in my opinion and there have been some great couples through the years on all the soaps but this couple was gold and no other have touched them.
In my senior year of high school I elected to take one less class in order to get home in time to watch GH on an old black and white. The Luke & Laura saga was bomb!
Just happened to come across this clip. Thanks, it brought b ack a lot of good memories. I wish I could watch the entire show in the order it came on back then.

And the best part is, it’s been so long since I saw some of these, but would almost be like they were brand new to me. I think it would be fantastic if somewhere they would just run the whole series starting from 1963. And have it available on demand. That would be really something to watch.

@@tracymartin2644 yes it would. It’s one of those things that really takes me back. I was 13 in 1979. And I had been watching general hospital with my mom. I guess every summer when I was out of school. But the Luke and Laura storyline got me along with most of the country, I was the right age. And oh do I miss my mom. She passed away in 2018.
@Always Learning I'm sorry about your mom. I completely relate to your story. I was obsessed with the Luke and Laura storyline. I'd rush home from school or stay in on nice summer days. It allowed me to escape what was happening in my home. I really hope someone picks up the old episodes.
I’ve never appreciated technology as much as I do now being able to see these again. Takes you back, for a moment it even wash’s away todays troubles.
I just found these and am enjoying being back in 79 with L&L ...anything to get some peace from our crazy current times😳
Anthony Geary didn’t have to try hard. He was consistently the best actor on this show.

This show, during the Luke and Laura craze, was beyond a big hit: It was a phenomenon. I remember sitting in front of the TV from 3-4, Monday-Friday, glued to the set. Ahh, the good old days when there was good stuff on TV.

I remember the very first episode of GH I ever watched. Laura was with Scotty and had just purchased a set of law books for him. I couldn’t tell you what I ate yesterday, but I sure remember a lot about GH during those amazing years of Luke and Laura!

I have nothing but a smile imprinted on me, watching GH on a Saturday is awesome . I always hoped they would put it on DVD (the whole from very beginning lol) that would be alot of DVDs , but I wouldn't care . That was my teen years and early 20s, I'm 58 now and Luke still makes me wish I knew him. Plus all the others that came into the soap. I remembered Monica when she was in( Love is a many splendor thing ), Frank Smith from punky Brewster etc. He did a good job playing a mobster. What I'm saying is thanks genie for the memories. Tell your husband (aka #1) that I love star trek. Now that's a hunk 😁😁😁😁😁
Back in the 90s, ABC put L&Ls story on VHS. I have them. I've wondered if I could transfer them onto dad's since that format isn't available & the tapes aren't either.

I was hooked on this show in junior high and pretty soon got my brother and his friends hooked on it, but it was mostly because they were horndogs for Genie Francis.
A name caught my eye in the credits, Tom Markle in the Lighting Directors category. Meghan Markle’s dad, I knew he did lighting work in the industry, but not in General Hospital. Just an observation!

It seems so crazy to see a man slap a woman because she is being hysterical . I watched this show back in the day and it seemed like the "normal' thing to do.I remember a scene on Little House where Pa slapped Laura when she was hysterical.I have never been slaped or seen anyone else slapped for being hysterical I wonder where Hollywood come up with the idea.

Bobbie was always selfish, always a liar, jealous of Laura, and blaming others for problems she caused herself. Every relationship she had she sabotaged, she was elm street 100% she liked it, and no true class. Luke wanted better, he saw the goodness and true decency Laura had, his love wasn't selfish. He agonized over hurting her, and dozens of times risked his life to save her. Laura saw that, it's why she was able to forgive him. He had redeeming qualities, Bobbie never did.

And then ironically, years later, Bobbie ended up marrying Stefan Cassadine , when it came out about Nikolas .

Poor Laura she was suffering so much back then after the rape, with all those conflicted feelings. She knew she was in love with two men on top of everything else
She was very much in denial. She was very human she wanted to do what was right but was fighting herself and her feelings. I think with Scott it was puppy love. With Luke he was her twin flame.

Not particularly, as I remember. But he was tall and could be very funny and charming, and he had a moody/tortured/needy side that girls like Laura (and a lot of the fans) just wanted to fix and soothe and mother. Bleccch, but Laura had some creepy inner desire to be his savior . . . at age 17, no less. (－‸ლ)
