Having spent both business and personal time in Japan and Korea (admittedly much more time in Korea), I do like and enjoy both countries. However, consistent with many UA-cam channels I watch, my preference is to Korea. A more advanced, friendly and open society. Especially true among the younger generations born after the 1970s. An amazing country that is extremely modern but also has preserved its historical heritage. From near total destruction to modern influencer and all coming from an agricultural country prior to 1952 - it is just amazing.
We've heard some people say it like this. Live in Korea, and travel to Japan. I think for us since our experience has been the opposite, it feels a bit hard to know which we would like the most if it were the other way around. Interesting to hear your perspective!
@OurStorytoTell Just be aware that JAPAN'S civilization began by people from Korean peninsula in ancient times. For example the oldest architecture company in japan that built many temples in Kyoto and Nara areas was founded by engineers from Bekje dynasty which is one of three kingdoms in Korean peninsula. The westerners easily think that Japan is cultural center of East Asia, which is totally misconception due to their ignorance on history. Mochi is 'ttok ' we taught them how to make. Just because Japan was known to the west earlier, they do know mochi but not ttok. But it would be nicer to remember original one. Have a good trip with your pretty and cute kids!
I would totally agree. For me and my family Korea is over the top but I think everyone is different in preference. Korea is more lively, people are amazing, food you can't ask better, and more open-minded than Japanese. This is how many people see Koreans and Japanese. Koreans are more direct and Japanese are more reserved inside to themselves. You will know Koreans if they like you or not but the Japanese rather keep it inside to themselves and don't want to show even you are liked or not. Personally, I would rather want direct.
@@WingManDKIn Japanese character is be polite front of you whether liked or not. Being very polite or respectful is part of defense mechanism not letting know how they feel inside. That's why Korean people say they have 2 faces, you don't what actual in their mind.
Hey gorgeous family, thank you for sharing your getaway to South Korea. The undercover food markets are amazing and all that yummy food you got to try. I feel full just watching you eat. I can’t believe all the different experiences you guys have and how chillled your daughters are with the food and travelling with such ease, they just lap it all up. So looking forward to your next adventure. Take care and be safe ❤
Thanks for the kind comment! We had a great time there and really love how much our girls are used to experiencing different foods and cultures. It's one of our dreams to have them grow up seeing life from different lenses. Stay tuned, we have some fun videos coming up :). Have a great weekend and start to your week!
Have to show our oldest son your video he might remember some of the foods ( he did his internship in south korea ) he was at the Deajeon for 5 months Back in 2015/ 2016 sure learned a lot . Great video that cable car was amazing the view wauw . 🤩 Have a Good week 🥰
Interesting and uplifting video as always. ♥ At the time I lived in Freiburg i. Brsg., I had South Korean neighbours. A very nice couple, both students of the Freiburg University. They owned a cat named "Nabi" and this is the reason why I know exactly one word in South Korean, lol, because Nabi translates to butterfly! Hehe. They often invited me for lunch or dinner or dropped in to show me how to prepare several Korean meals and I confess, I loved the Korean food. These two were among the best neighbours I ever had in my long life! I was surprised about the "love-locks-thing" at the bridge..... thought it was a European phenomenon but it seems to be international! Hey Willa, I love your earrings, those little bows are really cute! And you were sooo brave, you did a good job!
So fun to hear your memory of the couple and how you remember that Korean word because of their cat! We too were surprised by the love locks, since we also thought it was a European thing. Seems to be catching on other places as well. I'll be sure to let Willa know :). Thanks for the support and the kind comment!
oh my! that market can get absolutely crowd crushing crazy! I'm actually quite glad you went there when it wasn't so nuts with the little ones! Also, it's so interesting how different two countries can be that are so close to each other. The difference in what the conbini's offer can be quite striking!
We were happy we went when we did as well! It’s always a much more enjoyable experience when there are fewer people. It’s really true how surprising the differences are being so close to each other. Thanks for watching!

It was a great country to visit and we enjoyed our time. Definitely plan on spending time in both nature and the cities. We're happy we chose to see both!
glad you enjoy my country. just FYI, the reason why elevators in stations are so slow is that it's made for the disabled or the elderly so it's automatically (super) slow and also we cannot shut the door manually for the same reason :)
My third comment is how much free time Tanner gets off work! You all seem to be travelling somewhere, and then there's the cost, too, of all these excursions to neighbouring countries.
Japan chose left side to drive versus right side because when they started to modernize they looked to England as a model whereas Korea looked US as model.

What's cute is she makes some sort of Mt. Fuji comment every time we get in a plane or are at a higher elevation/lookout. It's adorable that she's still trying to understand distances :).
With so much street food available everywhere, one would hardly ever need to seek out a Westernised fast food outlet like KFC or McDonald's. And of all the food you tasted, that was probably only scratching the surface of all foods available. But after salivating over that fried chicken, the next thing I'm going to buy when I go shopping is Southern Fried Chicken to roast at home, since we don't have supermarkets where I live that do chicken from the rotisserie. I think I'll baste the chicken with oyster sauce, or maybe hoisin sauce.
People who were smoking which you saw during your arrival day might have been tourists from other countries. We smoke only in allowed areas in Korea, in general.
Yeah it might have been! We did notice later on during our time that we saw a lot of signs about not smoking in certain areas! I think we mentioned that later in the video too. :)
Oooh good question!! So hard to answer because living in one and traveling to another is so different! Both are amazing! We can say we loved to come back to Japan after.😊
The Japanese have always driven on the left side of the road, but all city streets are on the left. This is because Samurai with swords were always pointing their swords on the left side of the road!

25:11 that _adult-zoom_ after getting her ears pierced! 😂 A high five for Willa!
Right?! It made us think the same thing at first look.

I'm glad you guys had a fun Trip. Now if you excuse me, I need to go order myself some Korean Fried Chicken. ;)
Love it! What flavor are you ordering?
@@OurStorytoTell Probably a mix of Soy Garlic and OMG it Burns! :)
Thanks for the warm welcome! We had a great time. Thanks for watching!
welcome to Korea ❤😊
Thank you!! So happy to explore this beautiful country!! Stay tuned for the next two videos during our time here 🤍💗
2:03 Mt. Fuji? haha…Your little girls are sooo cute!
We noticed how aggressive they were around the cross walks!
Thanks for watching our video!! :)
Which one is best Korea or Japan after traveling both ❤
Oooh good question!! So hard to answer because living in one and traveling to another is so different! Both are amazing! We can say we loved to come back to Japan after.😊
@@OurStorytoTellI completely agreed with you😊
Ooohh such a great idea!! Thank you! 🫶😊
You made good memories in Korea. Come visit me often ^^
The Japanese have always driven on the left side of the road, but all city streets are on the left. This is because Samurai with swords were always pointing their swords on the left side of the road!
Welcome to Korea!! 🎉
Did you see UFO in this Video?
I think UFO shows up from 14:00
Thank you! We did!! 😊
Is Noa talking now? I thought I heard her say No! emphatically at one point.
I wish you tried kids zones there in Korea, watched other videos and they looked to be so fun!
Now that we’ve already visited, we’re getting a lot of recommendations of kid zones. Wish we would have had made the time to go to one!
Aww we definitely need to!! Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds amazing!
