Persona 5, as a teenager I feel I can relate to the phantom thrives more than I could if I were an adult and I feel as though the phantom thevies kind of showed me that sometimes the kids have to fight against the adults for the improvement for society. After playing I have felt more confident and have stand up to more bullies and horrible people than I have ever have before. Though it sounds weird, I really look up to the phantom thevies and think what would they do if they were real. If I were ever given the ability to do what the phantom thevies could do in the game, I would use it to fight the corrupt (assuming their is no giant god controlling everyone). I look up to Futaba the most, I'm not a shut in but I know what it feels to be shut out for being a nerd and feeling alone at times and feeling scolded by everyone.
Tldr, The phantom thevies gave the inspiration for me to fight for myself and not accept that I cant do anything cause I'm just a kid
Xenogears/Xenoblade and Persona. It showed me how to add depth in my story and changed my perception of myself and the world, making me a more introspective person.
Xenoblade and Persona here, too. The former was really the first thing that truly opened my creative mind, while acting on my soft spot for close friendships. And the latter helped further encourage me to pursue community and understand people, as well as 3 effectively ending my suicidal tendencies and bolstering a renewed appreciation for life.
The Persona series as a whole
Persona 3, 4, & 5
Persona 4 (Golden, I guess) directly changed my mindset, and helped me become the person I am today. The themes of accepting the negative aspects of yourself and working through them instead of ignoring them deeply resonated with me. No one in my life was telling me these things. The few times I'd open up to people, it was more like "Those feelings are bad, and you should probably feel bad. " I related to Yukiko's struggle, feeling like she had no choice in the direction her life was going. Kanji doubting his masculinity, and its very concept. Rise, having to understand that there are multiple aspects to who she is, and that she doesn't have to be everything at once. Those three characters are the ones that I felt a personal connection to, but I really enjoyed all the characters in the game. I could go on all day, but I won't.
For me, it was Pokémon, specifically Diamond Version. It was my first video game I owned and I played until I fell asleep, only to wake up and start the cycle again. I still play Pokémon to this day, (hype for SwSh in less than a week) as my birthday has been in the same week as the mainline releases the past two generations. Pokémon introduced me to my life as a gamer. Not a day goes by that I have some thought about the game. It opened my eyes and made me realize what an awesome medium games were.
Secondly, Mario Galaxy, specifically the first one. It had fast and tight gameplay, hours and hours of playtime, and I soon mastered the game. It was the first game I really played on a home console, and it left me feeling like there was so much left to discover, and it turned out there was in the form of Galaxy 2.
Finally, Persona took Pokémon to the next level for me, introducing more complex battles, character arcs, compelling stories I’d read in pure text books if available. I will always prefer Pokémon, but Persona, especially 3 onwards, are god games that I will enjoy for years to come.

Persona series, it made me understand life more, I never stopped thinking about the games finishing after it.
Persona 5 makes you look inside you and makes you think and i have seen many things that relate from constant fights within my family from my grandpa has some family members fooled with a facade with his behavior and has traits that kaneshiro has
Persona Q 1 and 2. Rei and hikaris stories resonated with me and made me realise that my life had value. That i didn't have to validate my existence to others or to myself. That living my life is enough.
Probably Stella Glow. It's a game that not only helped me realize that I shouldn't base people off of a first impression, but it opened a door to the game's lovely speedrun community.
TF2 taught me how frickin toxic I can be when I succeed
Undertale, this game made me see video games not just as entertainment, but as art, as something that can let you feel emotions you've never expirienced before. This game, a true mastepiese, made by just one person, made me remember my childhood dream of being a game maker. Now I'm working hard to follow that dream and I just hope that, in the end, Toby Fox will be able to finish Deltarune dispite all his hardships.

I'd say the MegaMan StarForce series. Geo Stellar who had recently lost his father in an astronaut incident shells himself from the world. I don't relate to the loss of a loved one, but shelling myself off from everyone was very much similar. Through events of the game, he's forced out of his shell by everything including himself. Playing StarForce 1 helped me realize that taking the right chances will force you out of your shell for the better.
I think Persona 4 Golden is the game that changed my life. I played it when it came out, since a friend of mine gave his physical copy to me, saying lots of good things about it. I was fourteen back then, and I didn't play many JRPGs before that game. I heard about Persona 3 and 4 when I was younger, but I didn't care much about them (How would a kid be able to understand the games' mechanics and deep story? Lmao). Anyway, I instantly inserted the cartridge inside my new PS Vita and I was blown away by the game's awesoneness, from the music to the graphics, since at the time I still had a PS2. I'm a lonely and (or at least, I was) depressed guy, someone who doesn't interact much with people besides his friends. Persona 4 Golden made me feel like I was part of the plot and the large cast of characters, and it was a new, warm feeling for me. I laughed with my teammates, I had fun with my teammates, I cried with them, it was like being inside the game. I fell in love with Yukiko, Chie and expecially Nanako, she was like the little sister that I always wanted, but that I could never have had. My heart shattered when she died at the hospital, and I was angry with Namatane for kidnapping her and bringing her into the TV world, before discovering that Adachi was behind all of the events, much to my surprise. Persona 4 Golden changed the way I see things, and it finally made me feel alive, like a normal person. I'm also quite sensible and sentimental, so I think I might've gone a tad overboard, but...yeah. I'm sorry for the wall of text, but I hope you enjoyed my story with this masterpiece
Persona 3 probably had the biggest impact, although I think that Persona 4 and 5 are better then Persona 3 in many ways Persona 3 was my first experience of that franchise and as a result it had the most profound impact on me. I honestly feel like I became a lot more social after playing that game and it helped me get some new friends.
Persona 3 4 5 and soon a game Fairy Tail. these games kept pushing me to my limit that even when I thought its not worth fighting for I had to try, and if it was a mistake then try and make it right. just NEVER GIVE UP!!

Tales of Symphonia. Absolutely incredible game, saved my life as a young person and I still have a very emotional reaction to it even 15+ years after.
Persona 3, 4 and 5
Danganronpa Series showed me many things that helped build my philosophy and mind. Even though the game is a about a murder killing game everything from the story to the gameplay helped me in some way or taught me something of value. Things like truth and lies, hope and despair and even trust are all covered here and give you perspective of the world. Also it was one of the few games that made me hurt when a character was killed, which for me its quite uncommon feeling this attached to the characters.
It was SMT (this series changed my point of view on the whole life and religion too), I just want sell to ATLUS my soul for SMTV on switch and for remake of Nocturne...

Ar Tonelico. It's a trilogy, but the first game set in motion a series of events that would end up saving the planet. Spoilers, but there were multiple bad endings in the first game where the protagonist, Lyner, could have ended the fight prematurely and still had his happy ending. However, if he did, then the world would have eventually ended. You see, the greatest thing Lyner did was to show compassion for the villain of his game, Mir. There were so many reasons and opportunities for Lyner to simply slay Mir or leave her to rot, but he didn't. His compassion led him to look into her life in order to understand her, to connect to her. In so doing, he understood the simplest, yet the strongest reason for the rise of conflicts. (One of the most profound lessons I have learned from a JRPG)
When Lyner saved Mir from her own hatred, he essentially saved the whole world with his compassion. If Lyner never did what he did, Mir would not have set out to the second tower (which is the setting of Ar Tonelico 2) and would not have sent Cocona to the third tower with the seed needed to revitalise the planet in Ar Tonelico 3.
Love saved the world in Ar Tonelico. I will never forget that.
For me, it's .Hack//G.U games. I really love how it was written, every main character and even the supporting cast and how the story slowly unfolds to us.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it made me a more genuine and better person overall. As cringy as this sounds I started to be a more nice and helpful person, this one line moved me "If I could make people smile, let them live their a bit longer than that's my role in this world." That one line changed me a lot.

Infamous 2 showed me how to be a hero, undertale showed me how even in dark times virtue can still stand strong with a some determination.
Persona/Devil may cry/ elder scrolls/ fallout/ these are my favorites games of all time they made me who i am.

That was a big one for me, too. It taught me how the pursuit of power is a downward spiral that can only end in self-destruction, reminded me of the true purpose of strength, demonstrated the value of empathy and connection, and showed that good and bad exists in everyone.

For me, I would have to say that while Undertale was a major game I enjoyed, it wasn't the game which really opened my eyes. If anything, I would say that Deltarune was the one that truly did so.

Megaman Battle Network 3 Blue
This game had such an excellent difficulty curve. I'd often get stuck when I played through this as a kid, but it pushed me to learn how to overcome these challenges through building better chip decks and learning more efficient combat techniques.
The persona series really helped me
For me honestly it is hard to answer. I can tell you that I have multiple games in my mind. GTA V, Silent Hill 2, Spec Ops: The Line and Bioshock.
Team Fortress 2. my friends, my passion, and many other things stemmed from this game.
I haven't watched far into the video for fear of Suikoden II spoilers, but I don't think a game has changed my life yet, but rather is in the process of having potentially large impacts on it. Like basically everyone else in the comments, it's Persona 3. I got into Persona first through of all things, the anime for 5. I thought it was good at the time, but now without even having played P5 I can see many of its problems. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. In the end though I liked it, but it didn't have much of an impact on me. I then watched the Persona 4 anime as well, which I still regret doing. With P5 I may not have gotten into the series if I hadn't seen it, plus i don't own a PS4 anyways. The P4 anime is much better, and had a slight impact on me. After watching both however, I decided to get Persona 3, as it was the one I knew the least about. Once I got it I was obsessed, to the point where I had gotten well over 24 hours of play time after owning the game for only a few days. It's safe to say I was hooked. This was only in October that I played it so not long ago. I played it and loved it despite my many problems with it, but I don't think I really realized the impacts it had on me until near the end. Just hearing Memories of the City for the first time had me in awe, and when I saw the words "Final Armor" on my screen I was almost brought to tears. Unfortunately though the ending had been spoiled to me, so Xenoblade 2 will remain the only game to have made me cry. I then tried to play The Answer, and I didn't even get 2 hours in before I quit. I wasn't a fan of it to say the least. But how this relates to how it's potentially having large impacts on my life is, when I have nothing to do I tend to kind of plan out for games that are never meant to be a thing, and are almost always based off of what I'm playing at the time. Even now, about 4 or 5 months after I beat P3 I'm still coming up with new ideas for the game. What's most important though is I actually wrote down all my ideas for it on a Google Doc, then I shared it with people saying "hey here's a game concept. I hihgly doubt it'll ever become a thing, but I've spent a lot of time on it." People liked it way more than I expected. People started sharing it with more people via my permission, and now I have people offering to code the game, work on art for it, organize a development team, etc. and it's barely been a week since I released it. P3 is starting to impact my life, because it may actually make me a game developer. It could just be a one time dev, but having just one passion project is still really cool.
TBH, I can't say, as either games don't affect me or there were as many that affected me in a small way I don't think so much about it.
But if I really think about it?
Tactics Ogre:LUCT due to making me realise importance of thinking for yourself and law/authority doesn't have to be right (important for 16yo I was, as teenagers usually are rebels in attitude while surprisingly meek in moral stance that remain thinking the same as mob).
Persona 4 as characters awakening to a persona made me realise our bad sides are part of us and we have to accept them to not be slaves of avoiding them, not to mention many bad sides can be virtue if properly directed - agressive soldier that still thinks will be brave but not murderous, greedy banker that thinks not only of personal gains will make his clients also gain money, every quality of life item is a result of inventor being so lazy to come up with something to make his life, and by extension our lives, easier etc.
Valkyrie Profile on PSX as every Einhenjar story is basically a small tale of either virtue or sin.

Bakugan for the Wii and Pokemon White Version.
Bakugan because of Leonidas. That Bakugan was born in a way that normal Bakugan are not, no spoilers of his origin here. Even though all the other Bakugan and Brawlers, except Dan, Drago, and your character, look down on him and see the potential danger he could bring, the aforementioned exceptions I mentioned don't do the same thing to him. Even when the main bad makes it seem Leonidas did the deed, your character still stood up for him and at the end Dan proved that the main villain did it. I relate to him because I have in the past been bullied because of something that made me far different than my peers. But when I saw Leonidas go against all the odds, it made me realize I should stay as me and see if at least 1 person will like me for me.
I know Gen 5 has lots of stigma to it in the Pokemon community, but it still had a big impact in my life. The theme of the game is Duality. Truths and Ideals. Black and White. I have a Black and White mind. And this game showed me how destructive this mind set could be with the main bad team: Plazma. Manipulating the people around your character with a belief that breaks how the world works. This mind set is countered with your usual Pokemon Battling. You had two friends: Bianca and Ceren. Both with differing mind sets, and yet they can get along. This game showed me that there are people who can be different and still get along. I grew up thinking that you can only be with people who have an exact mind set, Black and White. But seeing my character helping people of different minds, there is a common goal: freedom! And that's where I learned that it all takes different people to get to the same goal. Heck, after you defeat the elite four, most of the gym leaders come to your aid because you can't fight with just your Pokemon: You also need more people, even though different in mind set, still have the same goal. Unlike Team Plasma who all had a same mind set and goal, they lost because it all crumbled down after the same minds couldn't handle their goal shattering.
So overall, I learned that you have to be you no matter what and it's OK if you and someone else have differing mind sets.
Nice to see someone else appreciating Bakugan Battle Brawlers. It's such an underated game.

@@GodOfKa yeah it can be. But there is trick you can use to make him way easier. If you miss your first throw on purpose then he won't be able to hit you with his special shot. Made it really easy even on my Haos playthrough.
@@zecorasvenskendavidsson4940 did that too for Haos, but everyone knows that already. You just gotta pray to the RNG Gods that you get the right power up for the battles. Trust me, it took hours for me to beat that guy! But I persisted.

The game that changed my life was Mass Effect 3.
I am a gay man but I grew up with a very conservative mindset. Being hit on in games like Dragon Age triggered my defences and propelled me further into denial.
That changed when I was playing ME3. In that game you don't get hit on by men. There's one gay romance option and he isn't sleazy, promiscuous or aggressively flirtatious. If you want to engage him in a romantic way you have to explicitly drop the obvious hint that you "haven't found the right man yet". Then and only then he starts being more "friendly" towards you.
I was curious instead of appalled. I turned down the volume when I played because I couldn't possibly let my family hear that I was dating a man in a video game.
Long story short: Mass Effect 3 helped me come to terms with my sexuality that I was in denial of my entire life. It changed my conservative outlook on life. It was liberating.
Kingdom Hearts bot because of the story or other thing but because It show me that all the games that i love doesnt come from Italy and if i wont to find out more of this game and Whole other series i should learn english and in 3 years of middle school i learn english even Better that some professor and its kinda funny because if i Watch the First Kingdom Hearts i didnt like that much instead was the voice acting that change me
