I always admired how much the life of a wrestler mirrored that of the life of a touring musician. And I'm talking about indie/smaller promotion wrestling and the same tier of touring bands. Pay for your own travel, no health care, very little food money, live off of selling merch. What you are explaining in this video can be applied to becoming a successful touring act in any profession. Solid advice.
Justin, you were THE MAN to me when I was watching ECW in high school. You defined ECW for me, I was a late comer but stuck around until the end and fortunately got to see you perform at the final November to Remember, and also at a TNN taping. The Odeum in Villa Park, Illinois. Just want to say thanks for all the bumps you took and for giving it your all every night. You wore that title well, and it was well deserved. These videos are really cool of you to make as well. Looks like you still are the man! Cheers.
GREAT video/episode with a wealth of insight. I am someone who has been a lifelong fan of pro wrestling - who just recently felt inspired/motivated enough to want to enter into a local pro-wresting promotion/training program . . . at 45 y/o (albeit feeling myself in the best shape I've ever been in). At this point in my life, however, I consider myself what Justin referred to as a "weekend warrior" who doesn't really have any realistic aspirations of "making it big" in pro-wrestling - and that's 100% fine by me. It's something I've always thought about doing - and there is now an opportunity for me to, at the very least, TRY. So I am finding these "Wrestling 101" videos to be incredibly educational, inspirational and motivational - and I THANK JUSTIN (and all who contribute to the episodes) for this !!!
Hello PJ. My 4 year anniversary was yesterday (2/20) and I just wanted to thank u for this series bro. Its very helpful in my continued education. I saw u several times in Philly as a child and met u at the Armory at Extreme Reunion in 2012. This is good stuff. Thanks again! @RefJimmy215
I'm starting up my own online production and publishing company. And well, it's very hard and frustrating to make it a full-time business. Point is, it takes a lot of hard work, shameless self-promoting, and sacrifice to make it.
Watching these now makes me wish I was a kid again so I can actually try to do it legit instead of being one of the backyard dumb asses like I was twenty years ago.
you have to put your self thru torture if you wanna make it I am a pro wrestler like you but ive had many travel/driving jobs long hours on roads sometimes pay checks came late u gotta do what u gotta do.
Off-topic question. What are the odds of someone who's short, like 5'1 to be a wrestler? I mean, what role for someone who is as short as me to play even in the indie circuit?
I think of it this way man. You may think you're too short to make it big, but not every huge 7 foot guy makes it either. It's all about how hard you work
@Justin credible My name is Darrell I'm z huge wrestling fan been a fan since 6 years old I'm now 29 I'm from Philadelphia I feel as tho I have very strong potential as a writer n I wanted to know how I go bout pursuing that thanks good brother

kid by time you grow up tna will be out of business if you want to be a pro wrestler in if wwe is not your goal than what is the purpose of becoming a wrestler
Patience, persistence, professionalism. Those qualities are very necessary not only in wrestling, but also in any field where you want to succeed.

Great advice, I think it applies to a lot of different paths in life.

To be honest I wouldn't go to pro wrestling without getting paid to much, I would just be happy that I got to be living my dream.
