I love my optimum. Lately my house has been putting down a house pattern that just does not favor asym balls. My shot is pretty rev dominant, and I struggle to back out of it or reduce my axis of rotation (without turning it into a spare ball lol), so I need something like this that's very controllable. Like I said, the house pattern I bowl on is super cliffed front-to-back, so I can't throw some of the more aggressive equipment, which means this ball is coming with me every night for the foreseeable future. Even my phase 2 is a bit too flippy lol. I have my p2 with me as a good transition ball, once the oil in the mids gets pushed down lane a bit.

Finally, a high rev look at this ball. I was hesitant as I never bought an OG idol before they discontinued. This convinced me to get one and try out another "goat ball." Hopefully this one goes better than my P2 did. 💀
I like this way more than my phaze 2, too many times the Phaze 2 just doesn't have the cover strength and it gets behind the head pin, I feel like sometimes the core/cover are fighting eachother. Not the case for me with the optimum idol.
I know you get the how does this compare question a lot. But I’m gonna add mine to the mix 😂. How does this compare to the scorpion low flare?
This one is definitely the earlier smoother ball. They're fairly close out of the box but the Scorpion is really chalky and does settle down a fair amount with some use. This one does too, but after 10 games, this one is going to still be the slightly stronger, earlier and smoother ball
How does this thing compare to the Phaze 2?
P2 is definitely a little cleaner and sharper, plus more arcy and directional. I think this one is a little stronger too, not a ton, but definitely a little earlier and rounder.
I want to be like James when I grow up.

Luke since Storm does not have the stage 2 anymore’ what would be your recommendation on a replacement? Maybe put a 5k fresh pad on it. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Their new Rough Edge compound seems to be the stuff. It's the whatever the second tier is, if it's 4.99 then that's what it is.
Good news is he doesn't need to worry about fouling lol. Still crazy to me how much power he has.
How does this thing compare to the Summit?
Summit is a little different shape, more tumbly, a little more defined backend reaction, but not necessarily sharper.
Thankful this was either better than the OG or I throw better now. This is a mean bowling ball.

Any chance you will be doing the 2 new hustles?
Maaaaybe, I think Zach might get them but I'm not sure. We might find a way to get them ourselves because Angel typically does well with Hustles, and I kind of like the idea of that X-Ray.

His fit would like a word with your bevel LOL. His hand is weird. Fit looks dumb in a photo for sure, but when he puts his hand in it, it's like huh, ok whatever
