Saw this Bruce Baker great "afro-hair guitarist" in Bryn Mawr PA live, (name escapes me now) OMG baker came out late with a white Tee-shirt and like dead warmed up, drank a swig from a "whiskey bottle" and sat down at his drum and Slooowly tapped in a pathetic slow 30 sec tease ( like he was dead or even going to die), then no foolin, Baker went full-tilt boogie the rest of the night. Was clear then & there thar Bruce & Baker were 4/5th of Cream because they NAILED everything, with the young Afro-haired whitrguy guitarist ( he was just fine ya know), but the Cream sound was alllll there, and geez, wee Jack sang strong , played the long Bass strong, and Ginger Toaded, and jammed those drums like only he can. next night they were on Letterman. Within a year they were back, closer to Phila, Pierre Robair did the intro, then all I remember was wee Jack Bruce playing like he was in 1968. Geez the energy.
Thank You for this...my Good friend Vinny and were there for the 2nd set. the first set featured Eric Clapton and we could of attended the first set but F*** up....oh well Jack is God
saw this band around Christmas in Ardmore PA can't remember name of place. Jack had same sunglasses on. he was throwning snowballs before he went on. my friend didn't know who he was thought he was a homeless guy
I was wondering the same thing myself ;-) found the back story - according to the drummer Tommy Goss, he got tapped for the gig after Ginger Baker reportedly ruptured his appendix, then with Baker back in the saddle Jack had the 2 drummers split the gig, w Goss doing (mainly) the Bruce solo stuff and Ginger doing the Cream tunes. Never a dull moment with these guys!
I do believe I have some old Shawn Lane footage. Will try to find the tapes and see what they are. I know I have a performance of him when he was about 16 playing with Black Oak Arkansas. The footage is really low quality and many generations old but its still cool to see him ripping it up as he does in a Southern Rock Band. Ive never looked to see if that footage is already on UA-cam or not.
First track he is already forgetting the words. As much as I liked Jack, I found this rather annoying and pretty unprofessional. TOO MANY DRUGS! So sad.
You must be an extremely lucky guy if you never forget anything. And actually it happens to all singers you just never - or rarely- hear it on official releases. To me Jack seems just on top of his game here.
@@bodhiheeren I am not a performing artist charging money for the public to come see the show. Yes I do forget things. I am 69. Jack was a lot younger when this was recorded. You do not see opera singers forgetting their lines. Have we just got to accept it cos its rock and roll. I stand by my comments - I saw many fine Jack Bruce concerts where he nailed it. I find the almost singing in No Surrender here sloppy.
Peace bro🙏.I saw Jack Bruce live Newcastle City Hall UK with West/Bruce and Laing.. Fucking blew!my mind.Managed too meet Jack at the Hotel they were staying in Jesmond.I've got a picture of me with and a mate of mine..Kev Cass lol and Mr Bruce.its karma! lol. Then 1975 again in Newcastle with Carly Bley,Mick Jones's..10 mins into the gig,Jack walked off stage just fuckin spaced out!... that's Rock and Roll.aye!..I've seen Jack also a few years later with Vernon Reid(Living Color).God Bless you Jack Bruce Mr Bassist 🙏👍❤️
Down and dirty, raw and unapologetic, from the heart and from the soul. I was there that cold night. RIP Jack, Ginger and the Bottom Line!
I was there..,❤ one of my greatest shows i witnessed! ❤❤
Bernie Worrell on keys, Gary (Mudbone) Cooper vocals and percussion. Tom Goss- drums
Jack Bruce was a driving force for instrumental music he helped Allan Holdsworth on many occasions

Hey, do you have any Shawn Lane clinics?

What is the name of the first song?
No Surrender
Nie wiem czemu, lecz każdy gitarzysta wydaje mi się lepszy od Claptona.
LOL. I hadn't thought about that way. I saw this show in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, and it was amazing.
Great find...Too bad it was filmed under water through a coke bottle lens....Almost unwatchable sadly.
I can see it fine
That's not Ginger!
beware of .... beat the drums after 40 minutes ...
He's doing eddie
Bro replaced Eric Clapton in Cream
very poor quality video
