The perfect Swiss Army knife of synths. The EX series synths have by far the warmest sounding filters I've ever heard on a digital synth. The AN1x is a legendary VA synth and this has the same engine. My all time favorite patch was "Touch Drive" and I liked the one where it sped up the arpeggiator the longer you held the chord. Can't remember the name. I need to buy this again
A’m not much of a lover of digital synth, much preferring the warmth of analog, but two digital synth that are brilliantly warm and reproduce real instruments as well is the Roland ROLAND INTEGRA 7 and the excellent Yamaha EX7, well recommend synth.
Thanks. I totally agree. Some people think it's just a rompler but actually is much more than that. You can modify sound in many ways and create very original and interesting patches.
No one has mentioned the weight and size of this beast. Just bought one. the heaviest Synth I've ever had or known. I have a CSX1 and 2. I put it on a stand earlier, it dwarfs my Juno 106, JD 800 and JP8000, almost. Looks and sounds amazing. Love Yamaha Synths, but not so keen on the DX7.Grab a EX5 or 7 while you still can The AN1X, is starting to go for silly prices.and will rocket, maybe this one some day. thank you for sharing.
It sounds good but you could layer a couple of softsynths to reproduce most of these patches, something like Omnisphere, Serum or Dune 3 are far more powerful sounding let alone some of the Kontakt libraries and if you layered them then you are going to get a better variety of sounds without taking up real estate.
@@maccagrabme None of them cover the character of the EX5/7, and the EX5 synths offer VL synthesis, which only comes with other yamaha rare and expensive yamaha synths like the VL1, VP1 and VL-7.
@@snuppssynthchannel Both Ex5/Ex7 got 4 sound engines. The difference is: One DSPs ( or a couple less powerful), the insertion of some effects and larger keybed... the rest stays the same.
You know... after the DX7 (all 7 are great in Yamaha) the SY77 and again.. this EX7 is the next legend! I hate.. people geting so "confortable" just having all at sight.. not diging at all!! this is instrument is to learn how to pull all the power sintesis inside, the color of its sounds.. only after these EX5 and EX7 the Motif.. but besides..nothing overpasses!! I need to get this synth someday.. ;) lucky you! Txs for uploading..
Thanks. I own a few real analog synthesizers but EX7 has still quite a lot of to offer. Some people are against digital or VA synths but the best is balance analog and digital together to get complete sound, in my opinion.
Indeed! I recently bought a Kurzweil SP4-8 with best collection of their past sounds and PC3 sounds.. but I have a Yamaha YS200 digital.. and I want something between both.. I'm thinking on buying next this gem and after that a Korg Karma.. ;)
@@tanttalon8263 Hello again! It's been a while since.. and I'm happy to tell you that I made it with the Triton Karma (I bought 2020) and with even more enthusiasm.. share with you that I have just bought the EX7 finally!! Arriving, Lord Willing, in 3 weeks or sooner! So happy even though none of my gear is last model or brand new, excp the SP4-88, HOPE you still have your EX7. Txs!
+Chrząszczyświerszcz Chrabąszczyżowąski EX7 has actually AWM, AN and FDSP syntesis types which make it far more interesting than Motif series with AWM only.

Listen at 5:45. The EX has such a crazy range of sounds. That is in Waldorf Pulse territory. Reminds me of Ulrich Schnauss
The EX7 is a gem. With a bit of patience there's practically nothing it can't do. Nice demo. :)

Wasn't necesary to mention that you've been recorded on Cubase...big deal...
Why?
It was, but Your comment wasn't necessary.
