I had tried therapy which didn’t work. I have had 3 epidurals the first one didn’t work the second one worked for about 7 months and just had number 3 which is working. I still have the tingling at times but not the pain. I pray that this lasts a very long time. I was wondering if it doesent maybe try acupuncture. Surgery is the last option which I don’t really want to do.
Your videos are very through thank you. Have had to push for EVERY step of solving back pain. Tried alot--finally MRI latest was epidural at inter-laminar Have constantly complained of pain and and fecal incontinence this shot eveny with valium HURT alot did not work don't want another. Going to try to try chiropratic I do have l4-l5 pinched nerve.
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. It looks like you are working towards fixing the problem. If incontinence is a concern, I suggest a surgical evaluation. Please watch the following video, you may find it helpful: ua-cam.com/video/9ObaE8_sNBM/v-deo.html Good luck 👍
your video helped me understand that i got the inter laminar epidural, have done everything nerve blocks physio pain killers nothing helped how many times can we take epidurals?
I had medial branch radio frequency ablation at left C6,C7, &C8 for the second time in August. Approximately two weeks after the procedure I started getting burning on left side of my sternum, found myself having to take deep breaths, (worse laying down) neck and shoulder pain increased, and the ridiculopathy in my left arm increased along with some muscle weakness. Because of the burning in my chest and breathing issues my primary doctor rightly sent me to a cardiologists. Had CT scan for calcium buildup in arteries, EKG, echo cardiogram, and brain natriuretic peptide blood test. All results show my heart is fine. Have stress test next week. The cardiology doctor doesn’t think there is anything wrong with my heart. So my question is, can radio frequency ablation also damage nerves that weren’t targeted? I think my phrenic nerve was damaged or my stenosis has coincidentally gotten worse. I do have severe left foraminal stenosis in a couple spots. Thank you
Thank you for reaching out. I have not heard of a phrenic nerve injury resulting from an RFA procedure. The phrenic nerve is formed by C3,4,5 nerve roots ("C3,4,5... keep you alive"). So if your RFA was done at C6,7,8 it seems unlikely that the phrenic nerve could be injured by the procedure. Good luck 👍
@@SpineSurgeonSpeaks Thank you sir for the quick reply. I do have severe foraminal narrowing at C3- C4 and C4-C5 with moderate to severe spinal canal stenosis. Also posterior disc osteophyte complex at C4-C5. Had neck injury 35 years ago. Thank you for what you do!! 🙏🏻
You are welcome, very happy to hear that you found the video helpful. In general, most pain-management docs will recommend no more than three epidural injections in a 12-month period, but obviously this can be different in certain cases. Thank you for watching 👍
That's a good question. Some patients need only one injection, while others (depending on their condition) may need more. I suggest a consultation with a pain-management specialist to discuss this matter in detail. Most patients can get up to three ESI per year, but it depends on the situation.

Is this injection can cure permanently.??
